At a competition this spring, a number of the dancers from your studio came up to my daughter after her solo and shared that she had done a beautiful job. Your dancers are all very talented and clearly well-trained. I think it's rare to find a studio that has a positive environment that ensures good character development while providing excellent dance education.

I feel so much healthier, and the community here is so friendly. There's a great variety of styles, and the overall environment is welcoming whether you're newer to dance or more experienced. There are so many amazing instructors, but I try to never miss a class with Hanna (hip-hop). Her energy is so high and positive that it's honestly therapeutic. She's an incredible teacher who breaks down choreography in a way that makes it feel doable, even when it's challenging. I also really enjoy Loups (hip-hop) -- he's hilarious, great for fundamentals, and somehow always drops the best life advice. Also a special shoutout to Elm (hip-hop), Yuki & Brooke (K-pop), Maoka (house), and Adrianna (jazz funk) -- their classes are so much fun as well. One thing I really appreciate is their community app where they post the class videos. It is so helpful for looking back to see your progress and figuring out how to improve. It's right next to a KBBQ spot with a tiny lot that fills up fast, so I recommend street parking. If you've ever wanted to learn how to dance, this is the place to start! First class is free!

I debated for a long time whether I was going to post a review for this studio as I'm hoping what…read morehappened to me was an isolated incident and hopefully doesn't represent the studio in its entirety. But I think if potential customers have a choice to pick a teacher then it's in their best interest to know what happened with my daughters former teacher. I am copying and pasting some from my original email to the owner as it's a real time (back then) depiction of what happened. "This message is for the owner. This is ashley and my daughter hazel is enrolled in the cotton candy 2-5year old Saturday class. During today's class, midway through, miss Jennifer picked up my daughter and brought her to the lobby where she ushered her to me exclaiming "I can't do this anymore." I have many thoughts I want to express and I'll do my best to do so in an efficient but clear manner. Of course, her being two years old, she doesn't listen too well just yet but she certainly has a great time at these classes regardless. She doesn't hit any one, bite any one, scream or kick but she does play well with others and especially likes [Another students] company. Her and [student] had a great time today playing in class and I do acknowledge that hazel can be a distraction at times but again she is only 2 and at this age I imagine the classes essential purpose is for fun right now. I felt miss Jennifer kicking hazel out of class was unwarranted. There are more constructive ways of handling these type of things and getting flustered and making one girl leave in this manner (although both girls were having fun) felt targeted. Besides [student] and hazel, the other two girls were still dancing and participating so I'm not sure why it got blown out of proportion like this. I feel disappointed in how the situation was handled entirely. Hazel taking direction is a work in progress and sometimes she has good days and not so good days; but again she is just 2 years old. If the expectation is that the children must follow direction at all times then 2 year olds probably shouldn't be invited to dance. We have come pretty steady to all classes since enrolling, dressed up for the Halloween party, brought snacks and drinks; brought a friend to bring-a-friend to dance week (who ended up enrolling); pretty much we have tried our best to participate And i feel we were treated unfairly and swiftly. At this time do please cancel my daughters enrollment and discontinue further payment. I'm happy to speak with you further if you'd like to call me." The owner seemed sincere in her apology and suggested hazel take a class with a different teacher but I didn't feel comfortable bringing her back there. In fact I found out later from my friend whose girl danced in that class, the teacher Jennifer made it a point to praise the remaining students for listening at the end of class and it was extremely obnoxious.

I danced with this studio for about 8 years. While it's a great conservatory for serious students…read morewho love dance, there are several troubling aspects that I don't reflect back on fondly: - No water bottles were allowed inside the studio. This may have been to protect the floors, but water should always be available to young people doing intense exercise. - The studio has no windows and no air conditioning. - The technique students were taught forced turn out rather than working on the given flexibility of the hips. I can tell you from experience that this results in chronic knee, hip, and ankle pain (for some people). - Favoritism and bullying from the instructors wasn't unusual. Can be a nurturing environment for some, but for the students with issues or just going through the normal, lousy parts of being a teenager, this is not a kind place. - This may be true of nearly every studio, but it required an enormous amount of parent contribution. The students who fell behind or struggled were always the ones without a strong family network. The classical training from Uta and Lydia is top notch - some of my classmates have become professionals at SF Ballet, the Joffrey, and NYCB. While I can appreciate the no-nonsense, no-frills aspects of PV ballet, my mother and I look back on the experience and say, "Eh. Wouldn't do it again."

The dance team and studio director Jami Gobee puts an enormous amount of stress on these dancers and then criticizes them when they can't handle the stress. She refused to allow any medical accommodations that were provided, and repeatedly told us that she knows more as a dancer than our surgical doctor and therefore wouldn't accept the notes!! Instead of allowing accommodations, she made punishing threats and forced my child to take all of her classes when she was injured and sick. With every request, I received a cold and rigid response like the one copied from the other reviewer. Jami and her dance teachers regularly humiliated and ridiculed my child for her anxiety when they were the root cause of that anxiety, and told her that her dancing was getting worse (I wonder why....). Anxiety increased exponentially during her time at Fusion, and dropped almost instantly once we left. Jami told the entire dance team not to talk to us when we left, which speaks volumes to her character. They are all afraid of this woman. I would love to say that this is a good studio, but Jami creates an unhealthy environment for youth that I would not recommend to anyone. So unfortunate and so misguided.
