To be fair food is lovely,we visit quite regular ,we always order a portion of fried onions to accompany our meal ,we were warned that prices gad gone up which is fine ,but when we checked the bill the onions had gone up from £2 to £6.80 which in my opinion is scandalous. read more

Yes yes yes YES. After a long journey and a rather severe hangover, all I wanted to do was curl up in a ball and eat Chinese food in by hotel room. Luck would have it that just round the corner was one of the best Cantonese restaurants in the city - mother may I?! Yes I may! So I ordered pretty much as much as I could. Starting with the prawn dumplings and Sui mi - the prawn dumpling were made to perfection fluffy on the outside and a large prawn in the middle. The Sui mi too were very meaty and exactly what I'd want and expect. Next the meat spring rolls - really great size and absolutely packed with rich meaty goodness. One of my favourite dishes by far. Then a quarter duck with all the trimmings. The quarter duck was a large portion and was perfectly crispy with beautifully textured meat once you broke through the skin. Delicious. Lastly a special chow mien with a side of curry sauce (I love my curry sauce). The chow mien was a drastic ratio meat and veg to noodles - the prawns in particular were huge. Not overly greasy and there was no lack of sauce either. The curry save for me was a tad on the coconut side but this was Cantonese curry not Chinese so it worked. For all this plus a sweet and sour chicken and a steak in Cantonese sauce it came to £50. Which is an absolute bargain if you ask me - all the portions were large and of a fantastic quality and if I ever head to the area again I would definitely return for a sit down meal. Poor food , high prices and slow service - wish i had gone to bed instead! The staff were bored and seemingly disinterested in service , the food was frozen and the prices were somewhat high for what was being served! I ordered the fried rice at £3.50 with Shredded Crispy Chicken with Chilli OK sauce £9.50 and a Kopparberg as offered by the bar guy at £4.99 - If he had told me the price I would have gone for a water - is that really what a cider costs these days! Ok so the chicken was obviously frozen and any cook can tell this from the off - the OK chilli sauce was just that bland and with hardly any kick to it and the whole mess was virtually flavourless and took over 20 minutes to arrive which is poor for such an easy recipe like this. Whilst I was there a family were allowed to have their screaming kids riding around on a bicycle between tables and running and fighting which was disgraceful in any restaurant but the manager didn't seem to want to do anything presumably because the family were of "coloured persuasion" and is oft the case the fear of the race card becomes immediately apparent so manager with no cahoonas - not good! The place itself could do with a Gordon Ramsay makeover as it was as bland and red as my chicken chilli goop with utterly no atmosphere whatsoever; i actually found it quite a depressing experience and the servers didn't ask me how the meal was or perform any form of customer service , so no tip there then! I was recommended by the bar owner of a nearby bar who said everything closes at 9pm in Caernarfon except Fu's which stays open till 10pm so though I would take his advice - guess he was lying and what he really meant is Caernarfon is a ghost town after dark and the only place that stays open is Fu's - that would have been more accurate! The rest of my party went to bed and ate their Morrisons sandwiches and free hotel coffee - wish I had! read more

Wonderful! Sweet and sour chicken and the vegetable fried rice with prawns...fabulous! Some of the best Chinese food I've had. I did take out and the containers were great too!!! Good size portions as well. read more

Fantastic place, very trendy, food was excellent with good size portions, shame there is no kids menu, we had to order full size meals for kids but they ate the lot. Price was on a par with similar restraunts in the area. Staff were very nice and friendly too. Will deffo go agian read more

I absolutely love Fu's, its the best place in North Wales!! I go there on a regular basis and the food and service is fantastic!! The staff are friendly and professional and the food is the best Chinese food I have tasted by far..and I am well travelled!! I was shocked to read the last two reviews, either they don't know a good thing when they see it or they simply don't know what they are talking about! Fu's is one of only a handful of excellent Chinese / Cantonese restaurants in North Wales. I use the house between six and eight times a year and have never been let down. As a professional caterer of thirty years plus, I am careful as to where i eat and where I take my friends and family. The recent adverse comments regarding this restaurant, in all my experiences, are completly unfounded. I last ate there two weeks ago and there were NO indications of any deterioration in the food, service, cleanliness or any other aspect of our experience. I should further add, that I do not attract any special attention when visiting, either in discounts or any other guise. I have no connections with the restaurant and write wholly impartially. I would be very saddened to see such a good eatery fail. read more

The 3 of us went at 12:30pm lunchtime. Restaurant was totally empty and gloomy despite smart decor. Starters acceptable, but too expensive, mains terrible! Tough meat, tasteless sauces, cold plates. Service slow' despite being empty. We thought our food had arrived, but no, it was for the waiters. They seemed to be enjoying THEIR lunch standing up at a counter nearby. Obviously they got their order in before us! We were never asked if things were OK. Time to leave and a disinterested lady took my money in silence. After paying ( I'm kicking myself now!!) I enquired why she also didn't ask about my dining experience. She looked stunned and asked 'why, was something wrong?' I told her that we thought the food was very poor and we would never return. You may think that this may have provoked at least an apology, but nothing. I left in silence. If this sounds like your kind of place, you won't need to book. read more
