So then I asked about the repairs to the ring. I was referred to someone else, who told me that it would take at least 15 business days, but if I was willing to pay extra, I could have it in 3 days. Since this was really quite a simple repair, I was somewhat put out. I said that I was surprised it should take so long, and that I had never before walked into a jewelers that couldn't replace a watch battery on the spot. The girl told me that was because the fellow who would usually do this was upstairs right now doing all those 3-day repairs (the same fellow, I presume, that was supposedly not there at all.) While I was speaking to her, another customer came in asking for a pocket watch that he had brought in for repairs over a month and a half earlier. This was in October 2018. The contract of which I have a copy was for a 6-month period. Mr. Tello told me that he sent the necklace to his father's jewelry shoppe in Bolton, Canada. He told me that his father was involved in the attempt to sell the necklace in the Canada location. I returned to the Fort Myers location in 2019 and it was closed. I contacted Danny Tello by phone and through messaging. I had many correspondences trying to resolve the theft of my necklace. Danny Tello promised to return it when the covid pandemic was over. He did not. He told me different stories, once that it was in a safe deposit box in Fort Myers and another time that it was in a vault in Canada and inaccessible until after the pandemic. For many months I received empty promises, and then we finally came to an agreement to compensate me $6,000 US as a settlement. Mr. Tello eventually sent me a check for $1,000 US, but never followed through with the rest. I messaged him numerous times and again received promises that were not fulfilled. A few months ago I tried to contact Tello Jewelers in Canada with copies of my contract and much of the correspondence between Tello and me. I received no response. I now wonder just how much jewelry that was on consignment in the US with other customers was taken north and sold in the Canadian store.
