If I could give 0 stars I would. I was shopping with my young daughter looking at shoes when an associate came up to her and yelled at her to stop touching her shoes and was complaining about people messing with the shoes. I was confused as this is a store and its always a mess anyways. I found a manager and began to explain the situation to which he told me maybe my child should not be touching shoes on the display then. This was not a display it was a long table with shoes thrown on top of it. Manager and employee were very rude. Unfortunately I think the manager just seemed very uneducated and nervous. The prices are low but the women's dressing room is always close at the St. Charles Mo. location. Many of their clothes sizes are off and you must take them home only to return them if they don't fit. read more

So if you're not familiar with Gabe's they have a lot of items for cheap but expect this place to be a little funky and you have to be prepared to do a lot of digging. You do have to carefully inspect your stuff to make sure there isn't any damages to the items. Its sort of like other comparable discount stores so one visit you might find a lot and another time not as much stuff. I was surprised I haven't been here in a few years and it seems like their homewares section has expanded a fair amount. Mind you I came during the week so probably not as chaotic if I had gone during the weekend. read more

Hello this is Sheryl. i was here with my two daughters one day and my daughter needed new shoes. while she was trying them on her phone went missing. we searched all over the store until we played the find my iphone noise thing. once we heard it ringing my daughter ran to the sound only to find a big ol chunky middle aged man standing there holding her phone. he claimed it was his own... but it was obviously my daughters. he even went as far as taking selfies on her phone... which is very rude and disrespectful. after my daughter argued with the man and he wouldn't give it back she ran up to him and snatched her phone back. i'm very thankful she was not injured in the process of getting it back. don't support this business!!! they did nothing when her phone was taken!!!!! #rude. #notalivelaughlove. #scared i will also show the selfie the rude man took on my daughters phone. i shall not return. Wow, I wanted to like this place, but it's a huge mess. If you're willing to search for a long time, you MIGHT find some deals. However, look closely. I saw a lot of clothes with not just defects, but huge holes and other serious issues. I didn't find anything, but everything is really cheap if you can find something you like. read more

Good brands for cheap prices! Gabe's (or Gabriel Brothers) is a wonderful discount store where you could find pretty much anything that you are looking for. It is slightly unorganized but it does have a lot of options. Can be hit or miss at times but that mainly depends on you patience level. There is no "quick trip" into and out of Gabe's. If you want to find something to buy, you need to plan on spending quite a bit of time here. It's worth it! read more

I'm new to the area, and I didn't know what Gabes was. When I first walked in, I thought "Oh, this is kind of like Ross or Marshalls", which I love. I was excited at first. But after spending a little time in the store, I quickly realized that it will not be a store I'll frequently shop. Gabe's has some decent stuff, but I can only give it 2 stars because it's a mess of a store. And it's not just that things are out of place, although many of them are (housewares is a disaster), but just the way it's organized makes it just drudgery to look through. For example, they have about 10 different racks of mens pants. Why not just have one section for pants sorted by type (jeans, dress, athletic, etc) and size? Lordy, I don't want to have to sift through 10 different racks in 10 different areas of the mens section! I probably won't shop there again. It's just too disorganized for me. read more

I love Gabes! I find everything I need and more from shopping here. The employees are always so friendly and helpful. It's a fun store to shop at because they have high quality brands for a low price. No other store in the Winchester area compares as far as prices are concerned. Its simlar to Tjmaxx and Marshall's but with a larger selection of clothing and shoes. If you have a toddler at home you can find well priced brands like Steve madden, nike, Columbia, Levi's, Patagonia, etc. They have a lot of options and I save so much money everytime i shop. The store offers coupons online as well if you want to save even more! Its 70% off of department store prices plus with coupons you save a crazy amount of cash. I absolutely love gabes! I've been a loyal customer for ten years now, and find it hard to shop anywhere else because of the amazing deals I find and great prices! Yeah, some stuff is old or beat up, but they bring in trendy new name brand stuff every week! Names include: Express, Nike, Urban Outfitter, American Eagle, Steve Madden, and others. I always have so much fun shopping there and LOVE. The compliments I get on almost every single item I purchase there!! They have a lot of high-end boutique clothes too. I've been going to this Gabe's for years now and have noticed it get progressively worse. The past 2 times I've went have been the worst experiences. Yesterday in particular. Not only is it completely unorganized and a dirty mess, you literally have to devote 1-2 hours of your time to find something remotely close to what you're looking for. I've been to the Gabe's in Martinsburg and Fredricksburg and this one is by far the worst, and it used to be the best. Perhaps it's the management. Which I'm sure it is, because I stood in line for 15 mins while the cashiers struggled to do refunds and had to continuously call the manager to the front, who was on her phone making a personal call. I believe her name is "Dee". This is the 2nd time I've been there in this past month and the line kept getting longer and this manager just kept walking past instead of calling someone to open up another register or ringing customers up herself. I was incredibly rude to the cashier last night and I apologize, but damn I was about to walk out and waste the 2 hours I had spent there digging though the piles of shit they call a display because only 2 registers were open and the cashiers were moving at a glacial pace. Probably won't ever come back unless something is done about management, organization, and the lack of cashiers. I know I'm not the only customer who feels this way as the 10 people behind were making comments as well. read more
