She had a complete analysis worked up for me, it outlined the recent comparable sales as well as the units on the market that would be my competition. It also had an explanation of all the fees and estimated closing costs so I had a full understanding of what a sales price would mean against what I originally paid for the unit. She explained everything in detail but in the end insisted that all pricing decisions were mine to make, after all it was my unit and my money. Throughout the entire process, Francesca was amazing. She was diligent about seeking feedback from prospective buyers, and always made time to talk to me about the market conditions. My experience with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services (BHHS) Chicago has been simply awful!! I used…read moretheir services for listing my condo for rent. However, despite assurances, no updates were provided to me regarding enquiries, no consultation with me for most enquiries - thus, providing mis-leading information to prospective clients - as I learnt retrospectively. I even reached out to Customer Service after half a year, but sensed retaliation since then - 0 enquiries for almost a month - was this a coincidence!?!... plus a bunch of falsehood - agent stated having taken pictures to revamp the listing, but my building manager confirmed that the agent had no history of signing in the building since December 2019 - 7 months ago! Then one day the agent called and simply informed me that their next step was to take off the listing - with the contract deemed canceled. I was shocked and reached out to Customer Service for my options. I was connected to another agent whose terms of listing my unit were drastic and not acceptable to me. Since there had been issues working with BHHS and I had allowed several weeks to try and resolve them - but without success, I ultimately requested to be released of the contract. To my shock, I was sent an invoice close to $500 for early cancelation and marketing expenses! My options were to either pay the invoice or work with yet another agent. How is it justified to charge me of any money when there was non-performance, and the contract cancelation was initially thrusted upon me from their agent? How justified is it to keep re-assigning agents and using up my time with my condo sitting vacant for over half a year? Thereafter I learnt that BHHS Chicago is an independently owned and operating franchisee of BHHS, and the latter could not help resolve any dispute. So beware when employing services - even though you may see Berkshire Hathaway in the name - the local agency could be just its independent franchisee with no matching quality of service or trust!
