Now that we are both working from home, and with school closures in effect with no end in sight, Allen has been helping us create a home learning environment for our daughters. When we first started with Allen, he set us up with a daily schedule, which has helped us set routines for ourselves and for our children. The daily schedule has been a game changer for us. Personally, my own stress has been reduced because Allen has empowered me with the advice, skills, and patience to work with my own children in an academic homeschooling kind of way. 100% recommend Allen!! Wonderful and intelligent individual!

In particular, I wanted a strong writing instructor for one-on-one writing development. Allen is super easy-going and approachable, and he connected quickly with my son. He was wonderful at helping sort through the various class platforms (for grading, homework assignments, resources, etc.) which can be quite confusing at Drake. He was super patient, giving thoughtful and helpful feedback to my son. He also helped my son devise study systems for each of his classes, making the course load much more manageable. We hope to continue with Allen on a project basis, and then restart weekly meetings once winter sports are over.

When I asked if they could offer something to us, because of the lack of results, he blamed my daughters and he said he would offer nothing to help with a future test.

My 16 Yo and I learned about Marin Test Prep at an MTP planning seminar (see website for free…read morevideo). We spoke with the presenter before and after the event, and my child immediately embraced the idea of MTP as a partner. The SAT/ACT test is a critical factor in the Univ. admissions evaluation. In order to optimize test prep, it is crucial that the test taker engage and commit to giving it a best effort and follow the program (including the incremental work which is mostly just taking actual test sections and reviewing the results with the MTP partner). We were fortunate enough to be able to work with Adam, who quickly helped my child realize that we would probably score better on the "Old" SAT, and mentioned that we could still take the "Old" SAT (something we never heard before) My child took an ACT practice test at Marin Test Prep (free 4-hour proctored test) and an SAT (Old) practice test to confirm which test worked best. Adam developed a customized study and test prep process and with a weekly 1.5 hr study session and follow up practice tests at home, I am certain that the score on the initial SAT will be significantly higher than it would have without MTP's help. Thanks to Adam's insight about the "Old" SAT, we also have a chance to re-take the test if needed. Working with Marin Test Prep has increased self confidence and decreased stress and anxiety about the test. By the time the results of our high school PSAT are available, we will have taken a practice SAT, practice ACT and 1 (or two if needed) SAT tests (w/in 3 mos) Marin test Prep offers some great advantages for students: The tips and tricks that always boost scores Understanding of the test "flows"; if you understand the test design you will score higher An evaluation of test preferences (SAT vs. ACT) with customized prep process and an Individualized 1:1 test prep support (which was an important aspect in our case) It sounds like the other reviewer might have wanted a group session, and had challenges getting the test takers committed and aligned with the process. In order to optimize your benefit from such a partner, the prospective test taker needs to embrace the process. In our case, the partnership has significantly reduced stress and anxiety, increased self confidence and will result in a higher test score. All in all, this was a great investment to prepare for the SAT and one which offered scholarly insights that will be leveraged in the future.

He has more clarity and commitment, and this is helping to support his journey towards a future career choice based on solid facts about his interests, skills and dreams. The College Planning Center of Corte Madera is a family run business that has expanded from Granite Bay Area. Lynnette the owner has over 25 yrs of experience helping college bound students. We were assigned a Councelor match and have truly marveled at how Jann Russell weaves together the results of his SAT/ACT practice test scores, personality test and their college preference questionnaires -- into a clear and customized understanding of his college trajectory. Jann came up with an impressive slide show of recommended colleges and helped make the process for our teen surprisingly stressless. We walked out of their office after the show with a clearer college action plan, and with less anxiety around the mysterious unknowns which parents and college bound students often feel about the process. We continue to benefit from their vast experience and look forward to visiting the colleges they've specifically recommended for him. He'll eventually have guidance with college essays, and can dip into their proprietary software anytime which guides him to study online exactly which test questions he needs help with based on his practice test results. Overall, an outstanding service. Worth every penny. Highly recommend

Both of my parents are immigrants and as they try their hardest to help me achieve my goals, they did not have much information on how to apply to colleges or what colleges I should even apply to. That was when my friend referred me to the college planning center where I was given my very own college counselor, named Rajani Rao who showed a deep care in seeing my success in this college process. Every step of the way she gave me direction and deadlines ensuring I would get all of my applications done on time. Whenever I needed help with anything I was able to turn to her incredible knowledge and get a fast, swift, and helpful answer. She made the college application process, which is an extremely stressful one, more enjoyable, easy and she showed that she believed in me throughout every step of the way. I ended up getting in to one of my dream schools and I could not have done it without the college planning center's and Rajani's incredible help. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone looking for help and guidance through their college application process! -Selihom Kibrom, Class of 2024 Going to Cal Poly Slo!

I had my son tutored one on one for about 6 sessions with Tyler to prepare for the SAT in June. My son had taken the SAT once before and wanted to increase his score. He took the June SAT and sadly his score dropped. It was a huge surprise for my son because he felt confident that he had done well on the test and actually had time to go over his answers. We even contacted the SAT board and had his test hand graded to make sure there was no mistake. I'm not sure what happened but I was not anticipating that his score would go down, especially after all the tutoring that my son had. However, I posted a review on Yelp explaining my experience with Lifeworks. Jai then reached out to me personally to see how we could remedy this situation. He very much wanted my experience with LifeWorks to be a positive one. He listened to my concerns and my side of the story and then shared his side and offered to meet me half way on a reimbursement. I was grateful that he was willing to do this and felt like that was a fair outcome for both of us. I have a number of friends whose kids were tutored at Lifeworks and have done well. Even though my son didn't do as well on the SAT as we would have liked, my experience with the customer service at Lifeworks was exceptional.

In the beginning, we chose this school for its strong and nurturing environment, where every detail--from the physical space to the daily rhythm--is thoughtfully designed to support children's growth and learning. Over the years, our appreciation for the school has only deepened. We are especially grateful for the dedication and care of the teachers and staff, who not only support each child as an individual but also foster a sense of community among the students. Contrary to some misconceptions about Waldorf education, this school offers a progressive approach that truly prepares children to be thoughtful, engaged citizens in the modern world. We feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such a special school community.

He can be shy, but he quickly formed strong bonds with his teachers and made friends faster than we expected. Within the first week, we noticed a real shift. He became more confident, independent, and better regulated at home. It truly felt like he had been longing for something he finally found. The school's emphasis on rhythm, storytelling, singing, nature, practical work, and the seasons suits him beautifully. He especially loves starting each morning with a short run near the ancient oak tree before circle time. The time spent outdoors has been incredibly grounding for him. The campus spans ten acres, with plenty of space for the younger children to explore and a separate area for the grade school students. The parent community has also been a wonderful surprise. Families are welcomed with coffee and tea at drop-off, which creates space to connect with other parents and the staff. There are also parent groups, music evenings, lectures, and seasonal festivals throughout the year. Most importantly, our child is genuinely excited to go to school each morning. As busy working parents, we feel very grateful to have found this school. We would wholeheartedly recommend Marin Waldorf School to families looking for a warm, nurturing, and thoughtfully run early childhood program.
