I've sat through countless meetings where I was told my child was too wiggly, too silly, or not meeting expectations. I've experienced the heartbreak of camps, sports, and social situations that didn't always work out as planned. My son, Ben, has always been a foot taller than his peers, and as many parents of taller children know, people often expect maturity that doesn't necessarily match their age or developmental stage. One of Ben's biggest struggles has been tunnel vision, Executive functioning skills, and maturity. Today marks a huge milestone: Ben has officially graduated from Occupational Therapy. This accomplishment didn't happen overnight. It took years of hard work, patience, consistency, and guidance. Mrs. Alex and Mrs. Hannah have been instrumental in helping Ben develop the skills, confidence, and self-awareness he needed to grow into the amazing young man he is becoming. They met him where he was, celebrated his strengths, and gave him the tools to succeed in a way that worked for him. I would also like to thank April in the back office. From scheduling appointments to helping our family navigate the logistics over the years, she was always kind, welcoming, and supportive. The little things matter, and her warmth and care helped make every visit a positive experience. Watching Ben grow and mature has been one of the greatest joys of my life, and I truly couldn't have done it without this incredible team. My sister has been residing at the Herman Health Care Center for well over a year now and she's…read morehappier than she's ever been. She likes the staff and the other residents and the activities there. Recently my sister had a mental health relapse and things got very bad for her. She usually has a mental health relapse about once a year, and this was the first time she recovered so quickly and didn't have to be sent out to Emergency Protective Services (EPS), Barbara Arons Pavilion, or other places. Usually, her mental health relapses last for 6 months or longer but this time she recovered after only about a month. Everything was handled at the Herman Health Care Center and now she's getting back to her usual, happy self. She's sleeping well, we have regular phone conversations, and she's participating in activities like she used to. One of the key reasons she recovered so quickly and so completely is that the Herman Health Care Center staff took things very seriously and took immediate action to make medication adjustments and such. Once all of this happened and the adjustments were promptly made, my sister began to recover. So, I greatly appreciate it when outstanding people such as the staff at Herman Health Care Center take an active role in making sure those in their care are made a priority and given the quality care they need. So the Herman Health Care Center staff really does a great job overall.

What this school has done for us is something I will forever be grateful for. Before coming to Pine Hill, my son experienced a tremendous amount of loss of education because his needs were not being properly supported in his previous educational environments. As a parent, it was heartbreaking to watch my child lose valuable opportunities to learn simply because he did not have the right support in place. Today, because of Pine Hill, my son is able to sit in a classroom, complete his schoolwork, participate in learning, and experience educational success in ways we once struggled to imagine. The elementary school pressured us to enroll him, but it seemed they ultimately wanted to push him out rather than provide the help he needed. My child was hit by other students, staff handled him roughly, and he was yelled at. Once you remove your child from public school, getting them enrolled again can be extremely difficult. We also felt that some staff members were disrespectful and dishonest. Based on our experience, I strongly recommend exploring other options before enrolling your child here. Don't do it you will regret it !
