I saw Fryday Nite being reviewed on Tik Tok. I'm in Mooresville NC & decided to book a baecation in Greenville NC since Ayden is only 20 minutes away. My husband and I decided to get there early. They open up at 11am, we arrived at 11:15 and there was already a line of about 15 people and some items were already sold out. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Everyone was friendly & the service was fast even tho they cook to order. I got the 1 piece trout & shrimp with corn, fries, blue raspberry lemonade & blueberry yum me & my husband got the trout jackfrye sandwich with coleslaw, fries, corn & classic lemonade. Everything was HOT, FRESH & DELICIOUS!! I truly felt like I was at my great grandmother's house in Roanoke Rapids NC eating at our family reunion fish fry. I came to this place with big expectations after finding it on Yelp. The weather was great and I was in the mood for a proper Sunday lunch before grocery shopping. It's about 11 minutes past the grocery store but the drive is always worth it for good food. I called ahead and asked if they took credit cards. She said, "yes" and I was on my way. I got here about 30 mins after they opened for the day and I was greeted by the cashier and perused the menu. After a few questions, I decided on the fish and shrimp plate. I opted for the trout for the fish, the corn and Cajun fries for my sides and the 1/2 JJ punch and 1/2 tea to drink. After about 7-10 minutes the food came out. It was a beautiful day, so I decided to grab a picnic table and have it there. The fish, shrimp and fries were flavorful and well-seasoned. The portion was generous and more that enough for one person and perfect for two people to split. The JJ punch and tea mix was a tad on the sweet side but refreshing nonetheless. Where they they fell short for me was the temperature and texture of the food. While the flavor was good, it all tasted like it had been precooked and kept warm rather than cooked fresh which is a fried food violation for me. The fish and fries were soggy or hard, the corn was just warm and the hush puppies were slightly warm, rubbery and lacked flavor. The best thing on the plate were the shrimp which were also not hot but retained their quality a bit better. I'm giving them 3-stars because I think this place has great potential. The concept, prices and seasoning are solid. If they made the food to order it would be good to go. Being that it's a bit far away from me, I probably won't give them another shot any time soon but would if I were in the area. I'll be rooting for them in the meantime... read more

My daughter graduated from ECU and she wanted a unique place to eat the night before we moved her back home. My daughter had fried flounder, onion rings, and green beans. My wife had fried trout, onion rings, and slaw. I had fried shrimp, fried okra, hush puppies, and fries. We all enjoyed our meals and the owner was so nice. We sat at one of the picnic tables near the fan, so it was comfortable, despite the heat. We were glad we got there at 5, because they had people waiting when they opened and ran out of food. Since we were the last ones to leave and the menu was limited because the food had run out, the owner felt bad and brought us some fried apples. Although I was already stuffed, the were worth the effort. Definitely would eat here again if I am in the area for both the food and the friendly owner! read more

This is the best fried fish I've ever had in my entire life! I got the trout and my mother the fried flounder. We both agreed the fish was the beat we ever had out at a restaurant! The outside was seasoned perfectly, slightly crunchy while the inside was light and flaky and perfectly cooked. The hush puppies were a nice surprise. I've had hush puppies at Dixie Queen, Mayflower, Capt Bills and Sanitary at the beach as well as The Crab Shack and many other seafood restaurants in Eastern NC and VA and I've never eaten a hush puppy that was this good! The buttery sweetness was delicious. When we arrived we were the first ones there. The food was so hot I'm certain they cook the fish and French fries to order. If the food wasn't enough, the hospitality was also amazing! The owner spent her time talking with us about the choices and helped us pick just the right meal! This my first time going here and I LOVED IT!!!!!! The french fries were perfect, the best ever. They didn't have too much grease or oil and they weren't soggy at all. The hush puppies were awesome as well. The tilapia was really great as well. I ended up getting the two tilapias and a side of coleslaw and french fries. I will totally come back. read more

I really enjoyed the meal. They have 6 picnic tables spread out in front of the restaurant for you to eat at(there is no indoor seating). The owner of the restaurant was very friendly and asked for suggestions from all of the patrons. Over all a good dining experience, it reminded me of a backyard fish fry you would have with friends and family. I will be going back again. read more

I normally get the shrimp plate. The food is delicious and so love the hushpuppies! You can't call in your order. You will have to order at the window and then wait for your food to be done but it is worth the wait! read more

This restaurant is such a quaint spot of deliciousness right here in Ayden. The fish is perfectly cooked, never greasy and always delicious, seasoned to perfection! The staff are warm and friendly. The fish was the best I've have since I've been in Eastern NC: Fresh, crisp but not cooked too hard, seasoned just right (not salty), the fish portions were big, the serving size for the sides were good.
