A cosy and quaint b&b close to the Digby ferry! We had a wonderful time, and the vegan breakfast…read morewas outstanding! We can't wait to stay again!

Stayed mid-September. Our room was upstairs. It was fun & funky, angular roofline makes for tight…read morefitting ceiling and overall space, shower and toilet right in the room. The bed was a challenge, low because of the low sloping ceiling, difficult for someone next to the wall to get out of in the night when there are two people in it, and it was clear that there was just one place people sat as the mattress (or whatever it was) was permanently squished at the edge in just one place. Loved the cats but didn't really see them as they weren't allowed in many spaces we were. The breakfast room was the living room and it felt weird to go in to the room, shut the door to keep the cats out, and sit at the 2 top awaiting breakfast service. Hosts are vegan which isn't a big deal for us as we typically eat vegetarian, but what I disliked the most was being served a plate of food without any say on what went on it and how much. I don't really care to eat foods that are trying to be something they're not, so I'm not impressed with food science created sausages and eggs that are made with a long list of funky ingredients. I'd rather have a real whole-foods meal with items that are known, think breads/tortillas, beans, whole grains and cereals, fresh fruit and vegetables. I can think of a lot of dishes using these foods that would be vegan and way healthier and delicious than the fake stuff. Overall, it's a fun place to stay but I'm not sure I'd stay again. I like real food and the ability to enjoy the pets if around.

Wow! This place is amazing. Cheryl and Dwight are the best hosts. We stopped here on a road trip…read moreup to Prince Edward Island and they were so hospitable and helpful. The room we stayed in was out back in the carriage house...very warm and cozy and clean. Just what we needed. They even allowed us to use their washer/dryer to do laundry. They gave us tips on what to see in St John and where to eat--check out Britt's Pub! The breakfast was one of the best on our trip...homemade cinnamon rolls, an egg casserole, fresh fruit, and good coffee. Loved getting to know Cheryl and Dwight and the other guests. The room was very reasonably priced and the location is a short walk from the heart of St. John. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would definitely go back.

We stayed here while in St John as we always prefer a B&B to a motel or hotel. Nice older building…read morein the centre of Old Town within walking distance to the City Market and lots of restaurants. The owners are friendly and welcoming and seem to genuinely like people. A huge plus in this business. The room we had was full of old items to match the style of the building. Our only issue was that the beds were very high and hard to get in or out of. Our room had a single and a double and the single had two box springs as well as a full sized mattress on the old wood frame. I realize they did this so the two beds would look the same height but it was a challenge to get in to. A very tiny bathroom was in the room which was nice but the shower was very small so if you need space to move around in there you may want to stay in a different room which may have a larger shower stall. The included breakfast was French Toast & Fruit with Bacon on the side. Huge portions and very tasty. We went out to get latte's as soon as we got up as The Earl of Leinster only offers drip coffee and we are addicted to coffee with more teeth then drip can achieve. I would recommend this cute little B&B if you are looking for accommodation in downtown St John.

Stayed here last night. It was clean and quiet - pretty much you're typical Hotel chain experience…read more The location is great, but they're undergoing construction right now which made things a little dreary. The back entrance and lack of signs kept us searching around for a little while. The concierge was nice but definitely the least friendly of the 7 hotels we stayed at in the past week. The cleaning staff showed much better hospitality. Highlights: 1. Kurig coffee machines in the rooms! 2. Deep end pool (9ft) and giant jacuzzi 3. Clean gym with great equipment/tv 3. Hot breakfast (Get the breakfast patties! Sooo delicious. Stay away from the pancake machine though. It takes wayyyy too long and makes flat/burnt pancakes) 4. Free wifi

So let me start off by saying that I hate hotels. They usually end up being just inauthentic,…read moreempty space where you crash because by law you can't just sleep outside. Anyway, this hotel had to be one of the nicest that I've ever stayed in. (It really does deserve at 5 star rating but my anti-hotel feelings prevent me from doing so.) The front desk people were extremely nice and so were the other guests. I met some pretty cool bikers that liked my suitcase. They were nice guys. The room was a standard double bed room and it was very clean and quiet. The beds were huge and comfortable. The shower was very nice with a traction floor and what I think was a sauna feature. The room had a Keurig machine, complimentary wi-fi, table with two chairs, desk and T.V. with many appropriately placed lights. I didn't go into the pool but the people there looked like they were having a good time. Finally, the morning complimentary breakfast was actually really delicious. I made a sausage and omelet bagel sandwich and had orange juice, a banana, milk, and yogurt. In addition, they had english and french newspapers lying around. J'ai été très heureux. Finally, the parking lot has a lot of space and the check-in/check-out took less than two minutes. A little out of my price range for a regular stay but when I'm older I would go back.
