Best collectibles and gaming store in Utah hands down. Huge selection of comicbooks, trading cards and games. Super friendly staff. They treat their customers Ike family. There are other shops in town that will look up the value of your item on eBay at the register and up charge you, asylum never treats customers that way. Absolute gem of a store. read more

Recently I went to Gamers Asylum to get an estimate for a trade in for my mom's Wii U, Wii U Games, Wii Games, Classic Nintendo System, & Classic Nintendo games. After I got the estimate for the trade in, I explained to the employee at the trade counter that I needed to talk with my mom to see if she was okay with the trade in amount so she could upgrade to the Nintendo Switch. The employee advised that if I waited too long to come back to trade it in, the cost to trade it in could go down in value which I understood and I let him know that. I advised as long as she's fine with the trade in value that I would be back within a day to trade it in. He then proceeded to tell me that when I do come back, he would charge less for the trade in because he would have to go through the process again of looking up the trade in value for the systems/games. Because of that response, I took my business elsewhere to get the trade in value because of the experience I had with the employee at the trade counter. I have been going to Gamers Asylum for years for board games, comics, and Funko Pops. I don't know if this is supposed to be Game Vault or Gamers Asylum, but loosely, half of the store is devoted to games and the other half is devoted to comics and man, is it ever. The name does not sound much like a comic spot though, eh? It's in a curious area and the building itself looks run-down and beat. Inside, that motif continues, but there is a treasure trove of comics there, with fully 1/3 of the much larger than expected interior space devoted to both comics and related toys. I wound up spending a lot more time here than anticipated and though I didn't find anything right at that moment I was after, it definitely is good to have another shop on the radar. There is a ton of trades and collectibles as well, not to mention probably the greatest amount of the short boxes I've seen anywhere. If you're a comic book fan, this spot definitely has to be on your radar. Don't let appearances fool you. This place has a lot to offer, particularly in the back issue department. read more

Disclaimer: I don't wander into game stores like this often. However, this place impressed me! My friend had been talking about getting comic books for his son for a few weeks when we stumbled upon this place. We walked in and this place was packed with board games, card games, comic books, and every nerd thing in between. I was impressed with the selection, but even more so I was impressed with the friendly and hilarious staff. They were so nice and they made multiple comments about how they were happy to have us in their store for the first time. They made me feel extremely welcomed in a place that I normally wouldn't venture into. And for that, I give them huge kudos! I would definitely recommend this place. Oh? And the comic books? Really cool video, board, and tabletop gaming store with the independent feel of the Bookshelf, whose place it resides in. They have a solid selection, with very fair prices. They also offer figures and toys for collectors, which is cool if you don't want to buy them online. I wish they had a better selection of pvc and vinyl game and anime figures, but if you're not hardcore about them, you won't be disappointed. They also have a good selection of comic books, but not much manga, if that's what you're into. Added bonus: the employees were all super nice and didn't bug me too much or force sales on me, which always is awesome for a video game store. If I wasn't visiting from out of town, I'd like to make this place my new defacto store to go to; it's just that fun! My complaint is that I bought 3 games for the gameboy advance. Each one of them did not work. They don't get past the title screen. I was visiting from out of state so I could not return them. 1st time in. Pretty cool store. Setup in nice. A larger store than typical. Owner was nice. Prices were on point with market price. That's better than the other two stores I visited in the area. The down side is their cards aren't all sorted into an easily obtainable inventory. I like foils but don't necessarily need high price cards. If it's not high value it's not in the cases. That's not a problem but I am not willing to go into a store to finger through boxes of cards to find what I want. That is their job. I would come back if I was in the area. read more

This store is so flippin fun and great to walk through. The people that work here? 10/10 on their customer service and helping answer questions and talk about games. They have a ton of assorted classical board games, hundreds of retro games for every retro system, and the newer games for the current systems on the market. They also sale, buy, and or trade Magic the Gathering Cards, and also have a whole back end with 3-4 tables for tabletop or card players looking to get together and have fun while playing. There is a whole section devoted to comic books, from current to past issues, and also sell some small figurines and collectibles. It's one of those gaming and entertainment stores that is always worth stopping in and seeing what's new, or just came out to the shelf, or going in and not playing, but enjoying the Magic battles or Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh card battles. Not being much of a gamer, but big on sales and saving money, I purchased a DS game for my son at a competitor's sale three months before my sons birthday. It wasn't until he opened his present that I learned that the 3D-DS games would not work on his DS Lite, and of course, I was well past the return policy. I heard about Game Vault from my sister, and took in the game. They bought mine from me, and helped me figure out which games would work with his system (which somehow they figured out with my woefully inadequate discription). They were very patient, helpful and courteous, as well as having some great prices! I was able to get three games (one in the original title), for the same price as the competitor's "sale." Game Vault rescued my sons birthday and earned a loyal customer! read more

Large store, great! Very knowledgible staff for all types of games and comics. Family friendly too. Owner Mike had good recomendations for a board game the whole family can play, and was conscious of ages and budget. I appreciate that. They have used video games too for the various game systems, as well as comic books, etc. Spectacular selection. And a large playing area in the rear for tournaments and gamer play.
