Our apartment was very comfortable and spotless. Breakfast was a delight. Every morning she had a variety of wonderful treats waiting for us. I would recommend Fonte Bertusi to anyone who wants to have an amazing vacation in Tuscany.

We really debated on whether to stay in one of the hill towns or in an agriturismo, and we're really glad we made the decision to stay here. It's centrally located within Tuscany and it was fairly easy to get around to all of the hill towns (whereas if you stay in the hill towns, there are parking issues and it can take a while to get in/out of the congestion). The hospitality at Fonte Bertusi can't be beat -- everyone is extremely nice, helpful and prompt in addressing any questions or concerns. The breakfast is great, but would advise that you come on the earlier side, as we were the last ones in a few times and some of the items were gone. Also be sure to try the cappuccino with the egg foam -- my husband is now an addict. The apartments also come with enough kitchen supplies to be able to make light meals. We made pici three out of our four nights at home without a problem of missing any key utensils or dinnerware. The only downside is that it was raining a lot while we were there and it was somewhat chilly (not the fault of the hosts, obviously), so we weren't able to enjoy the outside areas as much as we were hoping to. It would be heavenly to be there during warmer weather and read in the back area and share a bottle of wine during a sunset. And with the rain, there was a bit of a damp smell in the apartment sometimes, but fortunately opening the windows usually aired it out.

We were staying in the city of Bagno Vignoni and this restaurant in Pienza was an easy 12km (14min…read moredrive). There was 2 families (4 adults, 2 kids aged 8, 10). This by far was the BEST meal we had in the area. We walked in and met the owner, shook hands, such a genuine nice guy. We ordered 2 bottles of Brunello Montalcino red wine, 2 Fanta soda, 1 Coca Cola soda, 2 Bruschetta, 1 Caprese Salad, 2 Pici all'Aglione (traditional Tuscan spaghetti with tomato, garlic chili pepper), 2 Pici al Ragu, 2, Tortelli alla Maremmana (fresh pasta filled with ricotta and spinach, with butter and sage sauce, pana cotta dessert, almond biscotti dessert. Total bill came to 170Euros. ***Please note they take CASH ONLY for payment, they do NOT accept credit cards...we didn't have enough euros and ended up paying what we had in euros and the rest in US dollars. I almost had to drive into town to find nearest ATM. When we sat down complimentary fresh bread and salami plate came out. Also after dessert, complimentary dessert wines (3 different ones) with shot glasses put on table. Some notes 1. All pasta are handmade there. Definitely get Pici because it is special to the Tuscany region of Italy. 2. Pasta dishes are HUGE, you definitely could share. 3. The tomatoes in the caprese dish were like candy, so sweet. 4. The plain tomato sauce was ridiculous....the whole table voted that as best dish. It was so simple yet so good. The quality of the ingredients made a huge difference too. 5. Outside they had apricot and cherry tree and we were allowed to pick to take some home (our kids picked and ate apricots right in the garden). 6. All of us left completely stuffed...the food was so good we didn't want to leave anything but sadly had to. Highly highly recommend.

The rooms are located in a 13th-century farmhouse, and come with terracotta floors and wooden beams on the ceilings. There are 12 rooms in the boutique hotel. The location of the hotel is very special since it is located in between Pienza and Montepulciano with marvelous Chianti scenery. The Santo Pietro's well-tended gardens feature several patio areas, furnished with tables and chairs. The pool is surrounded by padded-teak deck chairs, tables, and parasols. The public areas of the hotel is very relaxing, the small pool area is also helpful to rest under the Tuscan sun... Most of the service people are very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast is not bad with variety of freshly baked cakes, croissants and tarts. The dinner that we had at its restaurant was perfect. We had true Tuscan food with fresh vegetables, delicious meat with perfect wine. There are many people who only came for lunch and dinner. The rooms are very clean, the towels are soft and the amenities such as soap, shampoo and body lotion are special Tuscanian products. However there are some negative issues with the rooms. First, the hotel faces a busy traffic road and it was very hard to sleep since it is impossible to open the windows because of the noise. Although the rooms were nicely decorated, there was not a mirror in the room and there is only one chair. Therefore there is not a place to put your staff in the room. The other problem was the coverage of the wifi. It is not possible to use it in the rooms and pool area. Although it was a bit pricey we had very nice time at Tenuta Santo Pietro.

We were greeted by a beautiful farmhouse with an elegant restaurant patio overlooking the hills. The menu is simple but effective, full of classic dishes made with fresh ingredients from their own farm. We ordered the pici with zucchini and smoked pecorino, stuffed onions, eggplant Parmesan, and wild boar stew. The pici was wonderful, more subtle than other preparations we had, but still possessing that wonderful bite that we love about pici. The stuffed onions were also excellent. I've never seen this dish anywhere else, but it's so darn tasty and makes me want to stuff all my vegetables from now on. Unfortunately, we had an emergency at this point and had to cut our meal short. We got our remaining two dishes packed up to go and didn't get to eat them until a couple hours later. Even cold, however, the eggplant Parmesan and wild boar stew were nothing short of extraordinary. The former was more like a ratatouille with layered roasted vegetables bound together by thin layers of Parmesan. All the vegetables were so fresh, and it was nothing like the breaded fried eggplant you see in the US. The wild boar stew was incredibly flavorful and tender. We were astounded. If you're anywhere near Pienza, you MUST eat here!!

Also, my wife did not finish her dessert, which is rare for her. The best thing about this place is the view. The dinner is somewhat romantic, it has the farm raised appearance. The sunset was the best part, as was seen a cute dog chasing a rabbit across the field.
