Dr. HORNG J LIN MD did adequate work but even though my dad who is a US veteran after 20 years of…read moreservice and has Tricare, Medicare, and private health care insurance that he pays for monthly, Dr. Lin's office billed my dad the full amount. My mother called to figure out why they had not billed the insurance. The woman said she had the insurance information and would get it fixed. Then without any further communication, the doctor's office sent a another bill and a final notice threatening to go to a collection agency. This is the American health care horror story that shouldn't even apply, because my dad is triple insured. The ambulance companies, the hospitals, the home health, and the other doctors don't have any problem billing my dad's insurance/medicare. 1. No other health care entity has been this incompetent regarding billing. We had not had any problems with any other company or health care provider. This tells me that Dr. Lin is working with or hired incompetent people to settle his bills. 2. I've heard it all before - doctors don't want to deal with billing, they just want to focus on the medicine aspect and BLAH BLAH BLAH. Doctors should have the DECENCY to hire someone competent to work for them, not run their patients bankrupt. We pay the health care insurance premiums - your office, DR. LIN, needs to just not be stupid. 3. The lack of communication and automated referral to a collection agency is cold, distressing, robotic, inhuman, disgusting. When you are in the hospital, you don't have a choice who treats you unless you want to transfer hospitals. And due to lack of transparency in this country you have no idea how you're going to be billed. And even if you pay for insurance, some doctors don't give a damn and want you to pay off their Teslas and Aspen trips and Gucci bags for their wives/husbands, and private tutoring and schooling for their snotty kids. Ridiculous. Americans need to ask and you need to demand and hold doctors accountable. Make them think twice about the crap they don't want to think about. Make them have a conscience and strive to make better decisions with regards to who they hire. Their hands aren't clean if they choose incompetent people to run their office.

I saw Dr. Malvehy for varicose vein treatment in my legs at his Sacramento location. He is…read morecertainly the rock star of this treatment! He say he has literally done thousands and it shows. He plays music and tells you what is is doing while he is working, and the procedure itself was much less uncomfortable than I imagined (and took less than 40 minutes). He explained the insurance coverage at my consult visit, and asked if I had any questions. I appreciate the lack of down time and being able to drive oneself to and from appointments. I have not worn shorts in years, but have already purchased some for this summer. If you are tired of the look and pain of varicose veins, don't wait - contact NorCal Vein now!

I was deeply disappointed by my recent experience with Doctor Malvehy. The interaction lacked the…read moreprofessionalism, attentiveness, and compassion one should reasonably expect in a medical setting. Upon entering the exam room, the doctor's verbal and physical mannerisms felt brash and uncaring. I showed him the areas requiring treatment, yet he insisted that I personally mark all of the treatment areas myself, stating, "I don't care how your legs look," before leaving the room. Regardless of intent, such a statement was inappropriate and lacked the empathy and professionalism patients deserve from a physician. When I calmly expressed that his manner seemed unkind, rather than addressing the concern or offering clarification, he cancelled my appointment altogether. Personal frustrations, if present, should never influence patient care or the overall clinical experience. Unfortunately, this visit fell far below the standard of professionalism and bedside manner I had anticipated and previously experienced.
