Smiles all round, simple good food in an albeit cramped cafe style deli in Sedgley Park. The Greek salads are good but they do standard fast food too like chips and cheeseburgers. You can have a box of Greek food to take out for a couple of pounds. When the weather is nice, there are a few tables set outside and even though its on the busy main road, this is nice enough. Definitely a favourite of mine for a little slice of the Mediterranean to add some colour to the day.

They stock a good…read morerange of meats, cheeses, olives, jams, pickles etc and fancy things in bottles and jars that you'd feel tempted to try out - leaving the shop with more than you intended to. We used to be obsessed with their roasted broad beans and their chilli bites that we couln't find anywhere else. They do a large range of sarnies, ciabattas and rolls. It's a lovely place tahat is not over priced and makes a change from the likes of Greggs. Next time your on the way to Bradgate Park (don't think it's open on sunday), stop off and stock up with goodies. You won't be disappointed

The gigantic counter displays a myriad of delicious cheeses, hams, olives, pates, anti-pasti and salads whilst the nearby baskets display fresh sticks and loaves of bread. To top it off, they have dozens of wooden shelves groaning with all kinds of lovely store cupboard treats from organic granola, cereals and cookies to oat cakes, chutneys, olive oils, vinegars, sauces and spices. Nothing complicated - in the end, I ordered a Greek salad and a plate of Serrano ham rather than the pricier mains on the blackboards. I'm not sure how two really basic things could be so disappointing. I think it's because on the surface, this looks like a place that prides itself on sourcing and attention to detail. On the specials during my visit were such items as hand foraged local samphire, Cumbrian lamb and Pink's award winning sausages. So why was the Greek salad about 50% raw onion? Why did it feature those mealy crunchy supermarket basics tomatoes, cold from the fridge? Even the black olives mentioned on the menu were green. And they clearly did have black olives in the kitchen, because my four slices of Serrano ham (almost £6) came topped with a single olive. They boasted it was "20 month aged" - most of it had clearly been in their fridge, as it featured a faint tang of refrigerator and managed to be unpleasantly rubbery. Not sure how Serrano ham can even go rubbery but there you go. If you've boasting of excellent ingredients then it's unacceptable for the basics to fail so badly. I wouldn't bother returning.

It's on the main road, attached to a Morrisons store and is…read moresupposed to be an authentic Italian deli...my expectations were not too high but I have got to say that this place is great and the people of Whitefield are lucky to have such a great deli on their doorstep. They have freshly baked bread, Italian meats, cheese, homemade icecream, olive oil, cream cakes and more. We stopped by for a small bite to eat, which turned into a big bite to eat and we will definitely be back. In particular, I would recommend the fresh bread from here and also the icecream (although not together), the quality of the bread and icecream is exceptionally high.

The desert I went for was something with an Italian name which I could barely pronounce so I'm hardly going to try and spell it now, but suffice it to say it was an amazing blend of meringue, amaretti biscuits and Nutella. We didn't sample the cafe but it was doing brisk business on a Saturday lunchtime and lots of the people were clearly regulars. The standout feature of our visit had to be the staff. Even though we were only getting a very small order, they incredibly attentive - taking time to explain the options, asking how we wanted things packing, offering to tweak the temperature of the calzone better to our suiting.

This place really stood out to me amongst the small, quaint shops and boutiques of Knutsford. The outside seating looked very inviting, but it was a little bit cold so we opted to go inside. The inside is small, no more than 8 tables - but I liked it. Warm, cosy and cute. They offer a fantastic little menu consisting of soups, sandwiches, salads and some special seasonal dishes - but we opted for some coffees instead, which were lovely. But this place is more than a cafe, The Cheese Yard also sells artisan cheeses that they buy from cheese makers all over then world, as well as and boutique wines, beers and ciders too. You can order a fantastic range of these cheeses to try with some lovely homemade chutneys and crackers. Alternatively, customers were popping in to buy selections of their favourite cheeses to take home. It really is a lovely place.

I had the pleasure of visiting cute little Littleborough a few weeks ago to do a short photography project. fair to say I was blown away by the place and in particular this tiny Deli in the heart of the village. With the city centre littered with franchises and chains, finding independant business' has become a mission of mine. Discovering this little hidden gem therefore gave me a great deal of satisfaction. I've bookmarked it and will be returning to review Hollingworth Lake a small piece of Lake District not far from here.

The Nachos with pulled pork and brisket beef was devine. The horse shoe ham on the "Not the Ploughman's Platter" was melt in the mouth delicious. Good selection of wine - definitely recommend the Malbec. All very reasonably priced, with excellent service. Definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area!

If there is something that takes your fancy or you just need a hand choosing your latest and greatest cheese board. It's not the biggest shop in the world but sometimes good things come in small packages. Prices are middle of the road to high but you get what you pay for. It's always nice to get some good cheese and this is a great place to fulfil that need.
