Holy pupperoni I can't believe Charlotte Pups isn't already on yelp, what a huge disservice to all…read moreof us animal owners in Charlotte! I was lucky enough to find Charlotte Pups because my neighbor uses them. We recently adopted our dog and have a great schedule worked out, but my fiance had to travel out of town for a week and he is usually the lunch walker. I called Stephanie at Charlotte pups and IMMEDIATELY knew that this was the right team to have on my dogs side. She refers to your animal as a baby and when I called she apologized for being flustered but when she was walking a client's dog she noticed that the dog had bloody diarrhea. She immediately called the owner and when the owner was not able to leave work immediately they volunteered to take the dog to the vet. Both Stephanie and Leah were there just to make sure the little pup was alright. Talk about service, my gosh. An added bonus is that their website is super easy to use and schedule on. You can pick how long you want them to visit for, if you want them to walk/feed/play, what hours to visit, etc. They also do overnight stays and offer to water plants, raise blinds, turn on alarms, rotate the lights, etc. But the best part is they check in with you after every visit. You get a little text letting you know how it went, if your animal used the bathroom, and sometimes even a picture! I wish my fiance provided that quality of service, haha! Overall I am so glad to have found the Charlotte Pups team. They are a true pleasure to work with and love animals - what more could you ask for?

Last year they sold the business to the current owner who has run things down hill. She is a curt and abrasive communicator. It is clear she feels she has plenty of clients and doesn't need you or your pet. The final straw for us was her cancelling a reservation for Memorial Day one week out, a reservation made almost 2 months in advance, leaving us to scramble to find new care. Not reliable and not professional so I highly recommend that you spend your money elsewhere for better care. Honestly I really am very sad to see what has happened to the good name the original owners created and even more disappointed to have to write this review but do feel that others need to know. Updating because the response is sadly a blatant lie as the last text message string received from the owner said "If something comes up we will have to go ahead with visits without meeting the pups," so there was no warning that rescheduling a visit days in advance is a "cancellation" nor a phone call or text message before sending a very confusing system generated cancellation of our visits one week out from the busy holiday weekend. Yet another reason to stay away. If you can't be honest or even pick up the phone to tell a client you are canceling on them and why, your service is severely lacking.

Right from the start I felt comfortable leaving my Dunkin at the Inn! John stood on the phone with me and explained the daily run down and how Dunkin would spend his time there. When we arrived to drop off Dunkin, John walked us to the back and showed us where Dunkin would be staying, he placed his belongings in his "room" and introduced Dunkin to the other furry guests. He assured us we could call at any time to check on Dunks and we could also check their Facebook as they posts pictures of their guests. They took such good care of Dunkin! They posted videos and pictures on Facebook through out his stay and he seemed to be having a blast socializing with new furry friends. They spend quite a lot of time with the dogs, playing and walking them at no extra charge! We had the best experience and their pricing is super reasonable. If we are in the area we would most definitely use their services again! I highly recommend using them for your fur baby! *side note* John the owner is an Army Veteran and we are happy our money went to support a Veteran owned business!

Once we arrived we were greeted by the staff. The evaluation and paperwork process was fairly easy to complete and I decided to let my doodle stay for the day. I received a picture update as the day went on which I loved because I was very nervous about leaving my dog only because he's never been to a dog daycare. When I picked him up he was so happy and he received a report card about his play day which I thought was super cute! Pricing for the day care is $28-35 per day and boarding is $52+ per day. Staff was extremely helpful answering all my questions and my doodle seemed like he had an amazing time. Will definitely bring him back.

Woof Gang seemed nice inside, so I asked them to make an appointment for my Westie Scamp to be groomed. The first red flag was that they would only do so if I prepaid, which in 30 years of dog ownership I've never done, but gave them the benefit of the doubt. I dropped him off on the day of the appointment, but got a call in an hour saying that the groomer couldn't finish because Scamp (a sweet 20 pound fluff ball)snapped at her when she did his face. They refused to refund any of my money, so I took him to Barks to get a 2nd haircut. What a terrible (and expensive)experience!

You walk in and the lobby is huge, everything looks so clean and professional, no foul odors. But what really grabbed my attention was the staff. There is a LOT of them, not one or two teenagers looking after a bunch of dogs. Having never boarded there before, we were nervous, so we asked if we could see the back where they stayed - no problem! Without a moment's hesitation, they led us back. Again, I was impressed. No cages, smells and barking dogs but actual rooms, spacious rooms with doors. Cots in each room for the dogs to lay on. A nice lady stood there with us and explained everything. It is truly a "resort" for dogs. The last place we left them, we were not allowed to see the back. And when we picked them up, we had to ride back with the windows down, they stunk so much. We had to bathe them as soon as we got home. NOT HERE! Our dogs smelled as good when we picked them up as before we dropped them off. In addition, they upload videos on their Facebook page every day and you can see your dogs having the time of their lives, reducing OUR anxiety. The difference between Natural Breed Kennels Resort and the last place we boarded them is as different as night and day! But here's the kicker - pricing is about the same! Very reasonable for the extreme care they take of your fur babies. We have found a new boarder and we couldn't be more pleased. No worries at all about leaving your babies here!

New to the Charlotte area - I was having a hard time finding a groomer for my terrier mix dog…read more Growing up on a horse farm with not only horses but dogs and cats, I have a certain standard on what I find acceptable for someone to care for my pet. I decided to read reviews on Yelp and found Lotuspaw. Not a lot of reviews but what I saw seemed like it was a good place. After speaking with Kat I decided to bring my dog to have him groomed. I mentioned on the phone he was large dog aggressive because of a near attack by pit bull last summer. It is something we are working on with him but it is an issue. I was told to bring his vet records and I had him in the vet before we moved in NY and he was given every shot he needed to be licensed in both NY and NC. When I pulled in I was surprised it was kennel. Several large dogs were grouped together behind a chain link fenced - no grass just black top. I went into a side door and was greeted by an overwhelming stench of dog urine. It was filthy dirty! A pleasant young man came out to greet me and told me I could sit down and wait for the groomers to come in (I was 10 minutes early for my appointment). I told him I would be more comfortable waiting with my dog in my car. I really should have left and never came back after that moment - and seeing how dirty it was - but I didn't. I went to car and waited. A man named came to my window and said he was the owner/groomer and they were ready to meet with us. I got out of the car with the dog and Chris introduced himself began to be critical of how I was handling my dog. My dog was leading me - I fully admit it. He was pulling on the leash - bad habit I know. But to have someone I am ready to hand my dog over to criticize me put me immediately on the defense. When we walked in he led us back to a grooming room which was horribly dirty. I was trying to explain to him my dog was aggressive towards large dogs and he began to tell me how it was my fault he was that way. I am sure he was right - but again - by putting me on the defense Chris wasn't in your best interest. Chris began playing with my dog and then told me he looked healthy. Well of course he is healthy! I am a responsible pet owner - just because my dog pulled the leash because it was raining out doesn't mean my dog isn't take care of. He then asked me for our vet files to check for rabies, etc. He looked through the paper and asked if Buddy had a 'dog flu' shot - I had never heard of that and being a kennel he would need that - jackpot my excuse to get the heck out of there. I was never told this before I came in and quite frankly I was fine with it. I had decided I wasn't going to leave him there. I didn't trust this man and his business was dirty. My dog is seven years old - I have taken him to large grooming centers (Pet Smart) and small salons in NY and NC and never have seen a place so dirty. Even the groomers looked sloppy and dirty with in their uniforms. After I left I received a phone call from Chris telling me I was welcome back and he felt we could have a working relationship. I told him I felt my time was wasted because no one told me about that shot and I had brought my dog to other groomers in NC and never once was it mentioned. But I am glad it happened -because it gave me a polite out never to return to that filthy place again!
