this is the absolute worst daycare ever! If you can even call it that. It is the equivalent of asking a stranger at the park to watch your kid for 8 hours. The owner yells at the kids. My kid cried every day about having to be there. The staff is inattentive and the owner charges as much as she possibly can. My child currently attends, and I can say that I'm pretty sure that the other review was written by one of the employees. At any given moment you can hear a teacher yelling at a child. Their so called syllabus is a joke, many times I have walked in and seen their educational time, which is having the kids watching some type pbs or nickelodeon toddler show. They also claim that their teachers have training early childhood development, which also is not true. A new hire was said to have completed A COURSE as in singular. They are also frequently under staffed during parts of the day, sometimes 15-20 kids to 1 teacher. It's my opinion that the management is in it for the funding from vouchers. There are a few great teachers, if you choose to send your child here hope that you get one of them. read more

Daycare options in West Lafayette are pretty limited! My children joined Future Scholars after a previous provider closed. The caring staff and teachers have won my heart. Future Scholars provides daycare services from 6am through 6pm Mondays through Fridays. Full-time and part-time options are provided. Ages are 6 weeks through kindergarten. The curriculum is truly set to be, as the name suggests, preparatory for elementary school. Each teacher is responsible for providing her own lesson plans which include a letter/number/shape of the week, science, writing, arithmetic, and other enriching activities. The students have two recess periods per day and there are options to add additional activities such as a weekly Gym Bus visit. Unlike other daycares where the students are group by age (1's, 2's, 3's, etc), the groupings parallel a Montessori curriculum which includes divisions of infant, toddler, and preschool. The students are able to interact with a variety of other ages of children for cooperative learning. Prices are very reasonable and vouchers are also accepted. read more

Owner is very harsh, along with the teachers. There is nothing special about this daycare, just a place to drop your kids off. They don't have a routine, and the kids pretty much just sit there all day. Owner seems money hungry. read more

My 3yo has been here for almost a year and absolutely loves it. The teachers all seem to love the kids and care deeply for them. I'm a foster parent and everyone at FSA is very understanding of the struggles that come with that. read more

I wish there was a no star button because this place doesn't deserve one, let me start with the game of duck the man hole that awaits you in the parking lot waiting to pull your car under while trying to squeeze by another car or wait for them to come out so you can get in due to the parking lot being the size of a side walk,their so called potty training skills where as your child is in a change of clothes nearly every other day. Due to their lack of taking the child to the pot enough to keep them from wetting themselves but funny how he never has an accident at home. Next is the child's face how nasty it is when I pick them up to the point the director can identify what food it was he had that's how dirty his face is daily. Not to mention the dark room that ALL !!!! the children are waiting in watching tv amongst the other kids that are crying their heads off anticipating the arrival of their parent so desperate to leave they nearly walk out the door with you without anyone there to stop them because their occupied with their Favorite in their lap. Not to mention the babies hanging over the gate of the door exposed to the parking lot Lol this place needs to be observed this is a danger waiting to happen. read more

Future scholars Talks a big game be leaves alot to be desired. My children have been there over a year now. They have had lice twice and fifths disease once. There was never even a warning out for other parents, and they get hurt often get hurt often. I have on occasion heard teachers screaming at the little children while walking down the hallways. Miss Amanda whom I think is the manager talks about all the parent to the others behind their backs and makes it a point to get involved into their personal lives. She is on an anti bullying kick while at the same time helps the bully women keep their children from loving caring fathers. She will tell lies and and they will rally together. If you want your children to get bruised, beat up, and stitches as well as head lice and fifths disease by all mean take them here. if you care about the physical and mental health of your children keep shopping. read more

Took my child out ASAP! I would never recommend anyone to send their children to this "daycare". I have worked in daycares in the past and have had my child in a few and this didn't even compare to anything i have seen. The class rooms are always over ratio and they always made excuses for the concerns that i brought up. They say to have cameras in every room, they either don't work or they don't care to check them. I would NOT recomend this daycare to ANYONE. I have been in many daycares but have never been in one as run down as Future Scholars. Aside from that the staff there have horrible attitudes. The staff is also bad with answering the telephones for parents/etc. Many times i have called and no pick up or call back. They definitely need better people handling the administrative work. There are many things wrong with this daycare. The Director should be ashamed she has a degree and experience working at an elementary school and advocates sitting toddlers in front of a TV. There is a TV in every room (even the hallway) except for the infant's and one's room. At any given time, you can hear teachers yelling. I've witnessed a teacher screaming at the top of her lungs at her own child in front of the entire class and another teacher being rough with an infant. It makes me wonder what goes on when parents are not in the building. I had to complain regularly about teachers behaviors. Furthermore, the learning curriculum is a joke. The teachers sit the kids in front of a TV for class time. If your child is lucky, there are a few wonderful and loving teachers. Regardless, it doesn't change at atmosphere and culture at the center. That comes from the top down. It's a shame because options in West Lafayette are limited. This could be a very nice center but the director is detached and in denial and the assistant director is lazy and will blatantly lie about what goes on in the center. When the state has random checks at the center, they shuffle kids between the two buildings to meet the state teacher to child ratio. You will notice the turnover is very high. There is a reason for that. I do believe the teachers care about the children. This daycare does not instill good values, the way the teachers talk is very harsh. The best way to describe the environment is poor and uneducated. Save yourself time and heartache and find a different center. read more
