I just wanted a toasted bread(long) and a coffee. Paid my $9.50(kinda pricey), made my coffee(self serve, no problem)just the way I like it... Then proceeded to wait fifteen minutes only to be told they didn't have the the long bread. Ok. No problem. I'll take a buttered roll. Waited another 15 minutes and got a roll with hardly any butter on it. Ok. No problem. Do I get any money back because the long bread was $6? Nope. Do I get offered something for my inconvenience? Nope. I do speak Spanish, so I don't think there was a communication problem. So I sit outside with my dry ass sparsely buttered roll and try to make the best of it. It's a beautiful day out and I'm not going to let this ruin it. After about fifteen minutes the lady who works there came out and offered me a grilled cheese. I kindly explained to the nice lady what the problem was, refused and left to enjoy the rest of my day, thinking to myself, how do you ruin a simple thing like buttered bread? I was running errands in New Rochelle and spied this place across the street from an auto store. I took a chance -- not bad! The beef empanada (Colombian Style) was full of flavor and a good size and the pan de jamon y queso is huge (enough for two people) or a nice lunch portion. Service was okay - not friendly but not unfriendly. Price is reasonable too - 3 pastries and a coffee a little over $10. This is a solid place for breakfast or a nosh. Theres been a few times we buy the bread from G Bakery and years agonitbwas great no issues, it was delicious. Within the past year or so, I have had to throw away the bread with the cheese inside away. It has been raw and uncooked. When you go back to inform them to possibly get a refund, the workers seem to have an attitude and give a hard time to give a refund. Also just recently they start to overcharge on other food items. An example is one empanada for about 3 dollars. That's insane. Will not recommend this spot anymore due to the most recent poor food, overpricing, and poor attitude of staff. read more

I've always passed by this place when it was later at night so when I got a chance I came here one Sunday morning to get some Columbia bread, there are options such as guava bread, cheese bread, croissants and many others, I went with the pandequeso which I've had before at another Columbian bakery, it looks like a bagel or donut but it's a soft pastry with cheese flavor inside and it tastes really good and fresh, this time I only got two of those, Next time I will definitely try more items, one pleasant surprise is that this isn't just a bakery it's also a restaurant, I looked at the menu and saw some items I would try, I will be back there for sure, an important note is that the kitchen closes at 6:30 pm so it's not a dinner spot read more

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the actual food here, the real point of this place is the BAKERY!! Get the Pan de queso, and like a thousand of the buenelos (SP)? They are little round cheese-filled breads of absolute delight that I want to eat every day, however they don't stay very good for more than a day... Get one of these and maybe a chorizo and a soup, REALLY delicious and REALLY cheap lunch! Great hangover food, tell your friends! read more

I think I remember their coffee as being very very good! Food is so yummy and a good option for when you want something a little less typical but filling. Not sure about anyone else but any time I've ordered something, I liked it. Just walking by, you wouldn't expect much but its worth trying and sure beats fast food. Loveeee their arepa de choclo!!! its a corn cake with a chunk of cheese on top delicioso. this is perfect for breakfast with a nice hot chocolate. I have also had lunch there and its pretty good, prices are ok for quantity of good and it really tastes home made not like most restaurants where you see a barrel of food buffet style. I work nearby and eat from here at least once a week. They take cc but only on orders over $10 and lunch plates are usually less than that so I always find myself buying something else just to meet minimum or paying for a friends lunch, which I dont mind, but I feel like they do it on purpose... read more

I was excited to stop in with my Colombian poppa bear and my son, for a quick pick me up before we head home...hmm maybe I'll come with one of the positive reviewers and see if my luck changes! My dad came in and ordered from a gentleman with the most grim and annoyed look on his face. His expression never really changed during our visit. The woman who also took care of us had the same negative vibe. I guess you have to be a regular to be welcomed or get them to crack a smile? Never extended any greeting or showed interest in us at all. Order and pay. So bizarre. Made us feel like we needed to hurry and go lol the hot chocolate was no longer even warm and when I ordered an arepa with cheese she just pointed to the fridge and told me to get it for her. Best hangover food. Other than that one time I found a little paper sticker in my empanada three years ago, I haven't been disappointed... Yep its just that good that finding paper in my food didn't stop me from being a regular! All types of Colombian pastries. They also serve lunch but I'm not too familiar with that. Only place I get coffee from,it's so good. The Bakery food is really good,not a really big fan of the actual lunch food. Flavor is poor,i always ask for meat well done and all the times is rare. But thank god for having this bakery near my house and don't have to travel or wait an entire year to go to queens for bakery. read more
