I don't usually write reviews but this is an unusual case so I have to. Our chaise cover ripped so we asked for a replacement. After about two years and three attempts at getting this replacement we finally got it (we weren't trying very hard to get it, this last time though we stayed on top of Furniture Plus about it). Once the new cover came in I went into the store to get it and the woman goes into a back room and returns with the cover in a McDonald's bag. It was actually hilarious and I was laughing pretty good about it because it is just so odd. Even the woman who gave it to me told me she had no idea why it was in the McDonald's bag. But when I took it home a family member pointed out a grease stain on the bottom of the bag. After that I was a little grossed out. I checked the chaise cover and there was no stain, the stain didn't seep through the bag either thankfully. What kind of business practice is that? Why even put it in a bag at all? Just hand me the cover. I don't want my new cover in your bag your lunch came in an hour prior. read more

3rd review- the final word. I have to give the owner 5 stars. He is friendly and really wants to please his customers. With the fiasco on the futon and the delay of the delivery I had to go back in to settle up on a problem with the futon. Greg was very easy to work with in getting me a new futon. The delivery process went well. The two men were friendly and took care of every thing. The new futon is working out well and I am happy. So, the main problem I see is with the communication within the store. Greg called and left me a message asking if everything went well. I returned the call and was on hold for four minutes when the lady came back and asked who I was waiting for. "Oh, he's not here. Me- Okay, well I would like to leave a message. her- you can call him back in a couple of hours me- can't you take a message and give it to him? her- silence, then yes me- Please let Greg know that everything went well and I am pleased. All is good and thank you. Now, will he get that message? I don't know, but I will stop by one day and check. I will say the front desk women (my experience) just pass things on and don't want to help. I think they have been there a long time and just don't care anymore. Not overly friendly either. I know he has been doing this for 40 years but his salesman should not be setting up deliveries. Once they are done, their part is done. They should have a delivery department, so the customer doesn't have to wait for the ladies to find the salesman and then have to wait to hear back from them. They are busy enough. Just my personal opinion and observance of how to take care of the issues, I dealt with. Having worked with the public in my job and having owned two business I am very picky about customer service. Greg, the owner was very apologetic for the problems I had and worked hard to make it right. I think he did... I'm giving them two stars because I did ultimately get a good couch. But the fact that it took almost 2 months to get it, I called them 37 times in that time(yes I counted). And never once got a call back,And I paid $800 in cash as a down payment. The guy I bought the couch from was a guy named Billy, I was lied to multiple times when he said he would call me back, he never did, and I was told I would get an extra month on my same as cash loan payment since I had to wait so long to get my couch. That was also a lie, I'm not sure if it's just the guy I got but he literally did nothing but lie to me once I gave him money. He refused to call me back, and seemed more irritated than anything when I tried to get a straight answer. Again I did ultimately get my couch, but that was only after a threat to report them to the Better Business Bureau and showing up with the police to get my money back. I am happy I got my couch but I would never do business here again. EDIT: it's amazing how quickly they responded once this review went up. It's like companies don't care until you publicly call them out on their BS or something. But ironically the only thing they want to talk about is the loan date not being changed, no mention of how unprofessional their employee was, only care about the money aspect of it. No big surprise there. EDIT 2: completely forgot to mention that one of the reasons I had to wait so long was because the couch I originally purchased, that I explicitly asked if it was in stock, which they replied to with "absolutely". Was sold to someone else after I had purchased it. When I asked if I could purchase the floor model with a small discount I was told that was already sold as well. Not the most aggravating thing that happened, but it did start the whole chain of events, because if I hadn't been sold a couch that wasn't actually in stock then I wouldn't have had to wait to begin with. read more

I've purchased furniture there a few times and each time it has been a big hassle. Just always have gave them the benefit of the doubt. The last straw was the manager, who openly sits out at his desk in the middle of the showroom, verbally become irate and cuss at a customer over the phone. This went on over an extended period of time. About as professional as a Waffle House after a party. I will never shop there again. read more

MILITARY BEWARE!!! I so wish I could give negative stars. We got an entire living room set from them. The couches were damaged when we got them but being under warranty we sent them to be repaired. For 6 months it has been constant back and forth sending pieces back, one piece they kept for 2 months! We get it back and it wasn't repaired and had a NEW rip in it. After 6 months we just gave up...we got so sick of not having something to sit on. We told them we were going to complain to the base (THEY SHOULD BE BLACK BALLED) and Better Business Bureau, they said they would compensate us for our time and frustration. Just went to this store for the first time to see what they had. First off, the Salesman were extremely pushy from the moment you walk in the door. Worse than going to a car dealership. In less than 10 minutes I had 4 different salesman trying their best to keep me in the store and make me buy something to the point it was very unprofessional. Even had one guy run out to my truck as I was putting my toddler in the car seat to try to get me to come back inside. I went here for the Labor Day sale. It was the first place I went to for the day because I was interested in shopping around. The salesman was stalking us around the showroom even after I told him that I just wanted to browse. I found a couple couches that I liked but I thought I would leave and come back, they stopped us about 5 feet from the door and said they could work with me on the price and lowered it $80. After I decided to go ahead and get the couches, they also told me that there was free same day delivery. They gave me a delivery window from 4-8. I called them at 7:30 to check and see if they were still coming and they ended up arriving at about 7:45. I'd like to note that they told me I would be getting a couch that wasn't the one on display, because I noticed a small stain on it. The one they brought me was the stained couch. The delivery people don't know how to correctly put bunk beds together with out Cross threading screws putting my daughter's lives in danger then got a captains bed for the boys the delivery people yet again scratched that all to heck..... I bought a loft top coffee table last Christmas. It was supposed to arrive before our PCS, which it did the night before at 9 pm. When it arrived it had no box. It went from their truck to the movers and shipped off to our next duty station. When we finally got into a house and got to see the table, it was broken in numerous places. So they sent us new hardware and new top to the table, which ironically we can NOT install ourselves. So I called the store to see what they'd be able to do for me. I've not yet received a call back, but a collections letter for not paying FOR A BROKEN TABLE. I'll gladly NEVER shop here again and y'all everyone else out of shopping here. I would have been better off spending twice the amount at a legit store that would actually care about their customers and the service they provide especially to a military area. Buy local! I had to buy a refrigerator ASAP after hurricane Florence. After going to several of the "big box stores" in Jacksonville, and discovering that they were either not making deliveries or the wait would be 1 to 2 weeks, we decided to try some of the smaller local stores. I will start by telling you that Furniture Plus is not a "glamorous" show room, but the furniture and appliances are the same as seen in other stores, and their prices can't be beat! It was 4 o'clock in the afternoon, and after explaining that our refrigerator had been damaged due to the hurricane, they arranged for a free delivery that same night! Paul Smith is the sales person we worked with. Give this store a chance! After comparing notes with my neighbor, I found that Furniture Plus has helped other people acquire specific pieces of furniture that other, larger stores in our area had overpriced. Furniture Plus was able to get her the specific sofa she wanted quickly and at a much lower price. As for the sales people there, we worked specifically with Paul Smith. He was not "pushy". ( I have seen other comments that stated the sales people here are pushy. In ANY furniture store, if you need time to think, just tell the person that you want to browse alone for a while and discuss things in private. Then tell them that if you have any questions, that you will find them specifically. Get their name. When other sales people try to swoop in, let them know that you are working with "so and so". Most sales people work on commission, and other sales people will swoop in if they think you are alone, and in need of help.) Bought a bedroom suit off there showroom floor catalog and because I couldn't see it I asked what was it made out of and the quality and the salesman said Ma'am we only sell high quality furniture... well that was a lie a year later but bedroom furniture is falling a part and still owe them money on it. The finance department are like a bunch of vultures waiting for their money and don't care what is going on with you as long as they get it. I came from a doctor's appointment on January 6th to discuss an upcoming surgery I am having done. A man from their finance department calls and states how we had made a substantial payment on December 5 but was a few dollars short and Januarys payment was coming up. I reminded him that my wife handles it. So the next day he calls me back stating how he tried to reach my wife and couldn't. I let him know she will be in next week to pay which coincides with our payday to his response when? I let him know Thursday or Friday. I wouldn't be surprised if this guy tries to call me the minute I get out of surgery in recovery Friday. That's how bad this place is. We stopped and found a set of chairs. We place the order 10/28 and expected to have them delivered 11/2. I was contacted by the store and told the chairs are discontinued and the store doesn't do refunds only exchanges. This is not how a business should operate! What happened to taking care of customer? They promise same day delivery so my wife and I ordered furniture from them they said the furniture would be delived on the 20th of the month they never called so my wife called them then they said that it would be the 21st cause the 20th was a holiday so on the 21st she called again they told her it would be the next few days it is now the 28th so we had called them they said they could deliver it next week I told them I did not want to wait that long due to the fact it was previously promised so they started to get snippy so I got snippy back so then I asked them for my money back I gave as a deposit they told me that our first payment and deposit was not refundable and that either I took the furniture or changed it to something else but I could not get my money back so beware folks they are a money bucket that takes and doesnt give anything in return especially customer service! read more

I stopped in for the heck of it looking for a recliner. Very pushy salesperson, I didn't want to be rude so I gave it a chance. Bought a recliner and a sofa table, delivery took 3 weeks which wasn't bad, I received a phone call saying the furniture was in. it took a bit of persuasion to pinpoint a delivery date. Well after going to the store and discussing this with the salesperson, he told me that they would probably be able to deliver the furniture that day. The truck arrived about noon, when the driver opened up the truck, a bed frame came sliding down almost falling out of the truck. Looks like they threw all the furniture in it. Feel sorry for the owner of the bed frame. I then was told the sofa table wasn't on the truck because they had trouble assembling it The chair was brought in, luckily without a scratch, but noticed the Velcro was coming undone where the flap on the back attaches. For the money I paid shoulnt have had Velcro. Just all around a lousy operation. Would not ever shop there again read more

You know, I know times are very weird right now but lying still isn't ok no matter what is happening. I went in 2 weeks ago and immediately purchased a new sectional. No haggle, I knew what I wanted and the salesman (Billy) said he would have it in within 2-3 weeks. I said great! I had stopped by 2 other stores and they had said they were backed up (cough cough being honest!!) and he said nope, we'll have it in sooner. Purchased right away, we've had the room ready for its set up for the past 2 weeks. I called today for an update and surprise surprise, Billy says it's not showing up as being available until JULY 18th. I'm floored and can't believe it. And of course goes on and on about "these times". No man, it's not about "these times" it's about honesty. The other stores had NO problem being honest about delivery time. Because of this dishonesty, I'm now worried about the delivery and the set up. We'll see how it goes but this furniture store is definitely off my list of places to shop in this area. read more

I liked this place because I was able to make payments but it's not even been a year and the couches are poor quality. Not very firm and the only people who sit on my couches are me and my two young daughters, so the wear and tear shouldn't be this bad so soon. Also, every time I go to make a payment the sales people try to get me to buy more even when I tell them I'm just making a payment. They have literally stopped me at the door trying to make a sale. If I could rate them lower then one star I would. We purchased a new living room set and bedroom furniture from here and it has been the biggest mistake ever. Our living room loveseat looks like it has been cut and the back of the chair is scuffed on the top of both sides. My husband and I both have called several times to be told they would give us a call back within 20 minutes and naturally they never called. Our bedroom furniture was 2 weeks late on delivery. We called on Friday and were told it was on the truck and they would have it here between 4-8pm that night, 8:30 that night I called because we had no bedroom furniture and was told that we were not on the list for delivery that night. The following business day when they finally bought the bedroom furniture and they forgot the extra nightstand that we purchased. The delivery guy said he would make sure his manager was aware of the damaged furniture and missing nightstand and that we would have it by the end of the day. Of course, we didn't receive the nightstand nor did we receive the return call. We only received our nightstand because my husband went up there and another sales associate helped him. The front desk employees completely blow you off if you call up there for anything other then paying them money. I called Paul our salesman to express my aggravation and he hung up on me. My problem is still unresolved. I will make sure to tell everyone I know to give their money to another company that actually values their customers' satisfaction and that gives their customers what they are paying them thousands of dollars for. read more

Never will I EVER step foot in this place again. I walked in this past weekend to just LOOK around and window shop. When I first walked in there was a guy sitting at a table near the Tvs that worked there, he was nice, asked me what I was looking for. And I told him "Im JUST looking, nothing in particular" and he was nice and said "Alright, just let us know if you need anything" im looking around and get to the back and tall slender older guy comes up to me and starts asking me what im looking for. I told him " Im just looking thanks" and he goes " what are you looking for" and i was nice again and said " Im JUST looking around getting and idea of what I want eventually....then he persists to ask me about my financial situation asking how much I can put down today. I told him again. I am just looking right now. He hands me a catalogue saying they have 699.99 bedsets he can finance for me and I was still tryingto be nice i told him " I would have to talk to my husband first." he says " Okay Ill wait here while you call him." very pushy. Afteri had said numerous times I was JUST LOOKING AROUND. And thats not the best part. I continue to look around after walking away making my way towards the exit. The first gentleman tells the one whos been bugging me i was looking at tvs. And the Tall older man says out loudin a rude tone " She doesnt want to talk to us." DONT FOLLOW PEOPLE AROUND AND PUSH THEM. I am in sales. I understand wanting to meet a quota. However, this made me feel unconfortable feeling likei have to explain my financial situation to get this dude to leave me alone. Customer service has been great both times I've bought furniture from them. Downside...first time it took almost a month for a delivery that was said to take no more than 2 weeks (I lived just down the street but no means of pickin up). Paid cash for a kitchen table and was told it would be delivered on Saturday as I had requested between 4-8 PM. No call and showed at 9... I wasn't home. Called to reschedule and they stated it would be Monday or Tuesday... No firm date. Called Monday, they said Tuesday between 4-8 PM. It's now 830 and no phone call and no show. Some crappy delivery. Who knows if I'll ever get my table that I paid a nice price for. Don't buy unless you can haul. read more

If I could give then 0 stars I would. We bought our furniture back in June and it is now November. We bought all the furniture in our apartment and didn't finance so everything was paid in full and they delivered it that day, GREAT! When our kitchen table was delivered there was only 3 chairs and the leg on the table had a huge crack in it. So they said they were going to order another one and it would be in in about 2 weeks. 2 weeks later they called and said it was in and they were to deliver it between 4-8pm. 8:15 gets here and nothing so we had to leave to go to an event. They left a note on our door and times it for 8:45.... He called me the next day and left a message and this is where it all went wrong. I tried for the past 5 months to get ahold of him about our table with no response until yesterday when he was rude and hung up on me basically. They were supposed to deliver my table and extra chair today between 11-4 and didn't call my husband until 5 telling him they would be there soon! Once they got there they only had a chair and told my husband they would come replace my table leg tomorrow morning after wasting his whole day waiting for them to deliver a table!! I want what I was promised not a jimmy rigged table that will hopefully not break. Never ever shopping there again. read more
