Their frozen foods are very varied and really good value - the frozen fish and yorkshire puddings are always popular in our house but not at the same time haha! The ice cream they sell is also very tasty and generally cheaper than what you would pay at the supermarket.

The Co Op super market is the only store of its' kind in Houghton le Spring. As it is the only main food store in Houghton, local people have no choice but to shop here unless they want to travel further a field to Tesco in Durham for example. Although the Co Op is quite expensive compared to its' rivals, the quality of the produce is very good and you can do you weekly shop with ease here. Everything is set out on the shelves in a simple manner to make it easy to find your way around.
