These serpents protect the guests at the hotels in Cancun. Go along with them, and I'm sure you'll do fine. Just don't cross em, right?
These snakes all stand at guard, with their tails in the air, forming a traffic circle that almost looks like an astrological calendar with snakes. I believe this is the same serpent god as Quetzcoatl in Teotehuican.
The heads of the snakes are like what you seen in local archaelogical sites like the Palace of the Thousand Columns in Chichen-Itza. They spray water out during the day, and are illuminated at night. read more
