My phone record is nothing but calls out to them supporting that they have terrible customer care and service. They close at 5pm. They'll answer the phone to tell you to call the next day.. They also kept telling us that our sons remains would be ready this week, no next week no the 3rd week. For some reason Omar couldn't email or call me with updates. I wouldn't recommend using their services unless you're ready to do all the follow ups, ask for updates, ask and remind them to process your payment and try to get a hold of them. Aren't mortuaries open 24 hours ?!? This was the most shocking thing I've ever heard " to late we can't pick her up after 12 it's to late" 3. Rep hung up on me when asked name. 4. They called family and said the prearrangements made by the decedent more than 10 yrs ago were for straight burial although they had receipts for full chapel services 5. The rep then told family they could pick up Client at desired time but because it was "late" there would be a 300 dollar fee. 6 . 4 days after patients death I was being called to my company phone and left messages requesting call back I called and the person who answered said they were trying to call regarding the death certificate ! I gave the office / doctor info on day of death and they are calling the nurse who pronounced 4 days later! 7. The rep said " oh is this the person who died and only wanted pick up and holding that we declined ? she didn't get picked up" omg I almost lost it wth. I told her the company info and then called this family ensuring she had been picked up. They verified she was taken to this mortuary. 8. The family called me and said they were calling me because they said a family member provided my info instead of the hospice information. They blamed the family! So wrong because they aren't supposed to take the info from family it's supposed to be from the nurse who pronounced death: which I gave to the first rude person who answered. * this place is horribly disorganized and people don't communicate they don't even know their clients which is horrifying. I left a message at 2 others then on my third try I contacted "A Serenity Funeral & Cremation Services" and Daniel answered the phone. Despite having a busy morning right from the get-go he was kind, compassionate and forthright. He let me know he was having a busy morning and would do his very best to get there within the hour. He arrived within 30 minutes along with another gentleman. The compassion, tenderness and grace that they showed our loved one and to us, who we're newly grieving was an answered prayer. They reverently allowed us our final goodbyes and had no problem when I wanted to include a special blanket to wrap our loved one in. Daniel sat with us, answered questions and patiently walked us through the process. The kindness and care that Serenity Funeral and cremation services showed us should be a model for the industry. When we finished all the paperwork we realized that "A Serenity" was actually a fraction of the price of what we were going to pay with the locally touted company that continually told me it would be "within the hour." Both of these were major reasons I chose them over other options. Neither happened as promised. On the day she was picked up, I received no final confirmation. I had to call multiple times, text, and leave voicemails just to get confirmation the next day that she'd been picked up -- and that they had not retrieved her belongings as agreed. I ended up having to make a 4-hour round trip myself to collect them. Weeks later, I got a call saying they actually couldn't cross county lines to deliver her to me after all. My options were to drive back myself or have her shipped. I chose shipping, and she was left sitting outside in the sun, I didn't even have to sign for delivery. Throughout this, I spoke with several different staff members, and no one seemed to have a clear picture of what had gone wrong or what had already been communicated. I received little acknowledgment of how badly this was handled, and no offer of any refund or compensation. I was told "not sure why we didn't get her things". When I explained they also knew I lived in a different county from the start and I was never told about crossing county lines, I was brushed off. This is one of the most sensitive services a family will ever need, and it deserves careful, consistent communication. I did not get that here, and I would not recommend this company.
