We had a great and smooth experience with this company. And it was during spring break.

Purchased transfers from Galveston Express to get us from Houston Hobby airport to Galveston in advance of a cruise the next day. Selected a pick up time (7:00 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.) that would work for our flight. Flight arrived on time. Got a call from driver confirming our arrival and ability to meet at pickup spot on time. Got our bags and was at the pickup location before 7:00. No van. Called, was told the driver had left already, next van would "probably" arrive in 45 minutes to an hour. Later learned from next driver that THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME with "Gabe" (a supervisor?). On our way back, decided we wouldn't take a chance on Galveston Express, even though we'd paid, and took a Lyft back to the airport. Five minutes before we would have been picked up, however, we got a call AGAIN confirming that we would be off the ship in time. I'm certain he would have left us at the pickup spot again! This is a crummy way to treat your customers. I'm very sorry I didn't look at the Yelp reviews for this dishonest business. Advice to any of you taking a cruise out of Galveston -- get an Uber or Lyft! It's likely to be less expensive then this junky outfit, and the drivers are eager to please and plentiful. read more

Let me save you the headache. Here are all the reasons NOT to use Galveston Express. We used Galveston Express for transportation from the Galveston cruise port to George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), and the entire experience was frustrating, misleading, and poorly communicated from start to finish. 1. The cancellation policy is misleading and feels predatory. When booking, the website pushes "travel insurance" for an extra 15% of your total cost. What is not clearly communicated is that if you do not buy this add-on, you essentially have zero flexibility, even less than 24 hours later, even if you are willing to pay a cancellation fee. We tried to cancel the morning of pickup due to extreme cold and wind while traveling with kids. Customer service told us flat out that because we did not purchase the insurance, we had no option to cancel, no option to reschedule, and no option to pay a partial fee. The only choice was to lose the full amount. This was incredibly disappointing. The way this is presented during booking makes it feel like optional "insurance," when in reality it functions more like a required fee if you want any basic consumer flexibility at all. We were treated as if we made a mistake, rather than being met with any empathy or reasonable accommodation. 2. No transparency about the type of transportation or multiple airport stops. Nowhere in the booking process did it clearly disclose that we would be placed on a large bus that makes multiple airport stops. We were under the impression this would be a more direct shuttle. Because of this: * The bus left late due to loading many passengers * We went to two airports, not just one * Our airport was the second stop, turning what should have been about a 1 hour and 15 minute drive into well over two hours This significantly impacted our day and travel timeline. If this had been clearly disclosed upfront, we could have made a more informed decision. 3. Uncomfortable ride and poor overall experience To make matters worse, the bus had no working AC, and we were packed into a stuffy vehicle full of people. The driver himself acknowledged the AC issue. While the driver was kind and professional, he was the only positive part of the entire experience. 4. Zero customer care or willingness to help Customer service was rigid, unhelpful, and dismissive. There was no attempt to offer alternatives, partial credit, flexibility, or even basic understanding. The response was essentially, "You didn't buy the insurance, so too bad." That's not how you treat paying customers, especially families traveling after a cruise. Final Thoughts Between the misleading cancellation policy, the lack of transparency about the multi-stop bus route, the extended travel time, and the uncomfortable conditions, this service completely disrupted our day and added unnecessary stress at the end of a vacation. I would strongly recommend not using Galveston Express, especially if: * You are traveling with kids * You need any flexibility * You have time-sensitive flights * You expect honest, transparent communication about what you are actually booking There are better, more transparent transportation options out there. We were stuck on ship, no fault of Galveston Express. Customs system went down. This made our time frame to get to the airport on time a little closer than we would like. We did call and communicate. Our next shuttle was going to arrive to pick us up at 11:30 flight is 2:15 should be ok... cutting it close but 45 minutes away should be ok. Nope!!! We finally left the port 12:45 After picking us up had to go to another terminal and drop off other people to their cruise. Would not recommend. We arrived early at Hobby Airport and were called 15 minutes before our scheduled pickup time. Sounds great...until it wasn't. We were told to meet at Zone 4 and got there within minutes since our luggage came out quickly. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. After 45 minutes, we tried calling the driver--no answer. We called the office and were told they'd get back to us. Ten minutes passed...nothing. We called again and were told a new driver would contact us. About 20 minutes later, a different driver finally showed up. To his credit, he was very polite and apologetic. He explained the original driver had picked up the wrong passengers without verifying names or destination. Because of his professionalism, we still tipped him well. Unfortunately, things didn't improve. On the return trip after our cruise, the driver arrived on time, which was appreciated. However, while loading luggage, he became distracted by a missing passenger and left without properly checking the vehicle. Specifically, the rear door was not secured. As a result, my brand-new carry-on--unused prior to this trip--fell out of the vehicle and was damaged. While still usable, the damage is noticeable and unacceptable. I contacted the office immediately and was told to submit details via email. After no response, I eventually received a call and was offered 20% of the luggage cost, ie $34. I explained that the damage was due to clear negligence, not wear and tear, and requested a more reasonable 50% reimbursement based on the discounted price I originally paid (which would come to about $75). I also mentioned I would be leaving a review based on my experience. At that point, the offer was rescinded entirely. At the end of the day, the owner is responsible for the actions of their employees. Between the pickup confusion and the damaged luggage, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience. I would not use this service again and would gladly pay more for a company that prioritizes reliability and customer care read more

We used Galveston Express to get from HOU to the MSC terminal and it was a breeze. So many people had booked for that day/time that we were actually shuttled over in a coach bus. Luggage was loaded on for us, we took our seats, and we were at the port about an hour later. It was a little difficult to find exactly where we were supposed to wait for the shuttle in the airport pickup area, but the employee managing passengers took the time to fetch people and look for any stragglers before we left. Very Disappointed - Would Not Recommend We used this shuttle company for transportation from our Norwegian cruise ship to the airport the experience was extremely disappointing. The shuttle arrived late and at the wrong time, despite arrangements being confirmed in advance. Our agent had already coordinated everything to ensure smooth transportation, yet when the shuttle arrived, the staff seemed completely disorganized and unaware of the details. There was no sense of urgency whatsoever. They took their time while guests were clearly anxious about making their cruise departure and, for others, return flights. Several passengers were stressed, and some may have barely made their flights because of the delay. First, our flight was an hour late, so we would be about 5 minutes late. They couldn't wait because "they are on a strict schedule ". I can truly understand that. So, we booked the shuttle an hour later. It was 25 minutes late. Guess "strict schedule " only works one way. So, the driver takes us to our hotel in Galveston. We had given him the address. He left. We went into the hotel. It was the wrong one. We called the company. We would need to wait 30 minutes to get picked up. When I asked if he truly expected us to stand there wasn't wait, he responded, " you can always sit". So, we got an uber to take us to the right hotel. I asked to be reimbursed for the Uber. What a flakey company! My pick up appointment was at 1:45. Driver called me at 1:28 and said he was waiting for us and is now about to leave. I reminded him that our appt is 1:45 (we were getting our luggage), he then said "you won't be here in time". I assured him we would be there in time. We were at the pick up site at 1:42, driver was gone!! I called him, no answer. What a flake! I called the office and told Kevin, he said next driver would be there at 2. 2:30 came and not there! We scrambled to get a taxi to make it to our cruise ship. We paid $230 for a last minute taxi. Galveston Express in Houston is the most unprofessional company I've ever done business with. We prepaid for a Galveston shuttle pickup after our cruise on Saturday, 1/24/26, with a confirmed pickup window of 1:00-1:15 PM. The shuttle never showed up. Multiple people in our group called dispatch repeatedly after the pickup window passed and were told "the driver will be there shortly." By 4:00 PM, no shuttle had arrived. Because we had flights to catch, we were forced to pay $205.69 for an Uber to get to the airport. When we contacted Houston Express for a refund, they refused, claiming we were "outside the cancellation window." We did not cancel -- they failed to provide the service we paid for. This company took our money, failed to show up, and then hid behind policy language to deny a refund. Easy to book and they have multiple options for times. They service both Hobby and GWB. They picked us up at the cruise terminal in the row past the Uber and Lift area. The driver called a few minutes before they were scheduled to arrive to make sure we were there. The van is spacious and held all of our luggage. It was a little warm at first but cooked down when we asked them to kick up the air and they did at full force. We arrived at the airport exactly on time. He got us there quickly and safely and he stayed with my luggage when he was done unloading everyone elses. I had to abandon and rush to restroom. Emergency. This was so sweet. I call this going above and beyond. Thank you galveston express. You not only got me there safely, but you saved me from bladder eruption. Definitely will use your company again but having a hard time finding flight right now to Hobby just bush. The rides were on time and comfortable on both trips to and from the Houston airports to our hotel in Galveston, The experience was slightly sullied when I learned that they charged me 60.00 for a ride that I cancelled for the 5 mile drive to the cruise ship dock that I cancelled. I was able to find a ride for less than 1/2 the price that GE charged..they went ahead and billed me for the ride that we cancelled, citing malarkey about the lack of travel insurance..shame shame shame on Galveston express..but then again thanks for the on time and comfortable rides..but still shame on you for your lack of concern to do the right thing! I had relatives book Galveston Express for a transfer from a Galveston hotel to the Houston Hobby. The driver picked them up and then passed the exit for the hotel. When they asked him he exited the interstate pulled into a station and dumped them out. Now this was 2 senior citizens and their daughter who has Down syndrome and a cast on her foot. She was actually using a knee scooter. They did have to get an Uber to come get them and they nearly missed their flight. Needless to say this was very upsetting and scary. read more

Booking the shuttle is easy. Let's you select pickup location to your airport. Time frame for pickup was 10-10:15. Shuttle did not arrive til almost 10:30. Many of us were trying to call the Galveston Express number to see where the shuttle was as it was only in the 30's and many were not prepared for that. (they send you to the bottom floor of the parking garage which is covered but outside FYI) We were told they sub-contract out(3rd party) so they could not contact the shuttle to see where it was at. Then some were told Bay 16. Others to watch Bay 11 or 12. Then someone else was told Bay 10. Horrible communication. The gentleman that checks you in never came by us until it was time to board cause I don't think he wanted to hear us complain. He then had the audacity to ask us to leave a positive review...who does that. Driver was nice and drove very safely which was the best thing. read more

Galveston Express provides a great price for transportation from the airport to the cruise port. There are some inefficiencies in passenger pick ups. When it came to pick up from the cruise port, 2 shuttles showed at our scheduled time, but neither were going to the proper drop off point, we had to wait for a third shuttle to come 15 minutes later. Due to the low price I would use this shuttle again, but factor in extra time. read more

We booked Galveston Express to pick 11 of us up at the pier upon the arrival of our ship anthem of the seas in Galveston on March 30, 2025. It was very foggy that morning, so the ship was running a little late, at 7:00am I called Galveston Express to let them know by leaving a message on their voice mail we were running a little late. My phone was on from that point on, we were in line to be the first to get off the ship when I received a voice message from Benjamin at Galveston Express, it said its 920am and your pick up was for 9:00am and we can't get a hold of you so we are going to send that shuttle on for other pickups he has to do. I received that message and called right back with panic wondering how we are going to get 11 people to the airport in time for our flight. I was told the driver was leaving the pier, but they would turn him around and they did thank god and we were loaded up by 9:45am. In the meantime, I have been paid in full since January and would expect them to understand that the ships are sometimes late and have a grace period. My daughter used another service who waited for her large group without a problem. I will get that name. read more

We were 10 minutes early to our pick up zone and we were harassed by the guy on the phone and the guy picking us up repeatedly saying that they were about to leave us that they had other places to go that they could only wait 10 minutes. We explained that we were not even suppose to be here for another 10 minutes he repeated that he would leave us. We waited at the next pickup zone 50 feet away for 27 min. Then he got very aggressive !!! Had to tell him he wasn't talking / insulting us like that, If we were not needing to catch a flight and a hour from airport we would have found other transportation. I could almost go word for word with with Jennifer A. said a couple reviews down. Do not book with them. They are as dishonest as you can be, and that's putting it nicely. We had booked a 9am reservation months prior. We got to the port, from the airport, just fine. But the wag back was a disaster. Carnival notified is we would be arriving late to port. I contacted Galveston Express the day before we needed the shuttle, and asked them for a later booking. They told us none were available but they would get us on one at a later time. We got off the boat at 11, and the shuttle is a 1 minute walk outside the terminal. We immediately spoke to the driver, who said they had no room and to wait. That's fine, I understand. Another shuttle rolls in. Despite being there, up front and waiting, they tell us no room, you have to wait. It's frustrating. Others are cussing at each other, pushing and shoving. Making a big scene. I'm there with ny wife and 2 kids. I am not partaking in that behavior. Now it's an hour later, they let people on that had a 10am reservation(which was after our reservation). They tell us again no room, we have to wait. It's now after noon and our flight is at 2, and the airport is an hour away. We let them know that but they basically said it's not their problem. We had no choice but to book an uber. After the trip, I tried to dispute the charge. GE would not give the money back, so I called my credit card company. Once we hear back, they told us GE said we never showed up for our ride. That we had an 11am reservation and we just never showed up. 1, we did not have an 11am reservation. If we did, and we were there at 11, how did you not have room for us on 2 shuttles at 11, and 1 at 12? 2, We obviously just did not skip something we paid money for. You literally have to walk through the GE shuttles to get to the uber pick up. The fact that they flat out made a lie to justify themselves is ridiculous. If they just said we had a 9am reservation and a contract, then so be it. I'd be irritated but it is what it is. But they changed our time in their system without telling us and then lied saying we never showed up. I would suggest going another route. The Uber was $95 anyway, which was $20 cheaper than the $115 they charged for 4. Them lying is what makes them someone to never trust again. read more

Do not use Galveston Express shuttle service ever! We waited in the heat for over 1 hour for transportation from Hobby Airport to the hotel in Galveston prior to our cruise. On departure day, we were there at our agreed upon time, and the service left us. They began texting and calling 45 minutes prior to our time stating that they could only stay in a spot outside the terminal for a certain amount of time. We were told they would put us on the next bus that was 45 minutes later which was the 9 am bus. The 9 am driver then replied that he was full, and that we would need to wait another hour to catch the 10 am bus. When I called the main number and asked for a refund for the second leg of the trip, covering the transportation from the cruise ship back to the airport, I was told that I would not be given a refund and that they would give me a travel credit to use them in the future. WORST SERVICE EVER IN HOT AND HUMID WEATHER!! read more

My group booked roundtrip transfers with Galveston Express and the transfer from the airport to the hotel was flawless. However the return is another matter. They left us stranded along with about 30 other people at the pier. Our pick up was at 10:00 am and we were there at 9:20. They first claimed we were late. Then they claimed there was no parking. However 2 of their vans came by our area and would not take us. At 10:30 I called and they said they had room for us on a 11:00 am shuttle. They did not show up until 11:40am. Needless to say we had to take an Uber. I called to get a refund on the portion that they left us stranded. They will not refund! Steer clear as they will leave you stranded!!! read more

Rude. We booked a round trip from hobby airport to Candlewood suites in Galveston. ROUND TRIP. No show for the return and customer service was rude with it. Just saying we aren't picking you up on a 45 passenger bus from a hotel. Granted we didn't book a 45 passenger bus and didn't ride in on one either. He just kept saying it ain't gonna happen. So rude. I requested a refund which is the only thing they did right. Then he said just give us a bad review. Clearly they don't care even about a bad review. I rate them -1 for customer service. The website allowed the round trip but left is waiting in the hotel. No we apologize no we so sorry for the confusion.
