I used Amanda Browne first of all, until she went off on maternity leave. She was exceptionally good - she went out of her way to help me during a very difficult time in my life. After she left, I used Dean Vickery, who was a trainee solicitor. Although very different to Amanda, he was very good, and very supportive when we had to go to court. I've also dealt with the principal solicitor Ceri. I would highly recommend this local firm of solicitors if you're in need to legal help. When I used them, the first consultation appointment was free, so you can then make up your mind as to whether you're going to use them.

A bit sad writing this review…read more I used Huw Lewis for the sale of my house last year. He was a bit of a character - a bit like a Neath version of Scrooge, sitting in his Victorian style office. I heard that he passed away this year - suddenly in the office. It's a shame, as he was a very experienced and knowledgeable solicitor. The company is still open for business, but I'm not sure about the solicitors or conveyancers working there now as I haven't used them. Also, the offices have been renovated - at least externally - and look really good from outside.

Lloyd and Rowe Solicitors is a pretty understated, large shop fronted firm of solicitors on the…read moreCity Road. They don't give much away in terms of advertising what they do, there's not a single sign in sight, and they are woefully badly represented on the internet as well. I recently tried to help a friend find a personal injury specialist as he had a nasty accident when cycling back from work. He has very little recollection of the accident, but several witnesses have stated that owing to heavy traffic he was forced to cycle over a deep pothole that flung him headfirst off his bike. His facial and dental injuries are substantial, and his loss of earnings alone amount to a significant sum. He has been really poorly as a consequence, and is facing huge bills to correct the damage sustained. He is not litigious in nature, and is resistant to the idea of making a claim. I am just one of his many friends who have looked into the idea of a personal injury claim, as he was unwilling, and too unwell to consider doing this himself. Lloyd and Rowe Solicitors was one of the firms that I tried to look into on his behalf, but I soon dispensed with the idea of recommending them, when all of my research could come up with was a criminal prosecution brought against one of the partners. Mr Lloyd of Lloyd and Rowe Solicitors apparently had a low impact accident on the M4 when driving at two and a half times over the legal alcohol limit. He was accordingly banned from driving for 18 months. Hardly the best commendation for his firm!

The case was a very specialist case. As an advocate to this vulnerable woman she is now liberated from the clutches of her heritage. Thank you Llloyd and Rowe solicitors. I would highly recommend them. I would agree with Rachel regarding the shop front and the information available on the internet and perhaps from the reviews the firm will take some action and turn around their negative image.

The main one was going to "be peace of mind" the other was that it was about 5 minutes walk away. I have to say apart from the cost which was about £70 it was all very easy. Crowleys was hidden away down a back street just off City Road. I'd probably passed it hundreds of times and not noticed it. Basically I made an appointment and went along and chatted about what I wanted to do. After the meeting what I'd requested was written up in Will form and emailed to me . This was a bit of a surprise I don't think I thought of solicitor's as having email. I thought it would be a dusty office, a quill pen and some of my blood for them to write with. I emailed back and had another appointment where i signed on the dotted line and that was that. I also got some advice about funeral wishes and Living wills which was really helpful. I felt that the solicitor I saw was knowledgeable and professional and took my wishes seriously.

Lack of response to queries (taking at least a week to reply to an email if replying at all), calls going straight to voicemail and then being rushed off the phone as soon as we get through to Emma/Bethan has been extremely frustrating. On one call after pushing for an actual answer, one of Genettes assistants raised her voice and advised that if we wanted a faster service, we could pay extra. The most frustrating part of the process has been that we have had to proactively chase weekly for any kind of update and then to be rushed of the phone and spoken to so rudely has created unnecessary stress. The whole process has been held up by the unresponsiveness of the team and we are now at risk of losing the property. The service we have received has been completely unacceptable resulting in us wasting both time and money if the property falls through.
