Very disappointed in Function! I was a client at the Edmond location, left to have surgery and need PT post-surgery. Apparently they are so busy they've had to cut Medicare patients. This is a real travesty and unacceptable in my book, therefore I'm unable to recommend them!! read more

Went to PT after a knee scope. From the assessment to my final appointment, Seaton always explained my exercises in terms of what I will be doing; function. I really enjoyed that after an exercise he would tell me, "this is what you would be doing walking down a stair, reaching to grab something off the ground, turning to see over your shoulder, etc." Seaton was always asking how does that feel? What are you feeling? Then he would hear my exercises towards that. I remember one appointment specifically where I described that it was easy to lunge, but it didn't feel like my glutes were engaging. He immediately gave me a new positioned exercise to cause my gluteus to trigger. I saw Seaton for 6 weeks, 2-3 times/week. He then allowed me to schedule a 2 follow-ups a month down the road just to see progress. During that time Seaton gave me exercises to do at home to strengthen my leg muscles. Everything was smooth and friendly from the first time I walked in the door. Shelby at the front desk is very helpful and polite when I needed to reschedule an appointment. I would highly suggest this place. *Seaton also does dry needling and cupping therapy. (I did not receive either of these treatments, although friends of mine have from him.) read more

Seaton is awesome--definitely the man to see for any chronic sport injury. I had several visits at function physical therapy to address an ongoing IT band injury that prevented me running or any impact sport. Seaton LISTENS, unlike many practitioners who have a preconceived idea of what needs to happen, and really cares what you have to say. He then gives a thorough evaluation of what is causing limitation/injury rather than putting a bandaid on the symptoms. Seaton gave me many exercises and methods to release fascia I can do on my own without do tons of office visits. Could not recommend more! He is a gem in OKC. read more

The best way to thank a veteran for their service is to improve their quality of life . After combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq I sustained irreparable nerve damage and a significantly diminished mobility. I thought I would just have to live with those limitations and pain until I found Function. Seaton's dynamic assessment and evaluation approach allows him to develop a treatment plan based on your movements. I've tried other PT's in the area with little improvements. I've had several visits at function physical therapy. Although my course of physical therapy isn't over I'm extremely pleased with the care that I have received so far from Katie at each visit. I have explained to her my condition and what my goals are and it seems that we are both striving to reach that goal. She takes time to listen to me each visit and checks on how I'm feeling and where the pain is so that she can best help me at that visit. I have to say at this point in time I'm extremely pleased and would recommend her, or any members of the staff, to anyone who needs physical therapy. And by that I mean if you are in pain or if you're training or if you or seeking better care I urge you to look on their website and consider the options that function physical therapy offers. From cupping to dry needling to massage and much more. I've found so much relief in the methods that have been used so far. I also appreciate how they work with you using your muscles targeting the area of injury or the area of focus engaging them to recover through those exercises without pushing you past your limits. They always do a check to make sure that you're doing the necessary exercise without incurring any pain during or after. If there is they immediately adjust. And I appreciate this because I've been injured before from therapist who don't do that. They also have interesting techniques about opposite movement. Which if a certain movement in a certain direction is causing discomfort or pain then working the muscle they have you move in the opposite direction to relieve the pain. Their approach is not the typical approach and that is why I appreciate it and decided to come here myself. My Orthopedic referred me to physical therapy. Function Physical Therapy was my choice based on reviews on Google. I feel very lucky to have such great support of Highly Educated and compassionate people. I have been working with Scott and he has been doing phenomenal job. My rotator cuff is torn but thanks to Scott I am improving each time I have my physical therapy session. I can honestly say that this is the place you want to be at to fix whatever was injured. Great atmosphere starting from front desk, Jessica is great and open and very smiley person, she will work with you on scheduling the most convenient time for you. I was fortunate to work with Seaton earlier this year. I had just finished an eight month season of umpiring in the Minor Leagues, working over 200 games in this span. My right knee had almost constant pain. Seaton was able to get to the root causes of my knee pain and crafted a plan to get me on the field for the next season pain-free. Through a mixture of stretching, strengthening, and therapy, we were able to accomplish this goal. When I finished my sessions with Seaton, he left me with exercises that I could do on my own to prevent further injuries. I felt so good, that I trained for and ran the OKC Memorial half-marathon, during the baseball season! There is no doubt in my mind that he is one of the best physical therapists around.
