Katie was our salesperson. She seemed very sweet. I told her my last set lasted me 17 years and I wanted the same from a new couch. I went in many times testing different furniture. Never did she advise me against the Ashley couch I was looking at. We ended up buying it and have only had it less than 2 years and the fabric is pilling horribly to the point of thinning the fabric so much it will need to be replaced soon. When they delivered it, it also had a broken off foot and was scratching our hardwood floor without our knowledge. When I talk to Katie about the problems, she told me that it was my fault because I was cheap. Wow! Absolutely zero customer service or even compassion. I was absolutely not being cheap! I relied on Katie being honest with me and she clearly wS not. I will never set foot in that store again and will tell everyone I know that's looking for furniture of my experience there. My boyfriend and I had found a nice side table at our local Furniture World. We liked it so much we wanted to get two. We were told that they only had one in stock and that they could pick up another at another location close by. We paid for the two side tables same day and only took one. We were given a time estimate of about a week. A week went by and we didn't receive a phone call so we called first the first time. They said it accidentally went to the wrong location and that it would be another week. We had to call to find out that information but we weren't upset about it. I called again after another week passed and I was told that they were still working on bringing the second side table to town. I asked if they knew where the table was, because we would've picked it up had they known. But they weren't sure as to where it was yet. I had let the gentleman know that the employee who sold us the side table should call us back since he hadn't done so at all. I was assured that they would make sure he would contact us. Another week went by and my boyfriend called the store again asking when the table would be at our local store for pick up and an employee told him it was already there. I'm usually pretty laid back when it comes to things like this but this insane lack of communication is really unprofessional. We would've purchased side tables somewhere else had we known beforehand what the customer service was like. I had no issue waiting for them to get the second table but they couldn't at least let us know an updated estimated time or when it had arrived??? This is THE LAST place I will ever buy furniture from. We were advised 2-3 weeks delivery for some of our furniture. When I called them for an update 3 times I was told they'd call back- and 3 times they didn't. Waited another week- it was the holiday- people get busy- called AGAIN. Katie finally returned my call. THEY never placed the order! Now, I am beyond pissed. Finally she says they can deliver what they have, can substitute the floor model dresser and deliver today- Sunday. Not ideal but at this point I'll take what I can get. Get a phone call at 12:30. Delivery scheduled for between 4 & 6. At 5:57 I call them. Only to be told it will be another 40 minutes until they deliver. I am so angry! We need more furniture (ALOT actually) but I'll go buy some lawn furniture before I'll ever buy from here again. My husband and I went here looking for a theater couch. They had a lot of options and we settled for a 2k two recliner with a center that drops down with extra cup holders, storage under the arm rest. Amber was very helpful when we asked and allowed us time to look at things on our own. When we first got there and did not go inside yet, I was not sure where anyone was there. I was hoping they were not a product of several years before and had to close. Luckily for us they were open they had a large selection of easy chairs, dining tables, kitchen tables, beds, bed frames and Dressers. This was over a month ago. We came back again looking for China cabinet. However, this China cabinet seems to be some thing, that not a lot of people are buying these days. Amber, however, got into searching for different China cabinets for me to print them out with prices and sizes. She has excellent customer service. I will definitely go here again because we possibly may be buying our China cabinet through them too. read more

DO NOT GO HERE: I took my 88 year old father in to look at recliners for him and my mother. Told the lady, Amber, who greeted us what we were looking for. She pointed to where the power and non-power recliners are, then proceeded to go sit down while we meandered through the selection. They have a lot, and all but one that saw were over $749.00. He fell in love with a dual power reclining loveseat that had lumbar and head support, as well as storage, cup holders and usb ports. We were shown two options that they had in stock. He picked one. I helped the stock boy load it into my truck m, and brought it home. After getting it into the house and unwrapped, we found one of the control panels was missing, one of the arms was loose/wobbly, and it didn't have the power cords. This was just over $2,300 for ONE loveseat. When they opened the next morning I called and spoke to Kati. She apologized, and said we could bring it back. I asked that they pick it up, she complied. After discussing replacement options (6-8 weeks to order a replacement), my father decided to order the original one he fell in love with since he was going to have to wait. She said she would take care of it and match the price. Great! Well, my father went down to the store by himself to ensure they were ordering the right one. He came home having paid in additional $866 and some change, for a different one that they just happened to have in stock. She did not match the price, and she charged him for a protection plan that was waived by Amber on the original love seat. When I called, she stated that she had knocked $200, and that the protection plan was never waived, it was just grouped in the price. When Amber explained the love seat to being with, she said it had a manufacturer lifetime warranty on foam, material, frame, etc. and 5 years on mechanics. So why did he need a protection plan at all? I feel like my elderly father was completely taking advantage of, since he was by himself this time. The customer service was absolutely horrible! All of the furniture is overpriced. I wonder how they would feel if it was there family being taken advantage of?! read more

They have good sales and friendly staff. Ordered several items of furniture. A new bedroom set and 3 additional dressers along with a new chair for the living room. The orders took a long time to be delivered. There were 2 identical dressers, but I ordered only 1. The 2 identical dressers that I had ordered were not on the truck. The guys put together the bed frame and there was also 1 of 2 storage drawers missing. They called the manager and I spoke with him and he corrected the information for my order. When I got to putting the hardware on the bedside tables and large dresser, there was only 1/2 of the hardware needed for the dresser. I called and had the hardware ordered. It took a few weeks to have the dressers that were missing the first time to be delivered, once they arrived along with the missing storage drawers for the bed frame and the missing hardware from the large dresser, everything was beautiful. The people I spoke to there were very helpful with correcting the order and kept me updated as to the status of my order.The delivery guys were polite, very fast, and clean. Even though there were a few bumps with my first order, I ordered some furniture for my relative who waited a couple of weeks for a power chair to come in before they delivered her items, but everything was perfect. The delivery drivers removed an extremely heavy sectional sofa, love seat, and chair and gave me time to run a vacuum real quick before they brought in her new furniture. The same crew of two that had previously delivered the furniture items to my home. If I should find any furniture items I need in he future at their location, I will order from Furniture World again. read more

We went to this store for a couch and big recliner, saw what we wanted and paid for it in full, with the promise it would be on the delivery truck in 2 weeks. After not hearing anything from them we call and they stated it would be another week, waited 2 weeks called back and same thing, this has happened 3 or 4 times. They did not call us at all, we had to call them every single time. I am going today to get my money back and would not suggest shopping there if they don't have it in stock. read more

Our sales gal (Sharity) was initially nice and helpful, price was good for for a custom made to order sectional. We had a bit of a bumpy ride in the building process and a little bit of a delay in the couch getting finished and delivered to the store but the staff were pretty patient. I would have liked to see the sales and management staff (Amber) have a little more ownership in the errors that occurred from the time we ordered to the completion but we are overall very satisfied with the final product. We ordered a sleigh bed for our daughter for her birthday. Placed the order well before to get it in time. Was told 2 weeks, which sounds like what they tell everyone. Right on the 14th day I call to see if it's ready. Was told the rails were backordered. We had to wait longer. The entire order finally came in after 4weeks. Never once got a call from the store on anything. I made all the inquiries. Seems like their problem is estimated arrival and delivery times. People are nice enough but customer service needs to improve. You are getting our money after all, least you could do is take better care of us. read more

Yolanta was an excellent salesperson and was very patient and knowledgeable in helping us find the right reclining loveseat. When we found the one we wanted, it turned out to be a part of a set. Yolanta asked her manager if it was possible for us to purchase it individually. Her boss then shouted to us--across two rows of furniture!--that it was NOT possible to sell individually. Then in a contradiction he added, it would 'be $268 extra dollars and no one would want to pay that.' I don't know if the manager is trying NOT to sell furniture, or he didn't like us because we were a same gender couple, or what. However, that is some of the worst sales management I have ever witnessed. He should take tips from Yolanta who walks up to customers, welcomes them, discusses options, and both wants to make customers happy and sell items to keep Furniture World open. We had decided upon a $1,500 budget for a loveseat and additional side chair we had already picked out. Instead, we left the store without any items and went to Elam's--where the management is as professional as the sales staff. read more

We were not at all happy with our experience with Furniture World in Longview. We went in and spent a considerable amount of time picking out furniture. Our sales lady was very friendly and knowledgeable. I guess they have to be to get the sale though. There was no negotiation on price and when we asked if we could get a deal on end tables for spending so much on furniture, we were told a straight out "no". We ordered our furniture and were told that delivery - which was $60 extra - would be in 1-2 weeks. Printed right on our receipt it said delivery in 1-2 weeks. Waited 2.5 weeks and still hadn't heard from them. Called the store and was told it would be another week before our furniture would be in - but only part of the order was scheduled to arrive the next week. Was told the furniture would be in on Monday and delivered on Tuesday. I arranged to take Tuesday off work. They were supposed to call me on Monday to give an estimated delivery time for Tuesday. I waited until Monday afternoon and called. I was then told that not even part of our order had arrived. Needless to say, I was very upset. I asked how they can keep promising delivery dates and not adhering to them. Was told they have no control over when the factories ship pieces. Maybe they shouldn't make promises to customers if that is the case! I asked to speak to a manager and was told she was the manager. I asked if they were going to give us any sort of compensation for messing up our order. She asked me to hold and when she came back on the line a few minutes later, our furniture was apparently in the warehouse. Part of our order was delivered the next day. My husband is very skeptical and wonders if they just delivered what was in the showroom. So, final piece of furniture is supposed to be in the following Monday. My husband goes into the store and is told it won't be in until Wednesday. At this point my very angry husband cancelled the order for the last piece and got a refund. We will NEVER go this store again. We were considering buying end tables, coffee table and gorgeous $1,500 dining set but we will not be buying anything ever again from this business. When we first called we were told it would take a few weeks and cost close to 300 we said ok to get them on order. 3 weeks went by nothing. called they had not been ordered they took our information again and we told ther would be no charge because of warranty. we got 3 of four cushions one was wrong after another 4-5 weeks. another 4 weeks no cushion. 3 months and we are still tring to order. we are now being told we have to pay for the 3 cushions before they will reorder the one that was wrong. ... read more

It took about 20mins for anyone to even ask us if we needed any assistance after we had walked in. We went in to get a recliner, coffee table, chair and a set of bunk beds with mattresses ... after waiting and waiting and waiting in between ordering pieces we left with a chair and bunk beds being ordered , was told they'd call me in a week to confirm a delivery approximately 2 weeks out from order date. After 2 weeks of not hearing from them i called in to find out what the status was of our order. At which point i was told they'd arrive early the following week (so that puts us at 2.5 weeks) and confirmed a delivery date of the end of the following week (now we've waited over 3 weeks to get our furniture) i take off work for the date of delivery and called the store at 11am to maybe get a window of time it'd be delivered. The lady was insanely rude - didn't even ask me my name, order or address and told me 'between 12 & 6' and hung up. I call back at 3 since i still haven't heard from them and am told at this point "part of the order wasn't delivered to the store and manager Jesse will call me back" waited over an hour for the call back from manager Jesse to set up yet ANOTHER delivery date. Needless to say we're taking our business elsewhere from now on. This is a very poorly organized business. Hopefully the other locations have a better system. read more

I actually have a very opposite experience from the reviewer posted. I bought a couch, love seat that matches the couch and a dining room table. I needed to furnish my house quickly so I went to this store and I was pleasantly surprised by the furniture and prices. I bought the furniture right of the showroom floor. They asked me when I wanted it delivered, told me the dates they could do it and I got it delivered in a week. The only thing I didn't appreciate was the $60 fee to deliver the couch and they drove it like 10 minutes. That is a little steep. They did give us discounts on the showroom floor. read more

My wife and I are extremely frustrated, and annoyed with the customer service in furniture world in Longview. When we went in, the sales person was very nice and seemed knowledgeable in the products they offer. We purchased our furniture which is a couch, joint recliner seats, and a huge circled chair. we received the couch and adjoining recliner chair within 2 weeks, but we didn't receive our chair until several months later. We also purchased the warranty to have our furniture either repaired or replaced. during our use of the couch, we noticed a tear in the fabric and string that is falling apart so we called in reference to our problem and was told that someone would be out to take pictures. no one showed up on the appointed date and time so I called again. This went on for several months and now it's September and still I got excuse after excuse. "The customer service representative is off until Thursday, you'll have to call back then." This business seems to not care about their customers and their products are priced pretty high. I would not recommend anyone doing business with Furniture world due to their lack of customer service and honoring their warranties and insurance plans.
