This is one of my favorite bookstores in the Philippines. I love the aesthetic inside and how it was laid out especially when they have photo of a woman create with books. Bookstore -- more than books! (MANILA Philippines) My two daughters would absolutely love this bookstore if we had one in the U.S. My 10-year old niece who resides in the Philippines introduced me to this store when I told her that I was looking for Sonny Angel merchandise for my adult daughter at home who loves this stuff. Not only did they have them but they had so many different kinds of Pop Mart blind box merchandise meaning you do not know which figure you will receive until you buy one and open the box. The bookstore also carries a good selection of Manga books series which my other daughter would be excited to see. For Yuko Shimizu fans... they sell the mural shirts here too. After all the searching for the Sonny Angel merch I was glad to find them in this bookstore and surprised my child with the plush. Customer service was excellent, they were very friendly and helpful. For Filipino book lovers, comic enthusiasts and music lovers this is a go to place to shop. With 4 floors high and in-house Starbucks coffee and boba tea outlet on 3rd floor it's like a collectors edition making other book stores look like paperbacks. Nested at the corner of BGC's prime shopping area, the only thing one may miss is parking space (which is right at the back of the store, but limited). They carry all current releases as one may find in any bookstore across the globe. The staff is very friendly and there are chairs where one can sit and browse a sample copy of the book. The store also has a stationary, art and craft section (basement). With Barnes and Nobles having tough times ahead and Borders folded in the US, it's encouraging to see book stores still doing well and growing in the east. read more

One of my favorite bookstores! Too bad I don't live in the Philippines. They have a wide selection of books for all ages and there's even stationery and art items on the bottom level. There's escalators that take you to each level and chairs for you to sit while reading. There's also a starbucks and frozen yogurt place inside! What surprised me was that the books are unwrapped and kept organized and neat! (I've never seen books covered unwrapped when I visit bookstores, so they've always been flipped through and the cover stays open and not flat.. if you know what I'm saying lol) also loved the interior decor and murals! This place is also less crowded than the National bookstore that I've been to. This would probably be one of my favorite places to visit while in the Manila area! Love the ambience of this place. Anytime I'm stressed I go here either to get a Starbucks or to browse around the abundant selection of books! I probably go here 3x a week. They have cool art supplies on the bottom floor and almost any magazine you can think of on the ground floor. There's a neat comic book store on the top floor if you're a collector I hear they have some rare stuff even the president of the Philippines visits from time to time. It's really awesome how a bookstore can be so much more than just great books. Aside from a wide array and collection of books, they also have everything related to paper that you will ever need. From planners, to pens, to stationary materials, to party decorations, maybe even keychains, and some things you thing you didn't even know you needed; Like ice cube trays that can make your ice cubes look like vampire teeth. There's really something for everyone here. They also have Figurines here: of Lord of the Rings to Marvel and DC characters. Aside from all these, there's also a Starbuck's cafe on the second floor where you can read your books in peace. Best bookstore so far. read more

When I'm in BGC, I never miss to drop by my most favorite bookstore in the area: Fully Booked High Street. My friends and I would make the Starbucks upstairs a rendezvous point all the time, and while waiting for my gang to show up during lunches or dinners, I would browse around this gargantuan bookstore and look for my next favorite volume. They have tons and tons of books from different genres, and they are one of the most complete and comprehensively stocked bookstores in the metro. You can find anything here: books, magazines, comics, texthbooks, guidebooks, maps, novels, board games, novelty items, collectibles, and toys. I can stay in here for hours, and I don't even have to buy a single thing when I don't feel like splurging on books. There are some books that are open for personal reading while in the store, but most of the titles are wrapped in plastic. I love the art installation made out of books that towers several floors, and it is always the most photogenic area of the bookstore. I also love the furniture shop upstairs, with its modern and very stylish furniture. Finally, I love how there's a Starbucks and a White Hat yoghurt shop in this branch, so that you can just buy a book and enjoy it right away with a froyo or a coffee in hand. read more

Every time I go to Fully Booked, I feel as if the books are calling out to me, "Anna! Buy me! Take me home! Love me!" Everyone likes Fully Booked for their own reasons. I like Fully Booked because they have books that I cannot find anywhere else. Yesterday, I was so happy when I found a book I've been looking for for a long time. All the other bookstores had told me that they would place an order. I waited. And waited. And waited. The book never came. I didn't even bother placing an order in Fully Booked, but somehow, the book appeared on their shelf. Speaking of placing orders, Fully Booked is good at that. When the book Humans of New York came out, I really wanted to have a copy. So I placed an order for it. Within three weeks, I had my book. I always look forward to their sales because the prices really do drop. Another thing I do is that I look for a copy of the book I want that's slightly damaged. Then I buy that. Hey, a 10% discount is still big, you know. The best thing about Fully Booked is that they encourage people to read. You don't have to buy the book to be able to know its contents. They always have a few copies of the book that aren't wrapped in plastic. And if there aren't any, you can always ask their staff to open one for you. read more

The mother ship of downtown bookstores imho. FB is a multi-level , well-stocked bookstore and stationery (basement) store that also houses a Starbucks, yoghurt shop, and comic book store. 'Very impressed with the graphic novel section! I'd appreciate more NYT bestsellers (mg/ya)and award winners, especially Erin Entrada Kelly's Hello Universe (Filipina author) and a larger selection of newer, popular children's picture books. read more

As a tourist, you MUST take a look inside Fully Booked at High Street. It really isn't your normal book store; in my opinion it's SO MUCH BETTER than Barnes and Nobles. It's 4 incredibly large floors just filled with a bibliophile's dream! The floors are divided by genres and they are clearly labeled and easy for anyone to follow. A great plus is the Starbucks located on the 3rd floor. The Starbucks has a patio area and a beautiful view of The rest of High Street. It's literally the perfect place to stay and read the book you just purchased. A good note for locals or anyone who is close to a Fully Booked: when you spend over 3,000 PHP, you get a free tote bag and a free discount card that last a lifetime at any location! (Discounts vary with different genres/book types) My absolute favorite thing about Fully Booked is the price compared to USD. I bought 4 books that normally would equal $15-$20 USD each, but I only dropped $20 USD and some cents for all 4! EVERYBODY MUST TAKE A LOOK AT THE FULLY BOOKED!!! Fully Booked BGC is by far the biggest bookstore that I've ever been to. The place also offers a wide selection compared to other bookstores out there because they also have comic books, vinyl records, albums, high-end rare to find art materials, artist grade art materials, and stationeries. There's also Starbucks inside so you can enjoy your newly purchased book/s which is a great plus for me. They also invite authors like Lang Leav for a meet and greet and let them sign on their reader's copy. The place also looks like a museum which gives off an uber artsy feel to it. Another great thing about Fully Booked is that they utilize social media in providing excellent customer service for customers. Fully Booked is one of my favorite libraries in Manila. What? That makes no sense you say? Well, the best thing about this particular fully booked is that so many of the books are unwrapped, and so it's possible to read it right there on the couches. That doesn't mean that I'm a filthy stinking book hobo, not at all - it's actually a good way to gauge your next book purchase. This is the largest Fully Booked in Manila, so it's definitely the biggest collection of buyable books you're going to be able to find. Not only that, but if you're not in it for the books, they also have a small comic alley area that has an extremely comprehensive collection of comic books, both western and asian. Additionally, there is a Starbucks (!) on the second floor along with a White Hat, which means that if you just bought a book and feel like reading it straight away with a good coffee, or a frozen yogurt, I guess, then you're going to be able to do it in the building straight up. Finally, I just saw on the side of the building that you can rent the rooftop for events. There's something really badass about the idea of holding a rave atop a bookstore. For a true reader, there is nothing more wonderful than the smell of new books. (Well, maybe except winning a whole shelf of new books.) And, this place is full of it. They're big on art, too. They have this huge installation spanning multiple floors made from books by a visiting artist right in the middle of everything. If you're looking for something in particular, not really looking for anything in particular, just want to browse the shelves and find a quiet corner to read a chapter or two, meeting friends or just looking for a place to end the day after work or doing some shopping, this is THE place to do it. They have everything: books, coffee and food, media, toys, school and office supplies and even a 'Big Bang-esque' comic book room on the top floor. My favorite thing to do is get lost in the shelves and shelves of hard cover art books, the kind you would see piled on coffee tables, and the travel section, of course. This place has 5 floors of fun and surprises. I think they even have a toilet, so you can literally spend the whole day in here. I actually don't think I would mind living here. read more

Bookstores certainly have an indescribable appeal to me. I can stay inside a bookshop longer than I could stay in a clothing boutique. The Fully Booked at the Bonifacio Global City is one such magical place. It became a place where my toddler and I had fun hanging out with each other for a couple of hours. The Fully Booked flagship store at BGC is a four-story building that houses books of several genre written by local and international authors. They also have magazines and comic books from Philippine and foreign publications. They also offer notebooks, washi tapes, sketchpads, pens and other products related to reading and writing. Portions of the upper floors are occupied by food shops to provide a place for people to enjoy their favorite latte while reading their new book, doodling on their new sketchpad or just hang out with each other. My son and I lingered at the second floor where a variety of books for children abound. There were kids his age and younger who were either looking at the books or running on the carpeted floor. I love how Fully Booked used shelves that display books within the eye level and easy access of toddlers. My little one had a grand time browsing through several books from the Thomas and Friends series. I'm so glad that my son was able to exercise caution as he leaf through the pages of those little books, which as I have discovered later on, were a bit expensive. I'd love to take my son back to Fully Booked BGC to check out the other books and maybe buy something that we fancy. I just wish that this four-story bookstore would also have a restroom. read more

Whenever I find myself in Bonifacio High Street, I always make it a point to stop by my personal mecca, Fully Booked. Four floors of books and so much more awaits anyone who goes through the hallowed halls of this gigantic bookstore. On the first floor, bestsellers, magazines and the fiction titles can be found. I have literally spent hours upon hours combing through the shelves of this place and I never tire of it. On the second floor, the kids' section can be found. I've brought my niece here many times and she absolutely loves it. They've got a number of books that are open for browsing and small space where kids can hang out and read as much as they want. On the third floor is a Starbucks Coffee branch for those who want to just chitchat or host meetings. Up on the fourth floor are the arts section and a dedicated room for graphic novels and comic books. The top floor, aptly called Top Shelf is an empty space that is rentable for events. read more

Fully Booked has many branches but this has to be everyone's favorite. Or mostly everyone's. The huge (and wonderful) difference is that most events are being held in this branch. I've been to several book signings, and some other bookworms targeted gathering. Workshops are being held here so you might wanna visit their site regularly if you want to keep yourself updated. And and and we managed to catch Herakut while they were working on the murals inside the branch. The "basement" floor ha all sorts of quirky knick knacks. There used to be a huge selection of art materials there and I was sad to see it go. To my relief the Greenbelt branch still has this huge selection of paints that will make every artist and artist-at-heart faint. read more

If you wanna know what heaven on Earth is, this is it. I feel giddy every time I enter this gigantic bookstore, excited to browse every book to discover new titles to read. As a child, I would throw a tantrum if I had to step out of Fully Booked empty handed. This is the only bookstore I know that probably has /everything/. From fiction and non-fiction, to business and self-help books. From movies and albums, to art supplies. I would probably ask Lucy (the mascot) to marry me, if she was real, if it meant getting to be in this place everyday. It's also a nice venue for movie screenings of locally made films, for talks and seminars, and for pop-up bazaars. This bookstore just keeps on evolving from being just a bookstore. This huge bookstore definitely knows how to make a good impression. Set in the heart of Bonifacio High Street, it's just the perfect place for you to rest after strolling down the area. Just make sure you have enough free time, because it's impossible to enter there without wanting to browse everything. Forget about the clock and explore the place! Whenever I feel like I can't write anymore, all I need is a few hours in Fully Booked BGC perusing their fiction and poetry to fall in love with words all over again. It's like recharging a battery. If I'm eating with family at Serendra Piazza, while the food hasn't been served yet I have to wander off and check out Fully Booked. Home not only to books but also to the people who love them, Fully Booked is all about the experience of reading. I've always felt that this is one of the few major bookstores in Manila where the staff still care about the books they sell. I've been to bookstores where people don't really care what it is you do with your books, just as long as you buy something, anything. But at Fully Booked--and this doesn't just apply to the BGC branch--you can really tell that the staff are book lovers themselves (the Iron Throne arrangement of GoT novels comes to mind), and that they go out of their way to make sure the atmosphere inside Fully Booked is fit to inspire. They tell stories and sing for children on the 2nd floor, hold film screenings, invite international authors for book signings, and facilitate workshops so often that there's usually a new event every month, just as it should be at any active bookstore. In the past years, I've attended a beginner's writing workshop, an amateur playwriting workshop, and a travel writing seminar by Lonely Planet. That's the great thing about Fully Booked. They know what readers want. So whether you're an avid bookworm, or a busybody who wishes they could find time between work to read more often, Fully Booked is bound to have something brewing for you. read more

After National Bookstore started being less "National Bookstore" and more "National School Supplies and Lisa Frank Notebooks," there was a definite gap in the Manila market for a place where they ACTUALLY sold, you know, books. Quality ones from local and international publishers. Fully Booked totally filled and dominated that gap. The bookstore in BGC's High Street is probably one of the largest bookstores in the city, and one of the most fun to explore. Categories upon categories of books arranged across five floors of KNOWLEDGE. From fiction and magazines on the first floor to young adult, music, art and graphic novels on the succeeding levels, no other bookstore can currently match Fully Booked's selection. There's even a Starbucks on the third floor so you could chill and read after purchasing. Whatever your hobbies are, you should probably never stop reading, and hence never stop going to this place. read more

This is probably my favorite Fully Booked branch. Mostly because you could still sit in the corner and peruse through the book you want to purchase. You could also chill at the (relatively) newly built Starbuck's on the second floor. The thing is, book stores and pretty much like libraries - you don't want a place too rowdy and the collection has to be quite vast. I'm really a bookie so I spend a lot of time here. I've never been unable to purchase something that I wanted. You get your fill of YA books, classic novels, comic books and even vinyl records. Fully Booked has the widest and biggest selection of books here in Manila. I particularly like going to the one in Bonifacio High Street because they have 4 - 5 floors of books. This particular branch has a TinTin store, a Starbucks, and white hat (frozen yogurt), a floor for school or office supplies, some art work made of books, and surprisingly a furniture shop. There are some books that are open so you can sometimes just grab a copy and sit any corner and read. They have a big children's section for those that need some children's books. I've recently had an obsession with the books of Haruki Murakami. After picking up a copy of Kafka on The Shore, I was hooked and all I wanted to do was read books written by Haruki Murakami. I've since bought some of Haruki Murakami's books (The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles and Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and his years of pilgrimage) here in Fully Booked. I particularly like going to Fully Booked because it's easy to find a book with the way they arrange things. If in case you can't find a book, their help desk or attendants that might be roaming around can easily help you out. read more

I have a very very long impossible to afford "books I want to buy" list all thanks to Fully booked. I knew since I was very young that I loved reading, but it is Fully booked that created in me a hunger to have every single book a skim through that seems interesting enough. Even being inside the bookstore, surrounded by books makes me happy. Although it would be a much better feeling to leave the store with a bag full of new books, it is still such a joy for me to be surrounded by shelves and shelves of paperbacks and hardcovers of all shapes, colors, and sizes. Fully Booked is undoubtedly one of my favorite places on earth, especially the branch at High Street. My little sister and I are huge book lovers, and sometimes when I'm broke and haven't got the cash to take her anywhere like the movies or out to lunch, I bring her over to Fully Booked on a weekend and we spend a whole afternoon slumming it on the armchairs, fully immersed in whatever book(s) we've chosen for the afternoon. It's a great way to spend the day, and virtually cash-free if you choose to baon (somtimes I bring sandwiches and juice boxes and we eat them outside). Not to mention how no one really cares if you don't buy anything, as long as you don't destroy any of the books. You can come and go as you please, and in that respect I find it a little like a library. Even then, when I do have cash to bring her somewhere, we go to Fully Booked anyway and read, and then go for yogurt in White Hat afterwards, conveniently situated right at the third floor of the building. There's a Starbucks too, in case you've bought a book and want to curl up with in in a corner or by a balcony over a steaming cup of coffee. I love this particular branch also because of the Tin Tin shop in the back, and the literary t-shirts and bags you can find on the first floor. The lower ground level is full of pretty notebooks and stationary that'd make any aspiring stationary hoarder like myself go crazy with want. The top floor boasts a music collection and a comic book section. A COMIC BOOK SECTION!! (cue nerd spasms) In any case, Fully Booked High Street is easily my favorite bookstore in Metro Manila, and for the reasons stated above, for good reasons! read more

The coming of good bookstores like Fully Booked has revolutionized the reading culture here in the Philippines. We finally have access to good books without having to wait for our relatives abroad to send it here. I've always been a voracious reader, reading anything and everything that was in front of me. When Fully Booked first opened, I would admit that I spent all my time there just browsing books. They are now also moving past just selling books as they seem to have a wide array of almost everything in their stores from art materials to stationary needs. Their art installations, activities such as author meet and greets, and other fun interactive workshops make it more than just a bookstore. Regardless, they are still able to maintain selling the newest releases of all our favorite novels and books. Since I am a travel nut, I can spend hours browsing through travel guides, lonely planets, as I get lost in page after page of travel inspiration. Staff training is essential as some are a bit clueless, which makes it frustrating on the customers end. Otherwise, I enjoy the wide selection of books that this place can offer. read more
