So just for mere convenience this Shell station is right off of 50 as you enter Placerville. They do have a restroom that wasn't too shabby. The person working there felt a little weird, but friendly enough. The only thing is that if you're willing to drive a bit more, the prices for gas is a whole lot cheaper. So next time we'll go to the 76 at Silver Fork as it was much cheaper and is literally beside Highway 50.

Right, with a big-o SUV and a young lady inside not stressed out or anything. He did manage to drive off so I guess he got enough money from some suckers out there. Inside they had separate bathrooms, women's I think had 2 stalls. I will return again if I'm in the area.

On this trip, we didn't start on "Full" and a precautionary ~1/2 tank fill-up in Hang Town seemed reasonable. Plus, gasoline prices only get higher in the mountains. I'm not sure that the Placerville Valero is the cheapest, but it is easily accessible off US 50, especially if when we stop at the nearby Starbucks first. This time around, I didn't read the separate cash/credit prices closely enough, but I was just happy to have a full tank as we headed down the road.

For other Tahoe resorts, we know exactly where we'd generally stop. So we decided, Placerville would be a spot to stop. The Shell was about 20 cents more for some odd reason, so we went to the 76 and although cheaper, the service could be a more friendlier. L O C A T I O N Located right off of 50 on the way to Tahoe. You can't really miss it as there's only two gas stations in Placerville. The Shell which is closer to the freeway and then this 76 which is a little off to the side. S E R V I C E I had noticed the restrooms were outside but were locked and there was a sign that it was only for customers. so I went inside and the service agent was inside. I had asked about the restrooms and he barked at me "only for customers." I pointed to my car outside as we were getting gas. Then he swiftly handed me the key. I think if he would be a little friendlier and nicer, there would be more willingness for folks to go here and potentially buy more items in the convenience store. O V E R A L L It's okay. I saw a lot of folks stop by and end up leaving after seeing the restrooms were only for paying customers. The restroom was clean for the most part. I would likely come back only if we couldn't find any other spot for gas on our way up to Tahoe.

It has a little mini mart, so you can buy snacks, sodas and water. The bathrooms are outside, so you'll have to ask for a key from the clerk. The clerk was very nice. He greeted us and thanked us after paying for our purchases. There is also a KFC right on Canal St when you turn off from 50, so if you're needing food, it's just across the way.

Starting in the Sacramento area, you have to take the 50 East, there is a break in the road trip once you reach the city of Placerville. In Placerville the freeway comes to a stop and slow down, there's a light/intersection. It's a good stop to go get something to eat and or go to the bathroom. Most importantly, if you need gas this is the place to go! It's right off the turn into the small town. It's pretty spacious with parking spots and gas pumps. Also, there's a great Shell market that's available. It sells all of the gas station goodies along with restrooms to help assist the journey in. Everyone is super friendly and I recommend stopping here.
