The first one wanted to take out 2 teeth and put braces with expanders for over 2 years. The second was Dr. Sanders, this people are top notch, from the organization to the technology and professionalism. His told me that I was a candidate for Invisalign without need of taking out any tooth. Also, he put in writing that in case I'm not progressing as plan he will change me to braces at no additional cost. So, this seems like a win win situation, in less than 24 hours I accepted the treatment plan, paid in full and cancel the 3rd appointment!

I came to this orthodontist with very minimal concerns (see attached photo) during a difficult time in my life. You'd hope a doctor would have the discernment and integrity to say, "You don't need treatment." Instead, he put me into his version of Invisalign and completely changed my previously perfect smile. Over the next 1.5 years, I emailed him multiple times letting him know my teeth were shifting in ways I hated, flaring out, misaligned, and not resembling the smile I walked in with. His response every time was to shave between my teeth and assure me it would "get better." It never did. My face shape even changed because of how my teeth were moved. He is extremely skilled at what he does, and I have no doubts that he is objectively/statistically the best Invisalign practitioner in Miami-Dade. He's generally a pleasure to interact with and I've never had anything less than a stellar experience with his staff, who are all very patient, professional, and attentive. Bonus points for the dental assistants in particular, who have made all drilling etc. experiences as comfortable as possible. The reason why my rating is presently less than 5-stars is that the doctor's bedside manner can be hit-or-miss. I have about six cumulative years' worth of experience as an Invisalign patient at this point (not including additional orthodontic treatment as a teenager), so I tend to have nuanced and specific questions at this juncture (I just finished my first set of refinements and I'm about to start a second; that's basically three sets of trays). Sometimes I'm able to get him to sit and listen to my questions, get thoughtful answers, and even get indulged to have follow-ups. But other times... It's like pulling teeth (no pun). It is very frustrating when you are being rushed out of the chair after only ~3 minutes of having been with your treater, during which they have done all of the talking, leaving little time for yours (once he literally walked away while I was mid-sentence). I recognize that this is a product of the volume nature of most Invisalign practices, which tend to have an (understandably) busy schedule, coupled with the software nature of treatment (you only know so much until the program tells you otherwise). But I hate leaving with a feeling of guilt/fault over having questions about cosmetic issues (I've had a chipped incisor for the past couple months), areas of focus that are important to me, the stage of my treatment, etc. I empathize with the logistical nightmare that must be trying to see 50-something patients a day, all complaining about the same thing ("when will I be done?" etc.). But for the time that you are in that chair, I think it's important that your questions and concerns be consistently treated as valid. I hope by the time that I finally finish my treatment that I feel differently about this issue and can update my review accordingly.

I was able to get an appointment in less than one week, valet parking is free and relatively easy compared to other places in Miami, and the waiting room was very efficient. All the staff members I encountered were extremely pleasant. The only reason I give four stars was that there was a little bit of a mix up with what I actually needed since I do not need new orthodontic treatment. That said, Dr. deRoode took a look anyway and did not force any unnecessary treatment / costs on me. In fact she was sorry for the mix-up and did not charge me for the consultation. Once you make an appointment and arrive, you need to call the front desk so they can bring you in once they're ready for you. The entire staff is wearing masks and gloves. You will need to complete some COVID forms and this is where a slight delay occurred between more patients parking and two appointments including us, waiting to be called in. Thankfully, once inside, everything went very smooth. The dental hygienists were both incredible! The boys were at ease and followed all of their instructions. Having no cavities and after their cleaning, Dr. Llamas always pays them a visit to make sure everything is A-okay. Each of our yearly visits have always been a pleasure! Very satisfied with how they're dealing with all of the COVID regulations.

My son's experience has been woeful. He used to break his braces regularly in the first months but…read morethen stopped his habits, now when he asks for when they will be removed the workers said in a few months, he still has them after 3 years and they still give the same response or ignore it with a disappointing with "we'll see". Last appointment he came out with two brackets loose in the bottom furthest back. As for care, there is not much to complain, simply the lack of honesty when going through the treatment when those qualities are necessary for services involving health. Great pencils though.
