Wanted to love this place SO BADLY, but I think they specialize in small dogs or poodle type dogs…read more(and short haired dogs). I will give 2 stars for how organized they are (when we arrived, the names of all the dogs and who is grooming them is on a white board and check-in is very easy). They were also very communicative prior to the appointment. Staff were all very nice. When I picked my dogs up after 3:5 hours and both were still a little bit damp. I noticed one dog had wet ears and a few knots behind her ears so I combed those out when we got home. Because she was damp upon pickup, she dried with her fur going all over. She is soft and fluffy though. My other dog, however, when I got home I noticed in the sun one area of his skin was super pink. I moved his fur back and noticed a whole patch of skin was raw. I'm not sure if they brushed too hard or with the wrong type of comb, but his skin was almost bleeding (the skin is a little broken in a few areas). The rest of his body seems fine but this one patch is raw which has never happened before. We just moved here so finding a new groomer and vet has been my biggest stressor. I know large dogs can be REALLY hard, but we had an amazing groomer back home so I know it can be done. They seemed to be doing great with the small shih-tzus and poodles and such, so I think if you have that type of dog, you would be okay.

We have been taking our Westie Duncan to Mackenzie for a long time now. The groomers that Duncan…read morehad before was rough with him and he did not want to go to Pawfections the 1st time, but Mackenzie won him over. Now when we turn down the road leading to her shop he starts getting excited. The time before his last visit I arrived early to pick him up and she allowed me to come in and stand beside the table as she worked on him. To say the least I was impressed with the way she handles the pets and the kindness and love that she shows them. She is also very meticulous with the job that she does. This last visit we also took in Duncan's new little brother Archie, so she can start working with him and getting him used to be at the groomers. If you know anything about Westies that have what is called Westie-tude that starts at a very young age. When they pups they are ornery, won't sit still for anything and have the attitude of a dog 10X their size, yet she was able to win him over in one visit. If anyone is looking for a Groomer in the Charlotte area I would HIGHLY recommend Mackenzie, you will not regret it. Oh and she is reasonably priced compared to the other shops in the area. The groomer was experienced and had no problem grinding his nails. I could watch the whole process, the stations are directly behind the cash register. For puppies, services are cheaper. It was only $6! The store also had a few pet essentials on the shelves, leashes, collars, toys, treats, etc. One things I'd never seen before was a pet wash station. A DIY station. You pay a lesser amount and have access to this nice area to wash your dog. Maybe this is good for big dogs who dont fit in the home tub. Idk. And lastly, they groom cats. We have a cat who has never been formally groomed and I would love to take him there.

They obviously have a lot of fun while they are there, they come home and sleep for a day or two. I have met and gotten to know several of the people and we know they love and care for our dogs well. We are absolutely thankful for everything at Wyolina: the kennels offered, the play time, the personal care and on and on. I can't say enough good. Very thankful for them and worth the 30 minute drive it takes to get to them. They are excellent.

Through my searches, I found Wyolina and decided to try them out since they indicated that they allowed dogs even if they had social issues. My dog can be very nervous in new environments. From the first trial visit to all my subsequent stays, the staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. They even eased him into the play groups (spoiler alert: he loved it!). I now take my dog to Wyolina for all of my trips! He is now excited every time we walk in and he is happy to greet the staff. We are glad we found them!

When I got to his appointment they told me he wasn't booked with a groomer but just with a washer and that they didn't do full facial cuts which is not what I said I needed. I then asked the person at the front how long would the service be and her response was "we are slammed today so if you're in a hurry today's not the day" (I later found out this person was the owner ‍) but the worst experience was when I picked my dog up and mid way on our last idea home i saw blood on my back seats. I pulled over and saw his paw pad had been injured and they failed to let me know. I can tell they tried to stop the bleeding because it was chalky. Needless to say I got a full refund but very upset about the lack of communication and honesty.

Michael keeps her commitments or she makes it right. I greatly appreciate that. I have never compared prices to other groomers. I pay $65 for a full groom. Fancy Pup, I strongly suggest looking into more professional groomers. I also strongly suggest not taking so many animals at once so they don't have to sit in cages waiting for their turn to be groomed. Once I learned this, it made sense why my dog's appointment was almost 7hrs long. I put off leaving a review for almost a year, however I can not stand the idea of people leaving their animals in this establishment's care. The place appears dirty right off the bat and it actually kills me that I left my dog with them for the amount of time that I did.
