Chile is not the land of the perfect desert. In fact I find most Chilean sweet treats to be unusually dry and uncreative. That is... until I had a freshly baked cake from Dulceria Frutillar.
This place is literally an art factory of yumminess. I cake I had was a mixture of mil hojas (a thousand layers) and a crunchy oreo like chocolate layering. The frosting was rich and fluffy. If I hadn't been at a work party I probably would have helped myself to about 5 pieces of it.
The shop is very small and located in an isolated part of Los Condes. I wouldn't have even known it existed as it is not located on any of the main streets. However just look it up, not close to any metro line but I'm sure a bus/walking would get you there. The inside of the shop is very sweet. Not a place to sit down and eat, it seems like it's all things to take with you. read more
