Spaw Day Mobile Grooming Salon - Tootz looks great and happy!!

Spaw Day Mobile Grooming Salon

The Daner has been fat shamed lol and fired as a client :(…read more After I scheduled a string of periodic appointments for my Girl awhile back, I got a text message from Spaw Day canceling this appointments because the groomer had injured her wrist and would be unable to work on a house-horse of Girl's stature. (Idk...*i* think she's a freakin petite specimen. Positively svelte. :) hahaha) Checked in on their site today and it seems as though they're permanently not accepting clients that weigh more than 60#. I don't think I'll ever have a pup *that* small again - we house BEASTS up in this cul de sac. Sigh. SpawDay *was* great, while it lasted.

Dog review I have a…read morevery calm and loving 16.5 pound cockapoo service animal. Everyone just loves him and he loves them back. I'm kinda bummed... Prices are VERY high at this groomer. I expected $65 maybe $85 for a hair and nails cut. I had no idea I'd be paying $124 plus a 15% tip = $143.16 for the service! They are the most Expensive dog grooming shop I've ever paid for in my entire life and I'm originally from Dana Point California (Orange County)! It's a super expensive area. I asked around to other shops here in San Antonio and they were appalled at what I was charged. I didn't expect to pay such a high price for grooming services here in Texas! First, they will screen your dog to see if they are aggressive, over weight or needs special attention. Frankie is none of those. They told me it would be a 3 week wait but I only had to wait a couple days so I am thankful for that. The groomers showed up late, about 45 minutes. She charged me extra because my dog is a little scared of water and is being groomed by a new human. She called it more care because he was nervous & wiggly. He's a dog for cryin out loud. They missed the teddy bear summer cut I asked for. My dog's hair grows as fast as weeds. They missed his tail and feet and the ears are uneven. Overall he looked choppy and rushed. When I reached out to ask if they would fix it the owner was condescending and said they were early to their next appointment so if I would have done it that day she could have come back. I ask, why then where they early to their next appointment? I think for a small dog these are outrageous prices and I felt like my little non aggressive, loving dog was a hassle for them. Two girls who came out today, the owner and a new groomer. I suppose, I paid for two people?!? I'm a bit disappointed with the gouging prices. When it came time to pay I felt forced to give her a tip. None of my dog groomers have ever complained about my dog. They were more sensitive to my dogs needs over the groomers needs. I guess it's hard to be caring so they charge you extra for that. The price she was going to charge me was not clear going into the process. If I had known it was going to be that much I would have went elsewhere. They did give me dog treats but I told her to keep them because my dog is not a dog bone treat kinda dog. I figured she could use it for another client and not waste her product on my dog. After all of this I called my dog groomer in California and she was actually upset that I was paying so much in a state that has less gas and regulatory costs than California. Gas is over $4 a gallon there but not here in Texas. I would understand that price in CA. Unfortunately, I will NEVER use their services again. Maybe she wanted me to never call her again, that's why the price was so high?! She has no idea I'm a Yelper. That's how I found her. They were friendly but that is sorta expected in the service industry. I will have to get his tail & ears done somewhere else now. Sad, I paid a fortune and did not get the cut I was expecting. I groom my dog all the time but not at $146.16 that's double the price I've ever paid anywhere else. Save your money and go somewhere else for your dog grooming needs.

This review is a long time in coming! First let me say that…read moreAbby is wonderful! She treats everyone's dogs like her own. She is a natural care giver and all the dogs are her favorite! I met Abby through a friend and was in need of a dog sitter when I lived in Ogden over 5 years ago. My husband and I were planning one of our many trips and were dreading having to put our 4 (at the time) dogs, in a regular kennel. I hate the smell and I feel the dogs never get enough attention. I want my babies to get treated like I would treat them. I figured... No such thing existed. Then I was given Abby's phone number. I called her. I felt an instant connection. She invited me and my group of dogs over to get aquatinted. My babies walked into her home as if they had been there before. I felt comfortable and so did they. The following week I dropped off the group and we were on our way. Abby gave us regular reports. (We were gone almost 2 weeks) she took great care of my family. Even Star, my finicky girl who never eats while I'm away, ate while I was gone! I brought my dogs to Abby anytime I had to go out of town. She is priced fairly and my dogs always came home in the same condition I left them. Great job Abby!

I absolutely adore Abby. Years ago I found myself couch surfing with my dog Tatum. I had no where…read moreto go. At one point I was living out of my car. I looked into several boarding places and finally left one and just cried. It was so dark and I just didn't have a good feeling leaving my baby there. I found Abby's number and explained the situation to her and she asked to meet me and Tatum. She said she would do what she could to help me. This woman completely saved us. I was able to board Tatum for about 2 months while I worked my butt off to get a new home for us. She allowed me to pick him up and spend the day with him and bring him back the same day. Abby was so good for my dog Tatum. He had severe separation anxiety and would scream if I left the house to go to the store. Being in boarding with Abby he learned that the world isn't so scary and he can be loved by many. He learned more social skills and played his heart out with other dogs. Abby always kept me updated and sent me so many photos reassuring me that he was ok. She ended up getting two Pyrenees of her own just like my Tatum. Tatum absolutely adored Abby. She is such a kind gentle soul and you could not find a better place to leave your pet than with her. We love you Abby!

I'm new to the area and my anxiety ridden pup needed some grooming. They took all my information…read moreand verified vaccinations which I thought was kind of nice. Most ask for vaccines but then never verify anything. I let them know I'd be staying in the area in case my little man was not able to be groomed. He hates water, the blow dryer and is skittish around strangers. He was abused indoors before he was rescued so he's not a fan of new places either. They told me it would take 2-3 hours even though he didn't need to get trimmed at all. I walked out thinking this is never going to work. When no call came within 5 minutes I was a little surprised. Then the phone rings 40 minutes later....I thought.... there it is, he's not going to make it through. It's only been 40 minutes and not even close to the 2-3 hour eta. To my surprise, they told me he's ready for pickup and he did great. I was truly shocked. Shelly did a phenomenal job. My only negative is that they opened the little gate to the back room before having the leash on my dog. There were other dogs in the waiting room which was not a big deal but had someone opened the front door or had been walking in, my dog would have darted out immediately and would have likely run right out into the street. That didn't happen thankfully but it crossed my mind when I had to grab him by the bandana they put around his neck. I'm grateful that was on him. I will return and will request Shelly ever time. I'm glad I found this place and appreciate all the attention they gave my pup.

It was my first time boarding my new pup, but the process with ruffledale was pretty great. We had…read moreto drop him off for a free two hour behavior assessment before he could be boarded. They were also very strict with all vaccinations. I forgot to send my husband with some of the copies and we had to quickly get them emailed over before they would let him enter - which is great! My dog passed his assessment and stayed here for seven days over Thanksgiving. The price was fair and when we picked him they gave us a little treat bag and report card. My dog seemed to love it and he was always chilling in the middle of the pack when they would post anything on Instagram. Downfalls: despite strict vaccination requirements my dog still got kennel cough. He recovered quickly and it wasn't anything severe, but still a bummer. He also had one or two scratches on him. I'd imagine he was playing rough and it wasnt anything serious since his report card was all positive, but it's still something I'll watch out for if he goes back.
