We really debated on whether to stay in one of the hill towns or in an agriturismo, and we're really glad we made the decision to stay here. It's centrally located within Tuscany and it was fairly easy to get around to all of the hill towns (whereas if you stay in the hill towns, there are parking issues and it can take a while to get in/out of the congestion). The hospitality at Fonte Bertusi can't be beat -- everyone is extremely nice, helpful and prompt in addressing any questions or concerns. The breakfast is great, but would advise that you come on the earlier side, as we were the last ones in a few times and some of the items were gone. Also be sure to try the cappuccino with the egg foam -- my husband is now an addict. The apartments also come with enough kitchen supplies to be able to make light meals. We made pici three out of our four nights at home without a problem of missing any key utensils or dinnerware. The only downside is that it was raining a lot while we were there and it was somewhat chilly (not the fault of the hosts, obviously), so we weren't able to enjoy the outside areas as much as we were hoping to. It would be heavenly to be there during warmer weather and read in the back area and share a bottle of wine during a sunset. And with the rain, there was a bit of a damp smell in the apartment sometimes, but fortunately opening the windows usually aired it out.

The staff was extremely friendly and very professional (they stayed up untill very late that night with the drinks and bites) and what I understand from the groom, they helped out quite a lot in finding musicians, photographers, etc. (which were all top of the bill). Without a doubt, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to organize a wedding party or a big event. The area is superb, it offers classical Tuscan scenery, but it not nearly as touristic as anything you'd find to the north or the south. The pool is good, rooms a are spacious and clean, and the background scenery is unparalleled really. 5-stars to the max.

The grounds and the scenery are beautiful. The pool was great and the layout of the space made the perfect wedding venue. Being that this is an "agriturismo" many of the food and drinks they provided were sourced from the local farm. (The wine was excellent and the olive oil was to die for.)

The couple that owns this vineyard is super sweet and the staff is really excellent. Everything, and I mean everything, was fantastic. We stayed one night but I wish it was more. The "light" dinner they prepared was one of the best meals on our recent trip, all was fresh, well prepared and the wine tasting to go with it was also very good. The room was a little slice of heaven and very quite at night which was a welcome change from the city. The views were stunning, I walked the vineyard early in the morning and loved it. The panormic views were breathtaking. The farmhouse is quiet and very romantic. The staff prepares meals without skipping anything, sometimes we ate in the dinning room, sometimes outside we even had a picnic after a short walk up the hillside, where we watched the sun set sipping on wine and eating delicious foods. The pool was relaxing, clean and the perfect temperature. With free wifi we were able to check in with family occasionally. Our last night we danced under disco lights and celebrated with our family the other quests and the staff! We will be back someday! I miss the custom cappuccinos from Mossimo already!

Our suite had a second bedroom for our kids (8 and 10) and was very private. The food is prepared by the owners wife daily with great care and love and is classic Tuscan cuisine. The best part of La Sovana is the family owns and operates the hotel (Guissepe and his wife, Daniella and Ricardo (son and daughter in law)) and are incredibly warm and hospitable. They made us feel so welcome and even treated our kids like their own. They even arranged a play date with their two daughters for us and let our kids make pizza in the kitchen. The best part is that the Olivi's also own Olivi Winery next door and arrange winery tours, wine tasting, grape harvesting, and they are building a new 8 room spa hotel attached to the winery. We took numerous day trips to the surrounding area and found travel to be easy. I highly recommend La Sovana!
