(I know, personal opinion.) Adrian has only cut my hair once, but he will not disappoint on the fade. I've bought cologne from EM, coffee (fantastic), cold brew equipment, shampoo, etc. I've been impressed by everything I bought. They are a bit pricey on some things, but nothing unexpectedly expensive. To all my Stillwater folks, give EM a try if you haven't already! Some critiques: It can be a challenge to schedule a journeyman/senior barber on Saturdays. A lot of us are doing the whole 8-5 thing, and Saturday is almost always the best day to get a fresh cut. Not that big of a deal, but I wish it were easier. It was easier in the past (1 year ago and prior). Also, the other day I went in to buy some coffee for myself and my wife, and when I asked for a medium roast... I was told that "we don't believe in that, but we have coffee beans from here, there, etc..." Now, as a black coffee enthusiast, it felt like that comment was a departure from reality. I brushed it off and chose by origin instead of roast... I hope that's not an attempt to fight racism or something. How beans are roasted make a huge difference in taste, how they are brewed, even ground. This incident happened a few weeks ago (March 2023). Some of that is just nitpicking, but I really love going to EM. I also look forward to their expansion!

It makes you feel invisible, not even the owner greets anyone. I had enough of the rudeness to stop going. I tried it again after not going for over a year and upon returning, it was more of the same. No greeting from anyone. Oh I almost forgot that a 20% tip is automatic unless you catch it. A regular haircut at $40 plus an expected tip of 20% adds up quickly to put one in rip-off territory. Your typical college town, students living on daddy's money impact the regular customers that have to pay their way!

This is a barber shop, I go there to get a cut. When I want my feelings pampered, I go home to my wife. That's NOT saying that they are rude or unprofessional. I have had a couple of appointment snafu's, but then you suck it up. I understand that I am not the only customer they see and I need to be flexible ( they do try to fit in 'walk-ins). She's also lived in the same part of town for all her life, and can give you a great perspective on the history of Stillwater and OSU. She's a lovely lady and a real Cowgirl!
