Green Oak differentiation included owner interaction, master roofer certification, 5 star rating, excellent warranty, professional documentation and workflow management. WORK - scheduled efficiently, material arrived on time the day before, crew arrived on time the day of, work was conscientious and completed in 3/4 day (townhome), clean-up (including loose nail hunt) was impressively thorough. AFTER - received certificate of completion in a timely manner, along with photo record of repaired roof. Not being a roofer, it's difficult to assess the integrity of the new roof & shingles, however the end result appears clean and professional. Suspect the new, high-quality roof will increase the townhome value and/or decrease time to sell based on the high-quality products used and overall curb appeal of the work. This company came in and inspected the roof as well as the frame and the plywood. They gave a competitive estimate. But we were more impressed with how they explained what they were going to do. They were also patient and tolerated a lot of questions. That's more important to me than saving a few bucks. I want it done right. I don't think this is a big huge corporate business. It seems to be headed by one guy. He has 35 years experience in roofing. He has done commercial and residential roofs. We verified his license. We checked the Better Business Bureau for any complaints. There were none. We reviewed all the online review sites like Yelp. All good reviews. We asked a lot of questions. So we hired them. They started as soon as the materials had arrived. They had eight to ten fellas working literally from dawn till dusk A couple of things that I really appreciated. The owner himself inspected the work in progress especially the parts of the plywood base and the frame that needed to be replaced. He did that work himself. We have an old house. Also after they left, you would have never known that anyone had worked there that day. They cleaned up all the debris. Meeting him for the first time, he was very confident and knowledgeable. He assured me he was experienced and wouldn't take advantage of my situation by charging more than I could reasonably afford. He got on the roof and went into the attic and reassured me my roof was fine. I still didn't know where the leak was coming from. The next day Matt called me, although his role was over and there was no roof issue to repair. He said he had been preoccupied trying to figure out the leak source. He suggested I call my insurance company to file a claim and have them look for the issue. My carrier surprised me and came out the same day (Dec 31). The leak was found on a cold water line and immediately repaired. They sent water restoration people (also Matt's suggestion) who took over to address any moisture and begin to rebuild the wall and floor section that had been damaged. I am so thankful I met Matt! He is one of the last honest and caring artisans I have met in recent years. His voluntary follow up with us shows me that some people still have a conscience and do care that working people don't get cheated.
