The waiting room and examination rooms are very clean. Harley has seen Dr. Manning for almost every appointment. He is fantastic. He explains everything clearly, presents all options to you, and truly cares about his patients and their owners. We have always had fantastic interactions. Lastly, Bostic has fantastic hours. I find most vets close at 5pm, but Bostic understands that Pet Parents are busy and most employers won't let you go early for vet appointments. Bostic is open until 8pm on Monday's and Thursdays, which allows more flexibility in getting your pet in. I highly recommend Bostic for your fur babies!

I don't even know where to begin…read more I found Bostic when I wanted to do a breeding of my Chow bitch, and due to an injury to my back, Richmond was too much of a drive for me to handle. So I started doing research and making calls. BVH did everything I needed to have done. *Everything*, from blood work, to AI to delivering the pups, and even giving me a heads up about the health of one puppy being dodgy. As it turned out, we lost him, but his brother is now a happy, healthy nine-month-old. In a piece of bad luck, and bad temper causing my hippopotamus mouth to overload my hummingbird behind, I managed to get us discharged from our former vet. I have never been happier about such an event in my life. I had been considering leaving that office for a number of reasons, the biggest being lack of available appointments, parking issues, and a distinct shift in the attitudes of the staff. I just hadn't had that 'time to pull the trigger on this one' event. I do not do change well. But, having it done for me... What I found at BVH was what I had known at the previous office. Caring people, concise care for my dogs, great follow-up, great parking, just... great. I had a chat with Dr. Szabo, asking her if we could change vets, explaining to her what had gone down. Of course. I was so nervous about it, and I shouldn't have been. I screwed up, and she was willing to give me another chance not to do it again. As I said, these folks are just wonderful, and are helping me get some skin issues under control without obsessing over something or pushing products and whatnot. Whatever they recommend, they do so with an explanation as to the reason for that specific product. We've been seeing them now for a little over a year, and I couldn't be happier.

Lauren has been taking care of my pets (2 dogs/2 cats) for the past few years. There aren't many…read morepeople I trust, but I know Lauren loves my babies like they're her own. Their favorite part are overnights where they can all snuggle with her. My favorite part is knowing I can go out of town with no worries as she updates me throughout the day with texts, pictures and videos of happy babies!!!! She comes daily Monday-Friday to take our Chihuahua for a walk and play with him (we are at work about 10 hours a day). The highlight of our day is seeing all the photos and updates that Kim sends us through the app every day. And I can tell for sure that the dog likes Kim's visits too! Stable Hands is a very professional business. They have backup sitters arrange ahead of time, and everything is very well coordinated. All the scheduling, payment, photos, updates, messages, and everything is done through their app. I cannot recommend them strongly enough! We will remain their clients for as long as we live in the area.

As a loving pet owner, I hate that Covid has prevented me from attending appointments, but I certainly appreciate that they are taking precautions for their staff. My husband and I have had nothing but excellent experiences with the staff here at CAH. A couple of years ago, we were visiting daily for almost a week when our furbaby had fever of unknown origin - we thought she was a goner, but the care of the providers and staff here got her back to being her sweet, loving self! Yesterday was an annual visit for my cat, Bella. Bella had quite a rough life before I adopted her in Georgia - FIV positive and some permanent vision and auditory issues resulted. She's getting up there in age, though not quite considered a senior cat and I had some additional concerns about her mobility. The vet tech called me prior to picking Bella up from my car to review her history and discuss any concerns I had. I gave him the lowdown and he came to pick her up. For a 10 am appointment, they were running right on time - also appreciated! After Dr. Brooks did her evaluation, he called me to discuss any findings and offer recommendations for care. Even given my concerns, he didn't try to suggest expensive radiographs or blood work. He recommended a conservative course of glucosamine to see if that helps. They called back for payment over the phone and brought Bella back with promises to call the following day with fecal results - which they have. We adore the CAH staff and the care they provide. For those seeking veterinary care in Chesapeake, I wouldn't recommend anyone else!

She genuinely cares about her patients and their families, and it shows in every visit. We had only been in the area for a month and a half when one of our cats inexplicably lost most…read moremotor function in her back legs. We were able to make a same-day appointment with vets who specialize in cat care. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the vet was amazing with her. Costs were explained up-front, and options were provided based on financial situations. I was given a possible prognosis (not good), but I took the option to have some meds to see if we could mitigate the problem. The next day, her symptoms had gotten slightly worse, and she was beginning to show signs of pain. We immediately called the hospital, and were able to make an appointment almost immediately. We saw a different vet as the one we saw before was not in that office that day, but she was also amazing. We explained what we had seen, and after another simple diagnostic test, we had our answer... a terminal issue that would not resolve and would continue to cause increasing pain. We took her home to say goodbye to the family and we scheduled euthanasia. Everyone involved were nothing but kind and considerate to both Ella (the cat), and our family, explaining everything as they went and providing options where they could. They even gave us a sympathy card signed by all of the staff. While not a happy story, their kindness, compassion, knowledge, and willingness to work with us on financial options ensured that this hospital has become our new vet for our remaining pets.
