I live close by and was able to schedule an appointment within the hour. Cynthia was knowledgeable in how to treat my hair going forward. I needed to trim a lot of growth and a lot of damage. She cut my hair to my preference and also told me how to proceed in future appointments. I also had my 3 year old daughter with me, to lessen her anxiety with a haircut in the future. This was my son's first time at this salon. He has a history of being fussy, of course what 2 year old has a perfect history during a hair cut. I was able to call and easily make an appointment. My husband took my son in and was serviced by Cynthia. She was easily accommodating and welcoming. Most salons are not very keen or excited to taking toddlers. My son was welcomed with a basket of toys and a fun seating area for his hair cut. He came home looking sharp and handsome and we also received a card to earn a discount after 5 hair cuts. She's the only one who can give me a great layered haircut. It's not choppy, it's very subtle. The place is not fancy almost like a hole in the wall. But I will keep coming back. Some people have said she's mean, but If you talk to her, she's very nice. read more

I almost missed this place! My usually salon was closed early and I really needed a haircut. As I was driving by, I saw the sign and thought this was just a salon for kids. Well, since I REALLY needed a haircut, and it was already 6:30pm, I took a chance and went in to see they cut adults' hair. Cynthia assured me that they are a full service salon and help for all ages. In 15 minutes I had the best cut I'd had in a while and the service was great. Cynthia is very friendly and really knows her craft. Since then, both of my kids love her haircuts too because she makes them feel so comfortable. I love that they stay open until 7pm weekdays and are open until 5pm both Saturday AND Sunday. So convenient. I gave it a try. I had my hair cut 4-5 times before I quit this establishment. I spoke to the owner about what I want and didn't want. Then she would tell me why she didn't agree. I would accept what I was told and was less then pleased with the results. I know what I want but was willing to accept direction. Maybe she has insight that I lack. She is the skilled hairdresser after all. The last straw was when I returned 2 weeks after a cut to correct two concerns. My bangs were grossly uneven. And the area behind my ears was sticking out at an odd angle because it was too long. The owner declined to even look at my complaint until I agreed to pay for a new cut. She explained that I only had a week long grace period to return for a complaint. She was more invested in getting paid then fixing her mistake. It was clear that she didn't care about the quality of her work or my continued patronage. I left as I want someone who is invested in working with me to develop a working relationship ship. For want of 18$ this lady lost a customer who comes in every 6-8 weeks for a cut. read more

So my husband and I took our son for his first haircut. It was already 6ish and every hair place for children that I Yelped closed either at 6 or before 5pm. So whew we found one! As we stepped into the store, it wasn't what I was expecting to be... lots of cool children chairs that keeps the child from crying and is distracted. There was only one car chair and it didn't even have a seatbelt with it. So literally you have to be tripple extra careful because if your kid is the active one, then good luck on keeping him/her still. Originally we didn't want my son's bangs too short but whenever you go to a asian salon, they will keep cutting it as short as a tupay... the styler kept cutting it how she wanted it and felt like she didn't really listen much to our wants. Our stylist was patient and friendly but if your gonna cut your child's hair for the first time, then I recommend on researching which hair style you want so you exactly know what you want! read more

On Sunday afternoon (Aug 2, 2020) I had my hair trimmed, and my roots done. I am SO happy with the results! Cynthia is a very nice lady, and she did an excellent job on my hair. She did my hair outside in the fresh air, underneath a little tent she had put up. I was the only one there that she was working with, and she took all the necessary precautions concerning Covid. I came to this place after having a negative experience at Fantastic Sam's in Los Alamitos. The lady here wasn't too busy and treated my daughter with respect and was careful not to pull her hair. My daughter is very sensitive. I gave her instructions on cutting my daughter's hair and she did state her opinion/objection, but she did what I said. I liked to feedback, but am glad she didn't override my decision making. She also did a great braid with tiny flowers for my daughter. Overall, we had a great experience. I have tried other salons/barbers but no one cuts hair as well as she does. When I went to other barbers, their cuts were not as clean and precise looking as her haircuts. My toddler daughter has only had her hair cut twice and we came here both times. (Walk-ins, both times.) The owner/stylist cut my daughter's hair and put it in a braid with flowers; made her look great. The stylist was QUICK and resourceful, which I valued a great deal because my daughter cried and protested both times. iPad and toys be damned, she was having none of it. We had to transfer her from the kid-themed chair (I think it was shaped like a car) to my lap. The stylist worked around me and powered through my kid's meltdown. I appreciate that the owner got us in, out and on our way. If you know what you want, great. If you don't, the owner offers ideas. She knows how hair behaves, particularly Asian hair. Prices are on par with other salons that cater to kids. (I called two others in the area before coming here.) If you want to support local small businesses, come here. She's working hard, trying to provide for her family, just like the rest of us. Her shop isn't the newest or the swankiest in the neighborhood, but I didn't need that. She delivered where it mattered: My kid came out looking great; I didn't pay an arm and a leg; crying didn't phase her or her staff; I didn't spend all afternoon there. read more

I give this place 2 stars because I brought my 1 1/2 year old son here because I though it was a salon specially for children given the name "Fun Cuts 4 Kids" I walked in and they only had ONE chair specialized for a child. The wait wasn't bad because I was the only person there. The one gal that was working was nice and patient with my boy. She had no TVs or tablets for the kids to distract them, however she did pull out from under a counter some intensely used McDonald's happy meal toys FULL of disgusting hair clipped off of other people's heads!! I would have gone somewhere else but I was super pressed for time. My advice is if you're looking for a spot to get your hair cut you could possibly give this spot a consideration but for your child NO. This place is very deceiving with its name. read more

NEVER TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE!!! What a horrible experience. As soon as we walked in, the lady gave us a quick glance, then without any more eye contact while she was busy doing other things, asked what we wanted. We said we wanted a trim for my nephew who had long-ish surfer hair. She showed us where to sit him, then asked if he was a boy or a girl!! She then proceeded to spray him (in the eyes more than the hair) with her water bottle, and explain to us how his hair was too long and she was going to cut it off. After letting her have a piece of our minds, we decided we would get a haircut somewhere else, and never look back!! Please spread the word. What a horrible place. The first two cuts we got were ok. A lot of mistakes were made and she hairsprayed my son who was only 2 even after I asked her not to. I also told her to not use the blowdryer because it freaks him out and she still did it. The last time and final time we went she gave him a horrible haircut. I asked her to cut it shorter on the top and she disagreed with me saying that it needed to be long. But the sides were shorter and she insisted on leaving it long. That lady was in a hurry (hello, we were the only one there!), did not do the cut that we wanted for our 15 mth old son. My husband had to tell her twice that the cut wasn't even, and at first she was disagreeing that it was even and all she had to say was "it looks good, he's so cute!" I've taken my son here many times over the last few years. Always got good cuts when the owner did it. I had a bad experience a few times with her employees before she moved from the location on Katella near Target, but after that I had only the owner cut my son's hair. As I said, she always did a good job, even though my son was so squirmy! Today however I showed up at 3:47 and even though the sign said "open" there was a tiny piece of paper taped to the door that said "be back at 3:45." Clearly not correct since it was 3:47 and she wasn't there... I gave her the benefit of the doubt and waited 10 more minutes, and she still wasn't back. So l, took my business elsewhere and probably won't return. As I read other Yelps... I see this isn't the first time! This is poor customer service!! Don't take your child here. We took our 5 year old son here and the lady cutting his hair was rude and was not child centered at all. She combed his hair out and he kept screaming OUCH. She didn't care she just rudely combed his hair out trying to get out tangles. Every mother knows that you are supposed to hold down the roots when you comb out tangles so it doesn't hurt the child. She totally butchered his hair. One side had some shaved hair from his ear and the other side looked opposite with hair by his ear. Also I had to re cut his hair on the back because it was too long. I wrote an e-mail to the owner through their website and never got a response. Don't take your child here. read more

We had poor customer service and the stylist did not cut our 7 mos grandsons hair the way we asked, nipped his ear, did not clean off his hair and argue with us in the process. I usually go with go this girl named marissa shes really nice with kids and did a great job.. but the last time i brought my daughter this blonde girl cut her hair and she totally messed up her bangs.. i mean she has layers in her bangs and the top layer is shorter and her bangs are long.. i don't even know why i paid her.. she really sucked.. if you do come to this place ask for marrisa shes the only one that knows and is good with kids. .the asian lady who i believe is the owner she sucks too.. shes rude and doesnt know how to cut hair.. and if marisa is not there then i recommend for you to go somerwhere else... read more

This place is great! My girls love coming here. My littlest has a sensitive head and the woman who runs the place, always makes sure she does my daughters hair, because she knows how bad it can get.
