I also got stuck into an auto renewal and got injured in a class due to an instructor's negligence. She gave incorrect instructions on an exercise and then proceeded to laugh about it after realizing everyone was struggling. I injured my arm and never felt comfortable going back. I tried for over two years to get my money back for the 9 classes and they refused. I eventually gave up and cut my losses with this company. I would not recommend this studio to anyone.

I finally took the first step and chose to try a class here one hot summer day 3 years ago. When I started looking at different gyms, most of them never revealed the price of membership. A lot of gyms want you to come in first and sit you down to discuss fees. However, when I looked at 10th Planet MV, I really appreciated the transparency of membership, which made it a no brainer to sign up for a trial class. My first day, I was welcomed with a handshake and introduction by Coach Matt. Big points since I've visited other gyms where the owner doesn't even acknowledge potential members. At first, I was nervous walking in at rooster weight seeing the big cats on the mat. As the class went on, I got more comfortable and realized my Muay Thai won't do well on the ground like Rodtang vs DJ. Everyone here is welcoming and takes care of each other. Coach Matt is great at explaining techniques that make it easier to learn even without prior martial arts experience. All the coaches here are happy to answer questions you may have. Coming here feels like going to your friend's house, where you feel welcomed and at home. Other gyms I've tried felt like going to your snooty aunt's house where you feel judged and compared to your cousin who just met a lawyer from Georgetown University who has a Condo in Maryland and they're getting married soon but delaying due to prior.... I'm getting off topic. Basically, 10th Planet MV is a great place to learn jiu jitsu whether you have no experience in martial arts or want to level up your existing skills. You will learn, you will be tested against yourself, and you will meet great people.

Aaron at Ultralete Fitness is the REAL deal. I've never worked with a personal trainer, so I went…read morein not knowing what to expect. From the moment we had our initial consultation, Aaron put me at immediate ease. There's a genuine desire to help people and bring out their best. We started with a consultation, during which he answered all of my questions thoroughly. I walked out of the consultation with absolute confidence that I was going to be working with an awesome trainer. The first workout was an assessment workout during which I later found out he watches for form, endurance, but also your resilience. He wants to see how far you're willing to push yourself. I've only been working with Aaron for 5 months, but I've made more progress and have lifted heavier in these past months, than I have over 3 years when I was training by myself. The improvements to me have been more than physical. They've been psychological, emotional, even spiritual. Yes, Aaron asks for your absolute best, but you get his best in return, and he wants you to succeed. Accept nothing less than Ultralete Fitness. It's been the best investment I've made for my health, and I can't recommend him enough.

You have the choice to push yourself or ease up if you need to with no judgement. Coach Ray has years of experience both in a variety of fighting styles and recovery techniques. I have been dealing with knee pain for the last 10 years from being an ex-athlete which has led to overcompensation and pain in other areas. On and off rest and physical therapy haven't helped much. One recovery session with Ray has already made a big difference in reducing soft tissue tightness and strain. I highly recommend supplementing your workout with his recovery sessions! Coach Ray is truly so passionate about what he does--it's very clear that he genuinely cares about his clients and wants to help them achieve their fitness goals. His positivity and enthusiasm make the Punch From Home community so fun and welcoming, you can't help but want to come back even when you're still sore from the last class!

They help guide correct form and technique on the workout planned out for the day. I preferred the 5am classes and they had members who had been coming in for years visibility fitter and stronger. As a 47 yr old man, I've had many trainers over the past 20 years, but Ali has been my favorite since he is very mild mannered...he is not over the top...he is down-to-earth and focused on results. He comes up with strategies if he notices anything that needs to be fixed, i.e. if muscle gain is slowing down he points out what could be improved nutrition-wise (more protein, adding creatine). Or if muscle growth seems asymmetrical he notices and makes adjustments accordingly. Again, I can't emphasize enough how "normal" he is, as opposed to many of the OC trainers who are covered in tattoos, clubbing at night, and telling you about their personal problems. Ali is very wholesome and successful, so there is no drama with him. His boutique gym has everything you need, especially if you understand how compound movements really increase growth, so plenty of free weights, racks, cages, bands, kettles, etc, not to mention 24 hr access and a great sound system.
