This review is for the Santa Cruise. We took the Santa Cruise at 5:20 on Wednesday night. The staff was all great, very welcoming and friendly. The Christmas Wonderland building you go to before the cruise was OK; a few displays you could take photos with and a ton of raffle items you could purchase raffle tickets for. We were rushed by staff to get into line even though we had hoped to stop by the bar first. After standing there for a while, my husband decided to go to the bar anyways and he still had 10 minutes to spare before we were rushed to the boat so I'm not sure why we were rushed. Pro tip; sit on the port side of the boat (left side) to see all the lights and decorations. We unfortunately didn't know and grabbed seats on the starboard side and had to strain to see everything. When we stopped at Santa's cabin, he came out and read off all the children's names, which was super cute to hear the kid cheering when they heard their name. It was a very quick ride, less than an hour round-trip and honestly the boat moved faster than the guide could tell us about all the light displays so that was a little disappointing, but overall it was a nice time. Dress warm, as the boat is heated but still pretty chilly. Also, the treat they advertise for the kids is the tiniest candy cane you'll ever see; probably not worth them advertising at all. read more

This review is for the Santa Cruise only!!!! It's a blast! The tree displays for charity give some great photo ops before you get on the boat. The Santa's Bar is a must stop before you board. The polar vortex entry is fun. The boat is comfortable, and the cruise is totally entertaining. My son is 13, past believing in Santa, but he still played along and enjoyed the story. The adult tix were $24 and the youth tix were $12 for 2023. For $36, we had 90 minutes of fun and made some memories. Do it with your kids! read more

I purchased a used boat from Gage in late 2018 and stored it with them until May of 2019. As of today I still do not have the title to the boat and therefore cannot register the boat. I have called Gage numerous times to resolve the issue and they either say they will call me back and never do or I leave a message that is never returned. I began calling them on 5/25/2022 and have called them all summer long. I have inquired with the state of WI and I know that Gage sent in the registration paperwork but the title is missing the previous owners signature. I have informed Gage of this and have received no follow up. I asked for a call back just yesterday and explained that I have been waiting all summer and still no call! read more

Very expensive boat service. Shop around before you use Gage. Use them as a last resort. That also includes the pier service. All very expensive compared to competition. Gage charges for every little detail. read more

Quality has gone down exponentially over the past 2 years. They said they could fill my gas tank, I know this because I called them. So I went there with the little gas I had and asked someone to fill me up. I waited there for an hour and had to drive my boat back to my pier barley making it home. They said nobody could fill my boat up at the time. Shitty service all around. read more

As for the boating service, Gage's does a great job handling all marina equipment. For many years, they have had a great reputation. Recently however, Gage's has been slipping in their quality and many many customers are questioning the direction of this marina. Personally, I find the customer service to be one of the important aspects of any company (they are the face of the company). And Gage Marine needs severe improvement with their customer service. I talked to the Customer Service Rep a few weeks ago and was treated rudely and with disrespect. I mentioned if the Marina did certain services to the boat, and she barked that its not her problem, they do it to all boats, of course it had been done, and that I was wrong because it had been done. Wow. What SHOULD of been said by her was: -I'm sorry for the problem. -I'll make a note of that to be seen to. -Have a nice day. I know I am not the only client to complain of their disrespectful customer service. I just hope that Gage Marine works to ensure that all clients get treated with respect. read more

Went to the Gage Boat Store on Route 50 to discuss purchasing a 25 ft. Pontoon Boat. I went into the front door with my wife, and the guy at the desk was shooting the breeze with a couple of guys, I waited for about 20 minutes looking around the facility, including the back area, and no one offered to help us. I told my wife it was time to go. The guy behind the desk made eye contact with me,but never said a word. I then went to the Boat House and spoke with the staff there and committed to purchase a Bennington Pontoon. Gage needs to be a bit more customer oriented. A 78K sale is nothing to ignore. read more

I came into gage to gas up, stopped up and bought the cutest clothes ever. Christine and katie were awesome and sold me on paddle boarding and how great of a work out it is. Their manager, mike, showed me the place and for once the manager didnt try to pressure me into buying anything. They had a band there playing during the day on the pier (no cover). Gage unable to deliver my Shorestation, or boat, by this Memorial Day weekend. I've used Gage for many years and paid their premium prices, but expected comparable service. Lots of excuses this year from weather to staffing, but other service providers seem to have overcome and delivered in time. Time for me to change! read more

I had my boat on Gage's in and out service from 1987 until 1999 when I bought a house and moved 3 piers to the south of Gage. Not only do they still bend over backwards if I have a problem but I feel are very honest in there service areas, concentrating on getting you back in the water ASAP. As far as all the changes in the last few years kudos to Bill Jr. For taking the chance to do the expansions and providing another place to expand everyone's summer fun on the lake. Gage Marine has terrible, no wait not a good enough word....atrocious customer service. The following experience happened to me not one week ago (though it actually begins back in the fall). For a good number of years I have been a Gage customer and things were going well until Fall of 2012. We hired Gage to take out our pier and boat as usual. They did so and delivered the boat to our house when we were not there, which is ok I have no worries in my neighborhood. I was chaining the boat to a tree and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, ok boats all done for the season life goes on etc. So fast forward to when the bill arrives. Now I know Gage charges more than others in the area but they do (or "did" rather) good work so I didn't mind paying a little extra. So the bill arrives and there are the charges for the pier removal: OK, Boat services: OK, Then there is this charge for about...$190-200. Wasn't sure what this was so gave them a ring. Turns out, and this is where it gets good, they said my propeller was broken and the $200ish was a charge to replace it come spring. Uh...wait hold on, my boats propeller wasn't broken when I was using it during the Summer, nor was it broken prior to them removing it because I inspected the boat myself (engine included) the weekend before said removal. They said don't worry we can talk about it in the spring. Ok so send them a check for the amount sans the propeller replacement. Fast forward to about 8 weeks ago. I go in and talk to one of the women at the counters (this was at the Gage on HWY 50 that used to be Summerset Marine till 2009 I believe). She said the guy who I should speak to was on vacation for a week or so. Fine...I'll come back. Go back May 1st, because that was the next time I managed to get up to Wisconsin (from IL) and meet with Sean because I guess he is in charge of the boat removal/service-something or other that isn't important here. The point is that is who I had to talk to. So I speak to Sean about the issue. He tells me the propeller needs to be replaced (thanks, I couldn't have figured that one out...since you know, a blade is broken off of it). I said "well whose going to pay for that?" and he looks at me with this surprised look and just points at me. I respond with "No. You [The Marina] broke it when you took my boat out of the lake. It was not broken before, as I had checked." He says something about how they didn't break it but he offers to split the cost with me (which would have been about $80). I said I'll think about it. So I leave. Go back on May the 8th and wait for Sean to get off the phone. I had decided at this point that the principle of the matter dictated that since I was not even in the state when the boat was removed, much less even responsible for their actions since this is a professional Marina, I was not going to split the cost they had to pay for it. They did it, take responsibility. I had a mechanic once pay the entire cost of a fuel line repair because the vendor he used didn't do his job properly, which in turn negated the mechanics work needing it to be redone. That is integrity and thinking about the customer, which is exactly why I still go to this mechanic. As a customer, I admire honesty, integrity and responsibility above all else; even cost. If you have those, I will be a loyal customer for life. Gage has none of these things. So when Sean gets off the phone, he turns to me from his desk as says, with a bit of attitude "well what are we going to do?" I say "It's either going to be you [the marina] fix it [at full cost], or I'm going somewhere else." He looks at me, and says with the most presumptuous attitude I have ever heard in all my years of being a customer anywhere: "Go. We service 800 boats a year. Go." I said: "you're really going to lose a customer over a matter of $80?" He says (same attitude, now with a little upset mixed in) "I made you a deal that was more than fair. If you don't like it you can go." At this point, I was a little miffed at the attitude and the fact that this deal was "more than fair"...how does that work? Its like he is doing me a favor by splitting it, even though they broke it. I put my hands on the counter and say loudly: "You broke it! You should pay for it! I didn't break it! I've been boating since before I had my drivers license, I would know if I was going around with a broken propeller." He says, in total attitude now since I semi-yelled at him; "Well, when we took your boat out the lake levels were probably low. So it's not our fault." I say, still miffed "There are plenty of other places around here that would like our business." He says, "Yes there are. Now Go." So I left. Angrily, but I left. One hour later, I was signed up with a new service. Gage has no Customer service and they should be ashamed at what they've become. Quantity over quality i guess. new slogan: "At Gage, if we break it, you buy it!" Stay tuned! I don't go away easily! read more

I took my boat there and asked them to check to see if there was a leak anywhere. New boat. I asked them to call or email me with the price. Never got a call or email with the price. My husband received a call the boat was ready. When we went to pick it up we were charged almost 600 dollars for them to place some clear glue on the depth finder. They never asked if they should go ahead with the repair and we were never notified prior to being charged. Daylight robbers!!!! Would never go there again read more
