It turned out, that an acquaintance of mine Bryant had his wonderful paintings displayed in her gallery. (please see his art in the attachments). It was the first time ever viewing his paintings. They were marvelous! The shop has a wide range of prices. Bridge Art Gallery appears to be a pop up gallery. The main locations are in Jersey City, NJ and Wilmington, DE.

I can't believe I'm going to be the first to review this outstanding framing center and art gallery…read moreon Main Street in Hackensack. This location has been here forever, I have been coming here for at least 15 years personally. Virginia, the owner, always comes in with excellent, fair prices. When shopping for a frame that complements your artwork selecting the right frame is in an art in itself. Virginia has always had an excellent eye for picking out a few that work so you can make a final selection. If you have experience framing large paintings and prints you're probably familiar with the quality and price variance in this niche market. Take my word I have shopped around several times and I always wind up right back here where I started at Galaxy. I just dropped off a very large, fully crew signed Star Trek the Next-Generation print as can be seen in the photographs I posted. The previous owner had it framed in a black Plastic, modern frame that had warped over the last 10 years and cracked in a few places. I will post a photo of my new, beautiful gold and black frame that is being installed at the end of the week once the job is completed for a before and after comparison. When I get home I will post a couple of the Oil paintings I have had framed here in the past. Take a look at how they complement the art.

I am pleased to write this glowing review for Sherryl Morantz, in fact the review is long overdue!…read moreI had begun to purchase lovely paintings from Sherryl eight years ago and after referring a friend who likewise became a good customer, I went back to Sherryl last week. And once again, I saw Sherryl in action. I didn't even have to finish my sentences, or my thoughts, since she really understood and grasped what I was trying to accomplish with art décor. It was as if she were standing right there in my apartment. She knew color, shape, size, theme, both in canvas and in frame so exquisitely well that I all the choices I made with Sherryl's assistance were right on point! Thank you, Morantz S. Galleries, and to its founder, Sherryl Morantz, for dedicating your life, your talents and your soul to the beauty of art and for understanding the importance of making it affordable at the same time. You are indeed a blessing!

Nicholas Roerich is a Russian painter mostly known for his paintings of the Himalayas. He was also…read moreknown as a mystic and explorer. This museum has around 200 Roerich paintings and drawings in storage and on display. The paintings are serene, mostly landscapes in blues, pinks, lilac colors. Some of his sketches and designs are also on display. The architecture of the building is beautiful too. On the first floor there is a narrow hallway (hard to navigate with others around) with his family history, though I wish the museum taught more about his political beliefs, spirituality, and views on mysticism and telecommunication, as they are quite interesting. That being said, they do mention these things on their comprehensive website. Entry is free, though donations welcome. Staff friendly. You can buy prints and postcards as well as books and trinkets in the gift shop. It's a little out of the way, but there are other nearby hidden gems in uptown, including The Hispanic Society museum and library. You can also take a trip to Riverside Drive and park and Grant's Tomb. All of those stops are free as well.

This is an impressive little museum. Roerich's work is quite varied and impressive. Even though his…read morestyle evolved over time, there was something very specific about his work that carried through. His paintings of the mountains in the Himalayas were a high point for me. The luminosity reflected in the mountains was powerful. They also have a lot of information about his engagement in mysticism and his efforts toward protecting cultural monuments and promoting peace. The museum itself is housed in a lovely old mansion down by Riverside Drive. We were also made to feel welcome by the person at the front desk who provided us a lot of information about the collection and the artist. One nice touch is that they have some beehives next to the museum and they sell the honey harvested from those hives in the museum. The honey is delicious!

I visited the Hispanic Museum & Library last weekend for the first time. It's a museum and…read morereference library for the study of the arts and cultures of Spain, Portugal, and their former colonies in Latin America, the Spanish East Indies, and Portuguese India. It was founded in 1904 and expanded into the former home of the Museum of the American Indian (adjacent to the museum's original building) in 2021. Their collection includes 18,000 works, including works by Diego Velázquez, Francisco de Goya, El Greco, and Joaquín Sorolla. When I visited last weekend, the largest space of the museum was closed as they set it up for a new exhibit. Unfortunately, that meant only two small spaces were open to view. Luckily, one of the spaces I was able to see was the Sorollo Room. It displays 14 paintings painted by Joaquín Sorolla. Together, the paintings depict different provinces of Spain and total 227 feet in length. It's incredible and worth a trip to the museum on its own. It's free to visit the museum, so if you're in the area it's well worth stepping by. If you get lucky, you'll get to see more than I did (bad timing!), but even if you see nothing more than the Sorolla Room, it's worth it. I'll probably return one day to see more of their space and different exhibits!

They have an excellent collection, some of which is always on display, is George Inness, the landscape artist who lives in Montclair. The selection of paintings is well curated and often highlights different themes and techniques in the art work. Drawbacks - It is too small to spend more than an hour, two on the outside, there. Some exhibits do not have exhibit plaques next to the paintings, so you have to use on the the bound books to figure out who painted what. Personally I found this unnecessary cumbersome. Very much worth a visit.
