I rang them up, made an order & arranged a delivery time and that was it. First of all the fruit and veg were huge, much bigger and fresher than the supermarket. Everything was delivered on-time and they had even went down to the market that morning and picked up the specific type of mushrooms I had enquired about (which they didn't sell). It is the little things like that which really makes the difference, I can't recommend Marc highly enough. We use them regularly now, it saves me and my girlfriend 20 minutes a week (shopping) and also because we live fairly local, we get free delivery too.

The sausages and burgers they make their are great and the meat comes from the farm, they also make a great rang of pies and pastys and cakes you can buy via the slice or the whole cake. The coleslaw from the butchers is great and goes really well with the ham cooked on the bone that they do. They do a range of puddings in the fridge and lovely frozen fruit great for pies in the freezer. There buns are fab, the best things are the corned beef slices the country barn pastys and the mars bar slices the lemon drizzle cake is also worth a try The coffee shop is great with plenty of seats there is another level off the level where you get served the food is not too expensive and if you get corned beef slices they come with crisps and salads and sometimes a little chutney The hot chocolate from here is fab It is not far from here to druridge bay and a nice little walk to the ruined chapel

Opposite the shop they have another that sells in bulk, so if you want to make a batch of something, you can buy by the crate. Negotiating Stanhope Street is interesting because of this. Watch out for the fork lift in the middle of the road unloading wagons, and people crossing back and forth without looking. A cyclist takes their life in their hands!

Although it is a small shop it has a very varied selction of fruit and vegetables depending on which are in season and which aren't. Go on give the Co Op a miss and support the local shop!

The Fruit boy offers fantastic value for money on produce that honestly tastes so much better than supermarkets and costs so much less!! I would recomend them to anyone and they do have more shops scattered around town so if you cant make it to this one they have one in Wynyard Rd and one in West view aswell!
