I haven't been to a FYE in ages. I remember one that I went to up by St. Charles and the one Chicago Ridge used to have. This place is just awesome and had to take the opportunity to walk around in this place. The selection and variety of merchandise that they sell is endless. What I really liked about this place was that it sold wrestling merchandise. I do not regret spending $12 for a box of cereal even though personally the prices are a bit high. They have a fair selection of music, DVDs and other Anime like products to name a few. Definitely would love to come back. read more

FYE - They sell Booty O's! - Music & DVDs Near Me - Schaumburg, Illinois

I went to fye yesterday morning on a rush to get a gift. They could not break $100 dollars on a $60 dollar purchase. I went around the mall just to find someone who could. I purchased an item from a store for $16! When I finally got back to get my item they shorted me a couple pennies saying they did not have change. God, I honestly would never go back purely by how un-prepared they are. read more

Has been one of my favorite media stores since 2015! Friendly workers, decently organized. Pretty overpriced stuff, but that's expected with the mall. Tons of different CDs and stuff to choose from that caters to someone's interests. Awesome sauce read more

Fun place to browse for all your pop-cultural, otaku, K-Pop, collectible toy, and movie/tv-related needs. They still sell DVDs and Blurays, and even CDs (as I heard one tween marvel); my friend bought the "Hamilton" soundtrack for her mom for Christmas! Friendly staff. read more

I went there with my son Feb. 2024, I got him gifts and was told from sales person to sign for rewards, it is free, and I did not even authorize anything, flash forward to Nov. 2024 I been charge $11.99 A MONTH! I am livid and upset that I just noticed this. I am calling my bank and I called to cancel, the staff member said it wasn't his staff as all new staff now. Ok good answer - SCAMMERS! I will never shop here again. read more

Bruh do not sign up for the discount. i asked if it was a credit card or any fee. cashier literally lied to my face and told me no. literally a red flag when he asked for my id?? i should've just said no but he told me it was FREE. then he said the magazines came with it so i signed up for those too. i didn't even want to give an email but he kept ensuring me it was free and i would get a 10% discount on a $7 purchase. the cashiers are sneaky and deceiving people to meet what?? a f**king quota?? the customer service to cancel is so beyond infuriating and annoying. they try to convince you to stay for savings and a gift card THAT YOU PRETTY MUCH PAY FOR also my cashier spoke to me with his hands like a cosplayer... like bruh no wonder fye is not accredited on the Better Business Bureau, they have a D- these cashiers are literally god awful hellspawn i know fye stores aren't amazing but i didn't know that they've gotten this bad f**k fye and f**k the cashier, my personal information is probably being sold so that fye doesn't go out of bankrupt read more

So clearly they purposely scam customers as you can see from other reviews. And they obviously don't care. They lie to you about their "rewards" system then you get charged a monthly fee. Called the corporate and they also don't care. They don't apologize for it and just try to lower the monthly fee. Do not purchase from this location and company at all. The employees are judgemental about the music you purchase. Garbage read more

if you work at fye and you have a buzzcut, screw you. you signed me up for a membership without even telling me until the very end and literally it made it feel like i had no other choice but to go along with it. i don't even live here and you even pointed it out when you took my id from me. why would i want a stupid membership from a weeb store when i literally just bought some astronaut ice cream (tasted stale asf but i'm not even mad at that). this place sucks never buy anything from here they WILL trick you into buying their membership. read more

I recently bought vinyl from this fye location at woodfield mall and am so disappointed. I bought K-12 by Melanie Martinez and IGOR by Tyler, The Creator. My K-12 vinyl was scratched and skips on almost every song. My IGOR vinyl skips so badly and is so badly warped. I just bought them yesterday and i'm so sad and disappointed about this happening. VINYL HERE IS ALSO SUPER OVER PRICED!! The IGOR vinyl i bought was $36 which could have been bought on amazon for only $26. read more

Store was clean and neat, cashier asked for my email and tried to sign me up for some bull yearly subscription without informing me of any information other than it would give me 15% off. Very manipulative and miss leading. Once I realized what it was I did not accept any of the terms or agreements on the card reader. Honestly avoid the store, you can get 90% of what's there for less at like a target or Amazon read more

BEWARE OF THIS STORE!!!!! My credit card ended up with a monthly membership fee after my son bought an item one time on March 8,2022. I am still trying to get hold of someone to cancel this supposedly membership that by son does not even remember signing up for. read more

FYI, I love FYE. I'm a self-proclaimed mega movie nerd and this place is my Shambhala. Sure, they've got a great selection of TV shows, music CDs and Vinyl (both new and used), but their real prize is the plethora of films available for purchase. I had five movies in mind to buy--they had all 5; keep in mind these weren't particularly commonplace titles, either. I successfully found: 1) a Steven Seagal shoot-em-up from the mid 90's 2) a relatively recent Catonese kung fu flick 3) the Pierce Brosnan remake of 'The Thomas Crowne Affair' [rare to find in stores] 4) the 'A-Team' [Liam Neeson version--on sale!] 5) some explosive actioner with Geena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson [see below] How helpful was the staff? They loaded up IMDB on their iPhones and deduced that my #5 movie in question was 'The Long Kiss Goodnight'. Not only that, but they kindly replaced the case of #3 which got mangled/warped from their shrinkwrap machine. Very courteous and friendly people, here. The only place I've ever found a better selection of inexpensive and/or offbeat DVDs is on the Amazon.com marketplace (and that's kinda like comparing apples and oranges-that-sell-everything-known-to-mankind). If there's a mall that has an FYE inside, I'm on that like a hobo on a ham sandwich. read more

Cashier offered us a discount in exchange for a credit card or drivers license ... without any mention of it being for a yearly paid membership to their worthless "backstage pass". Prices are really high as well, a collectible I saw here was less than half the price at the target down the road. Total tourist mall trap. It was fun to browse though, I guess? read more

I'm rating this store five stars for the simple fact that it reminds me of the brick and mortar experience of finding your favorite CDs and movies, that we don't get to do any longer. Sure, Best buy is still there and sells CDs, but that is a whole different kind of shopping. Fye is reminiscent of the multitudes of records stores we once spent hours at deciding whether or not to spend our lunch money on that new hot single. Alike a Coconut's music store, a dinosaur of the 80's where we once headed right after school to pick up the latest hip hop CDs this store does all it can to represent that era of shopping. A wide selection of most every kind of music including Mexican folk which I didn't think would ever find itself within an American music store. It's like Mexican country music. FYE also carries gimmicky and popular labeled shirts. Who wouldn't want a True Blood tee or Sons of Anarchy logo t-shirt. Whimsical devices for your room, personal space or company desk. For example one of those framed art things with 50 pins which once laid atop something would mimic it's shape. Who wouldn't want that for only $19.99 What else, headphones galore, newest Blu-ray DVDs, after market works with your Apple device products, head bands, stick-able tattoos, etc etc etc. Clearance areas where you can rack up more stuff you don't need but could possible gift to someone. Like a Lord of the Rings card game or True Blood cell phone case. It's worth a look. May not have the deals that Target or Best Buy may carry, but you'll have fun looking around. To complete the experience, high school aged to college drop outs that neither enter or exit greet. They are most awesome at leaving you be. That means, they won't ask if you need help. read more

i don't recommend buying from here, the kpop albums are overpriced, i got a $20 album for $40 the map of the soul version 4 by BTS, and $20 for $30 the love yourself tear album by BTS. You can buy a keychain just for at least $10, it's ridiculous. on the website they lowered the prices a bit but at the store its different. read more

I bought something for my daughter back in October and she got it for Christmas. Well she didn't like it and I called to ask if I can return it for store credit even though it's past the 30. I was told 30 days is 30 days. Not good customer service. read more

They didn't let me test the VR that was on sale. Found out why. Pieces were broken when I got home. Getting their insurance isn't even worth the hassle of getting a new one. Better off getting one from five below. More pieces broke off but decided to glue them since I lost the receipt. read more

FYE - Music & DVDs Near Me - Schaumburg, Illinois

Never sign up for their VIP membership. It's is the hardest program to cancel just on how it is organized. I literally had to cancel my credit card for them to stop charging me. On top of that their call center is garbage and like garbage, useless. read more

This store scammed me into getting a VIP membership with them. They spoke like I was going to get 10% off and a free magazine, and I realized they scammed me into paying for card fees as well as other fees. I'm working on cancelling right now, but these people are so manipulative. read more

First off this f.y.e has moved and I think that the move didn't go well. Now I don't know if its gonna be permanent or not and I hope not. Because this place when it was in its original spot was amazing. They had so much variety in music and vinyl and movies, etc. And they were in such a big spot that you couldn't go wrong. Now they are in a small dingy little spot with not as much stuff as they used to have. I was so shocked that I didn't know what to say. I hope they get better Cause I really liked this place. read more

I like FYE. I don't love it, but it serves it purpose. I was looking for a couple CDs that my son wanted. I picked up one on sale and their staff located the other for me at their Stratford Square location. While visiting, I also talked with a gentleman on the floor about docking stations. He seemed overwhelmed, but was still nice. Working retail during the holiday season is tough. I'm grateful that I'm not in that industry. Finally, I came across two t-shirts. They were on sale. I was a happy mom/wifey. Bottom line, if FYE is on your list, it's probably worth a stop. read more

EEEK stay away from this shady place, or if you do go in, pay cash. When I went up to the cashier, the guy asked me if I wanted to save 15%. I said sure. I thought there was a sale. Then he asked if I wanted a free magazine subscription. To that I told him I would forget to cancel, and didn't want to be charged. He ran the sale, ran my card, and it spit out a separate piece of paperwork indicating that I had joined the FYE BACKSTAGE PASS CLUB. This was the first I had heard of this, and upon inspecting the damn receipt, it turned out that after 30 days, they would charge my card 11.99 a month. When I complained, they said that I could go online, or call the number on the receipt to cancel. SHADY. Great. Yet another thing to remember to do. So I finally got it cancelled today and all is well. But this is some seriously shady retail sales BS. If I was 10 years younger I wouldn't have found out until I got charged. The sales person did not mention I was subscribing to something, and when I told him I didn't want the magazine subscription because I didn't want to have to cancel another thing, he still didn't inform me that I was doing exactly that. I absolutely hate that we are now living in a world where you need to have your guard up to make sure you don't get hosed buying a dumb t-shirt. read more

They have sooo much and it's all really good. In this case, I shop there for KPOP albums and today I bought a Monsta X album and it was packed well with great quality and it was official. There lightsticks are also offical and really good quality. I recommend going here 100%!!!! read more

$19.99 for almost every CD in this place? Are you kidding me? Who buys stuff from here to keep them in business? Go to Best Buy or Circuit City. read more

I know video and CD stores are dying out, however they have a pretty good selection here, including memorabilia. Went in to see if they had a Jackyl CD, and lucked out as most store don't carry any. Staff seemed helpful, however do try to push certain items at counter. While I don't mind this, asking about 2 or 4 different items is probably a bit much. They had a large selection of T-Shirts I will be back to take advantage of. read more

I'm so dumb. I rarely use one of my credit cards and decided to start using it again. I mostly used it to donate to charities on auto-pay. I decided to use it more, requested a new card and was advised to update the number with the companies I pay using auto-pay. Stupidly, I hadn't realized one of the companies listed was an actual company/store (FYE). They have been charging me $11.99/month for 6 years. For nothing. I am a fool. And they suck. read more

Don't buy vinyl from FYE, their selection is ridiculously over-priced. All of their albums are common reissues you can get for a fraction of the price on Amazon or even at a mom and pop record shop! Also, extremely disorganized and boring selection. read more

Cut their blu-ray section by at least 75%, not to mention the ridiculous mark up that this company operates with. For example: If you wanna buy a new Blu-Ray of Lego Batman, it will be in the price range of $25-30 bucks, whereas other stores will have it for much, much cheaper. In short, it's a decent store. But I will not be back, there's nothing to be gained from this store anymore. read more

Good variety but the vinyl was insanely overpriced. Like, 50 dollars for a record that should be under 30.

They had a wide selection of vinyl with new up to date popular music for teens. I was able to find a few records that i've been trying to find. Highly recommend if you are looking for vinyl of todays music read more

Simple Review: Overpriced, and does not ever have new release stock. At times it looks like a recycled dvd and cd store. Considered it the community or known as the VH1 store, because hardly anyone shops there because the appeal is to a very select music industry crowd. Target, Walmart or other would price point be best. read more

I always go to this place at least once a week I don't know what Justin W. has been smoking, there are always great sales on CD's. I grew up on tapes and CD's obviously tapes are dead and sad to say that the CD is diminishing, I signed up for their membership program saving me 10% on my purchases I figured I might as well seeing as though I'm always there. I love that this place always has a great selection and always seem to have what I'm looking for even Rap CD's from the 90's. Plus the only place you can show up buy Dexter Seasons (on sale), a cool t-shirt and a good CD to blow out your speakers o the way home. read more
