I felt bad for the two ladies working at Magnolia on the day that we stopped by. They seemed…read moredesperate for customers and leeched onto my mom and I the second we opened the door. In the first room of the shop we were schooled on the sale items in the store. One of the ladies gave us a run down of "This section is 30% off, this section is 50%, etc." for at least five minutes before letting us roam the shop freely. We did check out the sale section but found mostly Christmas items and some strange purses. The first room features gifty items, cards, and soaps. The second room of the store features clothing, jewelry, and shoes. Most of the clothing was geared towards older woman but that didn't stop the sales lady from trying to sell me on a hideous sundress that came in one-size-fits-all and is constructed so that it can be easily cut to the perfect length, no hemming required. Um, no thanks. My mom, though, was pleased to see that they carry the Oprah featured "Not your Daughter's Jeans" denim. The jeans apparently are miracle workers and squeeze and lift to perfection. Unfortunately for my mom, Magnolia didn't carry the petite sized denim so she was unable to buy any. We got a little more than annoyed with the over eager sales ladies and actually had to fake a phone call to get out of the store without making any purchases. Yikes!

On this last particular visit, I was particularly obsessed with a pair of loose fitting flow-y pants that caught my eye in the window. They reminded me of a pair I picked up in Seville, Spain last year. Hard to come by! Sadie Grace brings a stylish, progressive line up of dresses, dressy pants, accessories, shoes and overall trendy apparel. Every time I stop in I find something I'd love to buy at prices that match what they're offering. I've also found that they change inventory frequently making it somewhere you want to visit often. I was blown away for starters by the customer service from multiple employees. One found me a shoe in a size that wasn't even on the floor, another brought a different size to the dressing room, and a third suggested a better way to complete my transaction! Now keep in mind the stuff here is brand name and higher end than, say, a Marshalls, but I still found a ton of good deals. I saw higher end brands like Tory Burch, Birkenstock, Democracy, and more. I got a $200 free people dress for $35! It's now definitely worth checking out and could be dangerous... I got so much stuff!

Staff was made to stand at the entrance to welcome the customers super sweet. So for people who have been to NR it's definitely a couple of notches above TJ Max but the model is similar. I was asked to leave the store by the manager about a week ago, I had my service dog with me we…read morewalked to the store he was on a leash even though he's not required to be. I had his certification with me I will attach a photo below where it states in the fine print they aren't aloud to remove me and we are both allowed in any store that accepts the general public. I was asked to leave because he did not have a vest, he didn't have his vest because A. He's not required to & B. It was very hot out we walked to the store, the explanation being "their store is air conditioned" . When I called to speak to the district manager or area coach, they gave me his name laughed at me and I was hung up on. Very very illegal and unprofessional all because my service dog is a pit bull and I heard the woman on the radio say it. I will be back! Don't worry!

Granted, it's one of the newest locations in the area, but it's clean, spacious (as far as it's not packed with product and cramped and cluttered) organized, and still offers some of the areas greatest prices. Since Target closed in the area, it's hard to find good quality products for a good price - without reducing to going to Walmart. So, this location is perfect. I work near the area and at times need gifts at the last minute and it's very convenient to visit this location during my lunch hour. It's located on the side of the old Town Mall in Middletown, which is now basically empty. When I visited, it was lunchtime and when I was ready to checkout, only one cashier was working and the line was long. It was annoying to wait for customers to checkout and all they wanted to do was talk to the cashier about their day and what they were going to do for the remainder when all I wanted to do was check out and leave. But, that wasn't the store's problem. The Middletown location is definitely one of the most organized locations in the area.

I had not wanted to spend much on the trip -- and, well, Blush on Main ended that fantasy pretty quickly. Blush on Main has racks and racks of beautiful women's clothes and accessories. If it weren't for being pregnant, I may have revelled in these racks a bit more. My sister-in-law, though, found a few items to try on here. What I really loved was Blush on Main's hat collection. I'm a sucker for a great hat (for proof, see my main Yelp profile pic). This shop had a few varieties that were particularly good for more regular wear, such as when outside at home, at farmers markets, on vacation, etc. I found a straw hat with a blue band that I had to have. It cost around $45, I believe, which was over my budget for the day (see the second paragraph above) but not so much to break the bank. I forked over my credit card, and I wore the hat the rest of the day. My sister-in-law and mother-in-law also got great hats.
