Of course I was going to write this anyways, mostly to brag about what a fun time I had! My friend invited me to Eco-System, a co-working space where they did a demonstration and video recording of this fantastic corporate trivia tool. The emcees were energetic, and at first I was like, "Oh god, I hate cheesy games," but I totally got into it. There were three rounds of various questions. They were creative and well-written... more critical thinking than needing to know random facts. I'm not that great at trivia but was still able to answer a good number of questions. And best of all, there's "Smartass Responses!" Basically if you KNOW you don't know the answer to something, you can type a smartass answer, and if it gets a laugh from the audience, you get a silly prize. Just the engagement of all different knowledge levels is impressive. There wasn't a dull moment, and even though we were only allowed to use one person's Smartphone, all the mechanics worked out well. I hope to find a purpose for hiring The Big Quiz Thing. Fortunately and unfortunately I work remotely, so I can't exactly organize a corporate team-building event. I just want to have this experience all over again. So glad my friend invited me, and I would highly recommend them!

Unlike traditional escape rooms where everyone works on one thing, we loved the competitive aspect--it got everyone engaged, energized, and working together. I didn't know how they would bring the escape room to us but it was perfect. We were going to do an offsite with a location based one but timing and location wasn't working for us so I thought I'd try breakout IQ. I'm so glad I did! It is a true test of team building and communication. The facilitation at the start was great. It really spoke to what I wanted my staff and me to get out of it. And the debrief was on par as well. It fit in nicely with the theme of our day long retreat. Besides fun it was educational on an individual and group level. Dad booked an experience for the family and we were pleasantly surprised with our entire experience! We were transported to what felt like a hot game show set. There were over 18 games to choose from and all of the ones we got were all perfect for all ages of our family. It felt like a mix of price is right, big brother competitions, and the most insane game shows, I grew up watching! By the end of our game show the whole family was engaged and smiling ear to ear! What a wholesome time. A totally different way to experience "family game night" Definitely worth a go with your family or friends... this is not just a once in a lifetime experience, we're already thinking about when we're going back and who we'd bring with us! But my main thing is I think they need to do a much better job if you do a kids vs parents game, or warn against it (they said it would be fine). I ended up fighting the other parents to throw the match! I would recommend doing two teams of the same level, because overall the experience was cool, but the kids vs parents things was good for the kids, not as much for the adults. And it was kinda pricy for the whole party.
