So here I am driving down State St, one plate in the rear view window and one on the dashboard. I pulled into Pro Automotive and what a relief. Rick not only found screws for the plates he put them on and even put the registration sticker on for me. The big plus was he would not charge me. I highly recommend this place I know that when I need any work done on my car I will bring it here. Thank You so much Rick Doris Dolan

Since I was a recent college graduate, I did my best to take care of my car at a reasonable price. He always gave me a nice value, with great service and I never had any issues. He did check my exhaust pipe once before for it broke, he said it should be OK. However, even after the initial inspection the pipe still fail. Frank repaired the exhaust pipe without any haggle. I'm sure he was just looking to save me a little money, if he thought it could hold together. Frank also gave my car a clean pass to drive from New York to Texas. Beside a few preexisting oil problems, the car held up fine. He is a great guy and an honest mechanic, if I still lived in Upstate New York I would still go there.

('cos, you know, "we had to remove the front end off the carrrr!") michaels crew did the job quickly, and even noticed a detail relating to another light, which i was unaware of. they repaired it. with no whining. and they charged a very reasonable price. i am both impressed and thrilled. thank you, MICHAEL'S AUTOMOTIVE. you will see us again.

No one called ahead to give me a heads-up or reschedule -- I just arrived to locked doors. I called from the parking lot and left a message letting them know I was there for my appointment. That was over three weeks ago now, and I still haven't gotten a callback -- no apology, no explanation, nothing. I get that shops sometimes have to close unexpectedly, but a simple phone call would have saved me a wasted trip, and a follow-up afterward would have gone a long way. Instead, total silence. Can't recommend based on this experience -- communication was nonexistent.

I'm thrilled to write a 5-star review. Why? First of all, the tire store in Saratoga that has…read moreserviced 2 cars for many years complains regularly that they're too busy and can't fit me in. So I called Rowland St. and they said if I want to wait during the service, I could have an appointment in about 2 days. A few more minutes on the phone and it was set up. Also, their new building has a pleasant waiting area and pleasant, low-key staff. Have you had a jiffy oil change where they try to add on unnecessary services that you don't need? That didn't happen here. I explained what I was after, I pointed out something else I found, and I got good advice on how to resolve it. There was no upselling. Finally, I figured the service I needed would be outrageously expensive, so I researched to get a feel for what I was in for. IMHO, the final bill reflected a reasonable price for parts which I expected to be marked up obscenely. The labor, too, seemed fair for the task. In all it was a lot of money but it seemed appropriate after my worrying beforehand. I didn't expect to be saying this, but I'll probably be back for my next auto service.
