We hired experienced vendors for a reason. Why would we need a separate coordinator? We needed our own day-of coordinator. Dana was perfect. (Special thanks to our photographer, Adrian Steinbach, for recommending her.) She'd have been an excellent full coordinator if we'd engaged her earlier, but for us, it was great to bring her into the planning ~2-3 months before our wedding. She ended up providing day-of coordination and some bonus last-minute vendor coordination and planning documentation in the several weeks beforehand. She thought of all the little things we wouldn't ever even know to think about. Made sure the aisles were packed at our ceremony. Suggested fair tip amounts/standards and distributed them to vendors day of. Made sure vendors were all in the right place at the right time. Shared planning templates with us. On the day of, we didn't need to worry about anything. We just trusted that Dana would guide us through, and she did wonderfully. As a bonus, she brought in her sister the day of the event for additional support! And she made sure we had safe Hora chairs so we didn't fall off. We trust our vendor team. They do this all the time. We do this once. Trust experts. Put them in a position to take care of you and they will. Dana was fantastic.

She directed set-up and brought with her a team that handled the prep, decorating, clearing tables, and taking every worry and responsibility off of my groom and me so that we could completely enjoy the fabulous fun! I cannot stress enough how wonderful Dana and her team were. Dana and Keyed Up Events will be my go to for any future large parties/events. We instantly fell in love with the aesthetic and received many compliments from our guests about the space and decor. The brick interior gives such a warm, home-style feel to such a big occasion, and it helped our guests settle in right away. The bar was very easy to coordinate and was quick to accommodate a couple of special requests we made. If there's anything we would have changed in retrospect, it would have been establishing some sort of off-site shuttle option. Luckily, our Sunday afternoon event was on a weekend where the Vikings were out of town and street parking was readily available. Still, this isn't any fault of the venues -- just a logistical thing to consider for your day. We can confidently say we would have our event at Watson Block even if given a do-over.

We had both the ceremony and reception at Watson Block and the transition between the two was seamless. Amber was great to work with through the process as well! There were so many things happening the day of the wedding that Amber and her team handled perfectly in the background. They are. We had a wedding and reception in Seattle and a reception in Minneapolis, so I had the chance to compare what you get when you try to save money on the DJ to what you get when you spend the extra. And honestly, you get what you pay for. I won't comment on my Seattle DJ, besides to repeat that you get what you pay for. But we knew we were going to have a smaller group in the Cities and that the DJ was going to have to play a central role in the reception here. Chris was our DJ, and he was great. He was there before us, set up went fine. He rolled with the punches when a bunch of technical stuff didn't work out. He made announcements, hosted a "game show" that we did for fun, and made the 10-15 people who stayed to dance enjoy themselves. Basically, he ran the show from 6:00 to 11:00 That's not to say we didn't have the night planned out...we did. But after listening to our instructions, he pretty much controlled the room. The DJ was a professional, and so was the set up. We weren't really penny pinching on our wedding stuff, but we're not rich either. But we decided we weren't going to skimp on the DJ here, and it was one of the better choices we made during this whole process.

We've had other DJs in the past, but this was the first year that 100% of our students were happy with the music at Prom!

Liz helped write and deliver two ceremonies from our meetings, where my husband and I were mostly awkward and hadn't done our homework from the meeting prior (sorry!) and generally unhelpful with what we wanted.
