She had such a nurturing hand while still being extremely efficient. Liz made one of the most arduous times in our life bearable. She was intuitive and anticipated what was needed. Liz created a safe space for us to grieve our queen in peace. She maximized the time we were given so that we would not feel rushed. This detail was paramount to our experience with the funeral home. Liz seamlessly continued continuity of care at the church and cemetery. She was never intrusive and even she even had brief moments of levity, that were needed at times, to diffuse potentially difficult situations from occurring. Liz had the amazing Marvin assisting her throughout this process. He was very pleasant, diligent, and took direction extremely well. I was impressed by Funeraria Del Ángel South Gate because of Liz. Omar is rarely available always running errands and Juan is always taking messages and trying to answer questions for the case manager (Omar) whom never gets back. I had to be the one to call and ask for updates and follow up because they would never call Back. My phone record is nothing but calls out to them supporting that they have terrible customer care and service. They close at 5pm. They'll answer the phone to tell you to call the next day.. They also kept telling us that our sons remains would be ready this week, no next week no the 3rd week. For some reason Omar couldn't email or call me with updates. I wouldn't recommend using their services unless you're ready to do all the follow ups, ask for updates, ask and remind them to process your payment and try to get a hold of them. We were assured that her father's ashes would be available in Bell Garden on Thursday she drove close to 3 hours to pick them up. When my wife made the painful drive to pick them up, they were not there. We ended up having to collect the ashes only two hours before the funeral. To make matters worse, the urn we purchased--a golden urn to properly honor her father--was not provided. Instead, without a word of explanation, they handed us his ashes in a plastic box. This left my wife with no choice but to present her father in front of family and friends in a cheap plastic container. People were taking photos of the urn, and it was a humiliating, heartbreaking moment. On top of the grief of losing her only surviving parent, she had to experience this indignity. We even drove around desperately searching for an urn before the service, but it was impossible to find one on the same day. No family should ever be put through this kind of negligence--especially not on the day of a funeral. We placed our trust in this company to handle something sacred, and they failed us in the worst way imaginable. This experience was beyond disappointing--it was cruel.

(This request is common until specific family members come see loved one) usually mortuaries say okay take hospice info /time of death and request family call 2-4 hours prior to requested pick up time. Rep was rude seemed shocked verbalized concern for body decaying, told me no that couldn't be done. 2. As I continued to advocate for my patients families desires I was told " you don't decide you're not the one we have to talk to we will call daughters" (daughters heard everything on speaker ** I was told 2 am the desired time was "to late" !! Aren't mortuaries open 24 hours ?!? This was the most shocking thing I've ever heard " to late we can't pick her up after 12 it's to late" 3. Rep hung up on me when asked name. 4. They called family and said the prearrangements made by the decedent more than 10 yrs ago were for straight burial although they had receipts for full chapel services 5. The rep then told family they could pick up Client at desired time but because it was "late" there would be a 300 dollar fee. 6 . 4 days after patients death I was being called to my company phone and left messages requesting call back I called and the person who answered said they were trying to call regarding the death certificate ! I gave the office / doctor info on day of death and they are calling the nurse who pronounced 4 days later! 7. The rep said " oh is this the person who died and only wanted pick up and holding that we declined ? she didn't get picked up" omg I almost lost it wth. I told her the company info and then called this family ensuring she had been picked up. They verified she was taken to this mortuary. 8. The family called me and said they were calling me because they said a family member provided my info instead of the hospice information. They blamed the family! So wrong because they aren't supposed to take the info from family it's supposed to be from the nurse who pronounced death: which I gave to the first rude person who answered. * this place is horribly disorganized and people don't communicate they don't even know their clients which is horrifying. Don't use this place I will tell every and all patients I have in the future. You don't need this during an already difficult time. I literally hurt for my patients family having to have endured this treatment while dealing with this place.
