Came for prices, left due to shoddy customer service. Part of my order showed up almost a month…read morelate, another part was cancelled without them even informing me. Worst part though was the truly useless customer service when I contacted them to find out where the heck my stuff was. Confrontational, blame shifting and unable to even muster an apology or read my emails properly. I've spent €1,000s here in the past but they won't be getting a penny more from me. I know their discount is tempting but there are other retailers with similar discounts and WAY better attitudes.

And no, I do not play with the miniatures, but the man I love does. And of course, that has direct repercussions on our household life. It means many hours walking by Games Workshop and Dark Sphere to pick up things for his army. It means many hours helping him paint tanks and aliens. It means bookshelves in our cramped apartment devoted to paints, men with little guns, and armored aliens. It means all of this to me. But of course so much more to my husband. With my husband's discovery of Dark Sphere, it means that he can now complete his army and get 25% off. Not only does that make him happy, that makes me happy too! Because that 25% in savings usually means treating me out to a nicely deserved weekly dinner for being a very tolerant wifey! (You can save 20% when dropping their shop, or 25% by ordering online, OR you can even order online and then pick up in their shop!) P.S. They're currently moving to a less crowded location! More gamey nerdiness on its way!

HD2 is a pretty cool little second hand DVD games and music store that is filled to bursting. Walk…read morein, and you feel swamped by boxes with the shelves tottering under the sheer volume of DVDs that line the place like wallpaper. Prices are also pretty reasonable, especially on CDs which are sold as 2 for 1 on anything. However, actually finding something you'd like to buy is slightly more of a challenge, as there doesn't seem to have been much organisation other than tenuous genres. Is Alien a horror or a Sci-fi? Either way, it may be here for a very good price for all I know, but I couldn't afford to spend two hours looking... There's a... unique and possibly pleasant vibe about the place too, with whoever is working here watching a film or two on a portable DVD player while you browse around, meaning you often overhear familiar lines from old films while you search the shelves.

As second-hand shops go, this is a viable alternative to a lot of the big chains around town, although the selection is a bit peculiar, and the presentation is somewhat lacking. Still, if you're looking for that one special DVD/video game/music that you can't find anywhere else, try here before resorting to Amazon. As second hand shops go, HD2 does exactly what it says on the can: buys and sells second hand media. There's loads of stuff on offer here, although the mix is somewhat strange. I guess the DVDs and music that ends up in second hand shops isn't always the most popular, but I couldn't find one band I knew on a 5 minute browse! Still, you might find a buried treasure in here, and I do mean buried: everything is piled on top of each other in a rather hodge-podge manner, and the filing system can, at best, be described as 'lazy'. Still, as second hand shops go, the atmosphere is the place does bring to mind the hidden den of some new media afficionnado, unlike the sterile colours of places like Game. However, is atmosphere worth more than being able to find what you want? I find it hard to directly recommend HD2, as it's impossible to find anything, and the chance of them having the one thing you're looking for is pretty remote. If you fancy a browse, the filing system makes it a bit of a nightmare to find anything that might even interest you in the slightest! Still, the kooky charm here is quite pleasant: worth a short visit at least.

The selection is okay, it isn't great, this is especially shown by a mobile phone section which seemed smaller than any Game store I've visited, which is probably down to Game offering really poor prices for mobile phones compared to recyclers like Mazuma Mobile. Example: I have an iPhone X 256gb which is unlocked. Game offer £405 Three and O2 offer £415 (with price match to Mazuma Mobile) Music Magpie offer £490 Mazuma Mobile Offer £515 As you can see there is a considerable difference between the Game price and the price offered by other retailers, which I feel is also having a knock-on effect on phones being traded in, the phones then sold here seemed to be at highly inflated prices. The selection for games was okay at best, there wasn't a console on deep which 99% of other GAME stores I've visited in the past from Manchester to Sheffield, and many more seem to have. 1* - Selection isn't up to scratch and the same can be said for trade-in and selling prices.

You'll find PS3 games, Xbox games, Pc games, games for the Wii and DS, as well as Ipods, consoles, console accessories, and some game walkthrough guides. The preowned games section here is ok, and as in other Game stores, you'll find retro PC games available, with a special offer retailing them at 3 for £10. Staff are knowledgeable and professional.
