It's modern, classy, and vibrant. I ordered the Rigatoni Arrabbiata. It may look boring, but the flavors were bold! It had a nice spice from the chili peppers and tasted very fresh. The only downside to our dinner here was our waiter. He didn't really seem to understand or communicate that great. We waited 15+ minutes after he cleared our plates to recieve the check, which I had to ask for.

La Perla is possibly one the most charming, quaintest Italian restaurants I have ever visited. The…read morerestaurant is so intimate, you'd be forgiven for feeling you are sat in someone's living room, but this just adds to this bijou eatery's uniqueness. The food is faultless and plentiful and the staff are polite and charismatic it's also worth noting that they serve possibly the best Garlic Bread in the world. Ensure you book well in advance as La Perla is extremely popular although the staff are very accommodating, don't expect a walk-in table to be available at peak times.

I will be becoming a regular customer at this wonderful little (emphasis on little!) place and suggest you try it also.http://www.la-perla-hull.co.uk/

Ciao Bistro
Well this place won the Hull Daily Mail's Continental Cafe of the year…read more I however don't know how the hell it did. I had Fungi Rapini and my daughter had prawns in a sauce, I am sure had mushrooms and pate been fresh and homemade then it would have been very nice unfortunately I suspect these are bought in. The prawns however were better and my daughter enjoyed them, although the cloth lettuce as a garnish was more suited to the bin. The Fillet steak I had was very nice as was the Halibut chosen by my daughter, the vegetables where adequate but after having to send the bottle of red wine back (they had tried warming it under a hot tap). I was not overall impressed, combined with the condiment set having residues of previous dinners on the outside and a feeling that it wasn't the cleanest of places I have decided to give this one a miss next time. Others may like this place however you make your own judgement.

I started with a Moules Blanco it was greatly presented and tasted as good as it looked. Then had a Calzone for main course. This is not a meal for the small eater. It was huge and packed full. It was a struggle to finish it but it tasted so nice it would have been a crime to leave any of it (well thats my excuse and i am sticking to it ha ha). The service was also great. The owner was always around and chatty and they seemed happy to server you. All i can say is Great Food Great Place Great Price A must to goto if in Hull :)
Italianos
Since it's my first review I'll save the 5-star rating -- but I did consider it. Italianos makes…read moregreat pizza, and the prices are way reasonable. You can get a lot of food delivered to your door for 10 quid, and it's tasty, high-quality pizza. The ones on the menu are pretty creative and tasty conceptions, but you can, of course, create your own from their lists. I have yet to branch out from their delicious pies, but I can say their garlic bread is pretty rad, too.

Da Gianni profits from a superb location and attractive traditional decor. Beyond that nothing…read moreseems to be quite right. The pizza is alright, smallish, but the tomato sauce is pretty bland. While waiting for my pizza I watched a cream pasta sauce being boiled furiously over high heat, so I would avoid the pasta - I can incinerate single cream for myself at home if I want. The food is priced in line with the image projected, not the product. Service was average, slow, and an order of about 5 items needed repeating several times (and checking before it was accepted). There are plenty of better options in Hull, no need to pay extra for hype.

Have been to this restaurant several times before. Over the years, the prices have risen and…read moreportions have become smaller. The food is good in general, but nothing outstanding. On this occasion, I had a mozzarella and rocket starter. Would have been better if the plate wasn't covered rocket and had more mozzarella/tomato. For main I had a 'special' pizza, which has salami and prosciutto ham. there was a decent amount of ham but the salami was thin on the ground. When I came to the desserts, I avoided the dessert platter so share like the plague! after our last visit and ordering the afore mentioned dessert, you can't help but feel ripped off! there is barely more on the sharing platter then there was on the dessert plate of someone who had ordered a single portion. The restaurant is nice and clean and has quite a fresh look. The staff are nice but there is one person there, who I'm assuming is a manger of some description as they're in normal clothing, who is over the top with the niceties! to the point that its irritating! generally though, the staff are good and helpful. We have a tastecard so we got bogof on all courses which made the price reasonable. without the tastecard, I personally wouldn't want to go as I feel its over priced. our reservation was for a group of 5 and our waitress had no problem in accepting 2 tastecards for our party and splitting the bill into two. some places can be a bit funny about this.
