I was not sure what to expect from a speech pathologist but she was patient with me as I asked many questions and shared my expectations. From the very beginning my daughter, who was four at the time, was captivated by Caryn because her approach to learning came by way of creative play. As they talk Caryn gently guides her on how to approach her words when in conversation and how to work through"sticky" words. My daughter looks forward to her sessions and has shown marked improvement in her speech pattern. Although my girl stutters, it does not stop her from getting her point across and as a family, we have Caryn to thank for that.

She is definitely the best at what she does. When I first started speech therapy, I thought I was the one person in the world who stutters, until I met Ms. Herring. She helped me control my stuttering with techniques such as Bouncing, Stretching, Advertising, Cancellation et al. As a speech pathologist, she will encourage you to break free out of your comfort zone and do the things you are afraid of. For example, in my case, I couldn't participate in class, talk to strangers on the phone or streets, talk to large groups. I substituted words for others that seemed "easier." I had a secondary behavior in which I would throw stuff into the air to "help" me talk. I went to speech therapy with Caryn for a few years (2011-2013) and in that interval of time I was able to stop doing those things with her help and the strategies she taught me. I participated more often in class. I spoke to strange people on the streets, in either English or Spanish (which Caryn always found as a threat). I called restaurants without any trouble (a popular one being Zagat Restaurant!). I gave presentations in school without feeling guilty. I stopped substituting words. I don't throw my hat into the air as much as I used to; I rarely do it. I advertised in my Speech college class and when I was pledging for a fraternity. So every time she says I am awesome because I was the one who did the hard stuff, I also remind her that she was the one who encouraged me to do it. Therefore, she is awesome as well. So if you guys want any other review, go ahead. But remember I am not lying when I say speech pathologist Caryn Herring is great!

She is patient and understanding, and my son loves going to see her. Michele is very knowledgeable in her field, and even helped us in diagnosing my son's autism. She always has fun new ways to engage my son's communication, and teaches me ways to progress his speech from home as well. I would highly recommend Michele to any parent with a child with speech delay, she is wonderful.

I have been astonished at the type of therapies that she has implemented for my full body and mind healing. I have had so much trauma over the years she discovered upon my initial evaluation (which I didnt think had anything to do with my physical problems so I was actually offended with her depth of questions at first. I was a true skeptic) After all I was there for my body not my brain. I was in for severe pain to which MRI's showed some real reasons to have that pain so I didn't see how asking me about my trauma had anything to do with why my hips were off or why I could barely walk. Why being told I needed surgery had anything to do with my brain. But knowing I had CPTSD she choose to work with me, beginning in Somatic Emotional Realease therapy. I expected a massage as I and my Dr figured that would surely help. I also expected to work hard in exercises with it taking weeks or months to have any real results. No, I was truly amazed that after just one session my pain went from a 7 to a O-1 !! I was afraid to say that when she asked how my pain level was upon leaving that day. So again a few days later same thing and same results! The therapy, compassion, expertise ,cleanliness and professionalism from Jill and her staff is unmatched. I can now confidently say that I've found the best!! I had to jump on here to give praise to a person and place who has truley helped tranform my life and gave me real results toward healing. She has taught me how to help heal myself with a full body and mind approach. I am not one to leave reviews but I had to as I am forever grateful. And hope this helps someone else.
