The owner was very unwelcoming. He was interacting normally with other clients who were Persians. He was literally following me and my daughter around the whole store! I touched couple of things to look at, then when he told me not to, I'd stopped and apologized. His attitude was condescending in such obvious manner until we left! I admire Persian culture. I was interested in to buy something. But with this attitude, not to his shop. I'd rather go to other small businesses. Most of the stuff was overpriced when you compare with other boutiques. I made it a point to tell my son to be careful And not touch anything, and my son followed my directions and was careful and only looked at the items. He was well behaved and didn't touch anything (and even if he did, there is nothing wrong with that. ) After hearing me say this to my son, the owner looked at my kindergartner and said NO TOUCH !DONT TOUCH ! The proprietor and artist of this gallery is a conduit from God/Allah, Who creates the most beautiful and divinely inspired art. He has three dimensional calligraphy in Farsi which says the word for love, and beautiful Farsi calligraphy. The ones in metal on a beautiful colored background objets d'art," what are uniquecall beautiful museum or the pieces. He also has jewel like pottery, traditional objects, textile art, and many other things that are outside of my naïve American culture. These arts come from inspirations from ancient Iran. The proprietor is a lovely man who is very kind. The store is small and unassuming but you walk in and it's like walking into I hidden treasure trove from the Arabian nights or some fortress of jewels. NO PRICE TAG on any of the items, I suppose he makes up prices as he pleases, it's an expensive thrift shop Iranian style, perhaps he treats the famed Iranians differently, but my experience was VERY negative, my intension was to purchase an item or two but after his below zero customer service manner I changed my mind. Let me just start by saying that this is "the most eclectic gift shop" with truly unique items geared for every taste and budget. You can find all kinds of off-beat 3D frames, breathtaking vases, incredible pitchers, and stunning trays, all decorated with messages of love and spirituality. The messages are made of thin layers of wooden alphabet letters that are pasted on the items, creating an exotic and fanciful piece every time. Each item is a conversation piece..... You must see it to believe it. Aside from all that, let's not forget the jewelry, artistically designed clothing, accessories, and knick-knacks (i.e.: candle holders, smartphone protectors, mirrors, books, trinkets, etc), not to mention the highly impressive handmade home décor and unique furniture... Need I say more! I found this place because I was in search of Khatam frames at a few select shops. I stumbled upon this place and ended up buying two most beautiful decorative table covers of all time. I am posting a few pictures of the store and some of what I enjoyed looking at. Everything in this place is just stunning and filled with love. Absolute beauty! I adore every piece in this store, but unfortunately the seller doesn't give you an honest price. You should just be aware that Nothing has a price tag on it; and the seller just gives you random prices based on how you look and other factors.... He sold me a 7sin set for $160 and then I saw the same exact set on his instagram for 69 dollars. Unbelievable right? He gave me price for a red pomegranate for like 40 dollars ( which is already extremely expensive, considering how much work was done on it), but he sold it to me for $55. That's right. He charged me $55 dollars right after he gave me $40 price. I was too shy to confront him, so I just asked for a discount. He rejected my request, but gave me a free candle instead. Then I came home and realized that he charged me more than double for that 7sin set. I paid $205 for the 9 piece set+ a little china fish tank. Man I wish I could return e everything... I spend almost $550 in that store. Nothing is returnable; you don't get a legit receipt with all the details on it, and I'm sure he's gonna make you feel the worst. Also he charges you through paypal and you will be charged for sales tax. Honestly I would just make sure that prices given to you are fair. I don't know, maybe you have to ask on Instagram anonymously before going to the store in person that's so funny... buying art pieces from an artist shouldn't be that hard, right? I always get my concert's ticket from Gallery Eshgh. The owner which I can't remember his name is very helpful and nice.

I bought a Hafez book from this website for $30 plus shipping. Owner emails back saying the item is out of stock but he said has another one much nicer and much heavier. I said sure and I Venmo'ed him the additional $30 he asked for. 2 days later he sends me the same exact book but literally 2" bigger. The book looks exactly the same as the one I originally purchased. Original order was for a 5" book, the replacement sent was 7" but book itself looked exactly the same. Basically he made me pay additional $30 on top of the original $10 shipping I paid for, so he can send me the same book but 2" bigger. I called him back and told him about the issue and he got angry. Then he calls me back 30 mins later telling me to send the book back. Anyways, I got scammed $30 so just becareful when doing business with this merchant. Don't pay extra for shipping if he asks you so. Total waste of time and money. Lesson learned. read more

I yearned products with my favorite word on it. On various events I bought many products from this design. One day I saw this gallery and avidly purchased about $900 worth of merchandise. Owner was very friendly-of course. I picked a T shirt that hard Eshgh on it and when surprised by the 75$ price, I was reassured by the high quality of the workmanship. I wore the shirt TWICE and the threads came loose. Next time I was in LA I stopped by and explained what happened. He accused me of lying and having have washed it, which I disproved by the crisp tags. I actually threw the shirt is the trash and told him to keep it and was about to walk away. He reached for a replacement and stuffed it in my bag. Pointed to the customers and in told me I was lucky because there were other people in the store. In other word he called me a liar and a crook. I threw away all the other merchandise I had purchased from him after the replacement shirt's embroidery frayed again!This man has no class and no integrity. Gallery Esgh (which means love in Farsi) is so beautiful and all work is hand made by Bahman. From shirts to paintings to jewelry and candles to hand made fine traditional Persian master pieces. The owner makes everything himself with no help and is so nice! We bought 2 phone Cases and he asked for our phones and surprised us with free carved esgh stickers for our phones as well! He also gave us Goodluck stone necklaces as we were walking out that are supposed to bring love into your life. Beautiful place to visit even if you don't plan on buying anything ! read more

Jimmy Buffett meets Rumi. That's what the owner/artist made me think of. Great guy! He was full of knowledge on so many aspects of ancient poetry and Persian culture. His shop is very eye catching and strategically placed next to the Saffron & Rose ice cream shop. It was open really late too which is nice when you're hanging out. I bought a book of Rumi poetry that hadn't been overly translated to the point of losing its Islamic roots. "Eshgh" means something that doesn't perfectly translate into English. It's a very powerful word that comes from Arabic and Persian. Eshgh is an overpowering love that isn't necessarily just for another person. This level of "eshgh" can make you do anything for that other person. It's probably where the concept of truly being "love sick" comes from. You could move a mountain for this type of love. Just think Romeo and Juliette. This type of all encompassing love is something rare that most people don't experience especially in modern times. :-) So the whole shop is dedicated to this concept. read more
