However, she forgot to add a hanger to the frame, so I had to take care of it myself when I got home from vacation. I guess I'm not very good at these things, as I got a sawtooth hook that came with screws and bought a hammer. Obviously you don't hammer a screw. *face palm* Plus the frame was thicker than I thought..... I was rather bummed and frustrated cause I couldn't wait to get it up! So I called the closest framing store to see how much it would be to get a hook on it, to my surprise Steven, the Gallery Director said "Come on in! I would love to help you free of charge." Which he did... Even though I didn't have to pay, I definitely want to go back and give them my business and you should too!! They even have some amazing art pieces for sale. I was particularly drawn to Talia's work. I can't wait to go back and purchase one of her pieces! I always love to support local businesses and this one is definitely worth the support. I was originally drawn to Giddens because I was looking specifically for Manuel Sarmiento's new 'home' after the Artisan's Collective in the BAD closed down (wahhhh) & found he has quite a bit of work here. Also my daughter needed to research female artists for her an art class assignment, so I just happened to be able to have my cake and eat it too here. That day we both accomplished our goals and she walked away with a plethora of (LOCAL) artists to be inspired by and bring to the attention of her instructors and classmates; I walked away with 3 pieces I LOVE. Two pieces (a sculpture and table) by Manuel Sarmiento & a diptych by Rosemary Riddle-Achelpohl. (See pics, aren't they amazing!) Let me also say that a great bonus to this gallery is that it's staffed by said artists, not just someone there just for a paycheck. What a joy to be able to speak with them about their work, hear their stories & see their passion for their craft. There's nothing like having a direct connection to the artists themselves. But don't fret, they know not only about their own work but have vast knowledge on all of the Gallery happenings and other artists showing in this gallery. So ask away about anything and if they don't know the answer they will jump through hoops to get it. Talk about Service! I was so impressed with the time and energy spent on both myself and my daughter in our different goals for the trip. The pic I took is awful, but if you know your art mediums, you can clearly see how remarkable it is that this was done in watercolor. Ms. Brotherton is truly mind-blowing in her talent, a master! As usual Cherie was helpful, focused, accommodating, knowledgeable, and a bonus; she's thoughtful. She remembers her clients on sight. She remembers what they bought. She cares! GO to GIDDENS!!!

Highlights for me were the Orson Welles' car, the story of his War of the Worlds radio broadcast, old Bibles, flintlocks, spears, and Hollywood props. When we thought the tour was almost over Stephanie led us into the vault - where many of the more sensitive relics are stored. At one point Glenn Beck even stepped into the vault to say, "Hi." Our tour took 1 hour 45 minutes! It was a wonderful experience.

I dropped my pieces off and he promised it within two weeks. Much to my surprise, I got a message less than a week later that the work was done! Since it was a gift for my wife, I took her with me to see the finished products, and she was thrilled! After a couple of years, the art work in a couple are drooping probably from poor choice of tape. So when I recently acquired a couple of new art pieces I decided to get them framed correctly. We recently saw a production of the lion King Junior at the center and it was such a great…read moreperformance. I don't know any of the staff nor the cast - we just randomly heard about it and bought tickets online. The costumes, the props, and the set were beautifully well done and the kids were amazing. To be honest I had low expectations going in but I was blown away. The bravery of these children to perform and sing in front of people was really inspiring. Every single child was awesome, but I have to say the children playing Rafiki and Zazu were particularly great. My 6 year old daughter really enjoyed watching. We will definitely be back!!

I will NOT be putting any more money into this place. We have been to many community and children's theaters and this was by far the worst.
