Disappointed that the doctor would not adjust the quantity, but the worst was that Jean charted the notes: "Terry has called multiple times to get a refill...". This is blatantly false; a lie. Anyone with sense knows exactly what she was implying and she knew, too. It was not a typo. I advised correcting it to the truth, which they did. The ADA may also be interested. Falsely stating a patient is calling repeatedly for pain medication is very serious. I'll never return to the practice, but this is to warn potential and existing patients that facts aren't a priority with Nankin Dental. This wasn't the only inaccuracy, but it was the most serious and deserves further attention.

My front tooth chipped on Saturday and I got lucky to get in to see Dr. MacKenna the very next Monday. She did a great job! It was my first time when I didn't get emotional and had a minimal anxiety. Her assistant Jazmyn was very nice and carrying, very confident which made me feel at ease. Temporary crown looks and feels great! Haidi, the employee who takes phone calls and works the front desk, is extremely rude, snarky,…read moreshort, and greedy. She constantly cuts me off and gives replies like "okay" and "bye." It is good dental practice to let patients know beforehand what the cost will be. However, Haidi does not give you any information beforehand and will try to overcharge you. You will not know that you are overcharged until your insurance claims come back; then, she will refuse to refund you. My total for root canal and crown was about $2400. I chose to get the root canal done, but not the crown, as I have warranty with my dentist back home. However, I had already paid a portion for the crown (root canal was about $300 total since it was covered by insurance, crown was about $2100 since it was not, I had paid $782 so far total). I asked for a refund for the crown because I cancelled my appointments and did not want it done here anymore. Haidi refused the refund, saying the doctor has already looked at my tooth and I "spent time in his chair." Haidi is constantly arguing with customers and putting them down. She makes them feel stupid for not understanding the insurance fully and asking questions about what they have to pay. She does not explain the pricing well, even though detailing the pricing/coding is literally her job. She also tries to get you to open a credit card and put your entire bill, including FUTURE costs, on there. I believe it is because she wants your entire bill to effectively go through the credit card company, instead of Great Woods Family Dentistry, so you would have no way to get the money you paid back. She wants to avoid situations like mine where the service was not rendered, but the customer wants a refund. I would stay away at all costs. Although Dr. Mistikawi is friendly and wants the best for you, dealing with Haidi in any shape, way, or form will make you want to pull your hair out.

Most recently, they messed up on my out of pocket $1050 mouth guard and so I had to come back and get the scan done again, they messed that one up too and since they didn't want to pay for another Dr Burt basically forced it in my mouth, it hurt. I told him I couldn't really close my mouth with it in, something my last mouth guard did not do. He said "well then just sleep with your mouth open then" with an irritable tone, extremely inappropriate. It is always NOT healthy to sleep with your mouth open if you can help it. Of course it will fall open sometimes but it is not good for you mouth, already have a slight issue with dry mouth, something they knew about and I wake up every morning with a sore throat. And my jaw is now in even more pain, pain constantly and when eating, and obviously Dr Burt doesn't care. I wasted $1050 dollar out of pocket when I'm already struggling with finances. Now I will need to get a new one at another dentist office, which I can't afford. When I was a teenager he pressured me into a procedure he sprung on me, with severe anxiety as a teenager I wanted to schedule a time to come back when I had properly prepared myself for it but he pressured me into it anyways and at the time I hadn't learned I could push back. Im going to a new dentist who actually cares about their patients. It was also a nightmare to get my medical records sent to me, in the end I didn't even get them sent to me they stopped responding and then sent it to the dentist office directly. They couldn't tell me the dates of the X-rays.. Horrible place, they'll trick you into thinking they care by having their adorable service dogs walking around the office.

Despite this being a time-sensitive issue, I was taken back for X-rays--only for Dr. Worden to come out and immediately point out my tardiness as the first thing she said. I asked if I would still be treated, and she essentially told me no, I'd have to come back for another appointment. I explained that this had already been discussed upfront and that I was under the impression I would be seen. Her response? "We all need to get home." She brought up my being 10 minutes late again, which felt unnecessary and dismissive. At that point, I simply said I'd rather end the appointment and walked out. This kind of attitude--lacking compassion, flexibility, and professionalism--is not what anyone should experience from a healthcare provider, especially during an emergency situation. I won't be returning and would not recommend Dr. Worden based on this experience.
